Kapitel 81: Chapter 81

"I didn't name these yet but what it basically does is that it lets you access a room that I will make in a few days. That room will only be accessible by both of you after another step but make sure you keep this a secret. Oh, I forgot, this also acts as a signal."

"A signal?", asked Neville while Hermione frowned, deep in thought.

"Yeah. It basically shocks you slightly. Not strong enough to actually hurt you but you will feel a slight sting. This will be considered as the time for the class to begin but if any of you get in trouble or danger, all you have to do is ask for my help in your head three times and I'll receive the signal.", he answered as the other two wore the accessories, waiting for a reaction from them.

It didn't take too long for him to get the reaction he was waiting for as Hermione's breathing got faster, "Why do I feel so weak and dizzy?"

"That was the last step that I talked about. The earring will consume your blood to start functioning but it's only at the start. How are you feeling Neville?"

"I… feel alright. Now that you mention it, it's weird that I'm unable to feel it, unlike Hermione."

A few minutes passed and Hermione's complexion began to improve while Alex lied down and began napping. Neville didn't dare to practice spells in Alex's tent as he feared messing up and damaging the tent.

Instead, he simply talked with Hermione so that she could forget about the pain and also to relieve his own boredom. They didn't know how much time had passed but both of them stopped talking when Alex groggily sat up and stretched.

"Hmm… looks like it's done. I'll do the other stuff when I'm free so let's postpone the lessons to next week, yeah?"

Both of them agreed and headed out of the tent along with Alex, who made the tent disappear before looking at the dark sky, "Looks like I slept for too long… oh well, let's go."

The two of them headed to their common room while Alex went to his, only to be greeted by his teammates who seemed to look a bit grumpy. Before he could say hi, Roger Davies walked up to him.

"Do you mind explaining why you did not come for the practice?"

Alex took his time to study everyone's expressions before answering, which annoyed the already-annoyed captain a bit more. He sighed as he shook his head, "Forgive me for not coming for the practice but I was doing some research on our opponents which as a captain, you neglected."

Contrary to his expectations, Roger seemed to have calmed down instead of getting even more angry.

"Alright, that's great. Tell us what you learned and how you did it." He said as he dragged a chair for Alex to sit on while the whole team stared at him, waiting for what he was about to say.

"Well… they're either underestimating us or they don't really care about playing for Ravenclaw. I've seen them practice and they are still focusing on teamwork instead of their individual skills which is of a much higher importance. If we compare our team and theirs, every single one of us plays better than them and we also have decent teamwork. Not better than theirs, but it's still a good improvement.

While I do feel like we have a high chance of winning, we can skyrocket the chances if we put a dent in their teamwork."

All of them nodded while Randolph, the second chaser leaned forward, "How will we put that dent?"

"You can leave that to me. Rest assured, I'll join the practice regularly from tomorrow."

The group talked for a while before dispersing and when they were alone, Aman smirked at Alex, "I know that you went to meet Neville and seeing the stuff you've been doing the past month, you probably just forgot and were doing something else."

"Yeah… I slept."

"So then, are you going to tell me how you did the so-called research?"

Alex sighed lightly, "Well, I observed them last year from the windows and while I was taking a stroll to clear my mind. They practice for three hours every Monday, so I went and watched this week. The way they practiced didn't change and I genuinely don't feel like they can beat us. All I have to do is knock one of them down and we are good to go."

"You do know that getting a clean hit on someone moving on a racing broom is easier said than done right?"

"Well… you're not wrong. The chances of me getting a good hit from a random shot is about one in ten. The bludger will hit the target but it probably wouldn't be so accurate so it'll probably cause a minor injury and nothing more if Jason cooperates with me, the chances of getting an accurate knockout hit will be about one in five which is a huge thing as we will have a lot of time to execute the plan."

Aman looked at him, deep in thought for a few seconds before coming up with a question, "If Jason cooperates, both of you will be on the offensive. This will put the whole team in a vulnerable position."

"Don't worry. The first time is a charm and the opponents will be able to counter the plan only if they know that we are going with the plan. All we have to do is go completely offensive for a minute and then go back to defending our teammates for the next five or more minutes.

This will make things unpredictable and we will have a bit more freedom. Let's win the first match and then we can think of the weaknesses. In our match after a week, we have to knock out only one person. A seeker will have an eagle-eye view while the beaters focus on the bludgers and the goalkeeper will also have a decent view of the field.

This makes the chasers as our only target and all we have to do is hit the bludger hard enough that the other team's beaters don't reach it on time."
