Kapitel 202: On The Way Too The Butterfly Manor
As Shinobu watched us get to work it almost seemed like magic in her eyes as the medics of the Demon Slayer Corps were nowhere near as efficient at their jobs at saving people's lives that have sustained life threatening injuries like her sister had.
Not only that but the equipment she had seen them use was something she hadn't seen before either but she could tell that they were giving her blood from the sight of those blood red packages that were slowly being drained of all of their contents and straight down a tube into her sisters arm.
As she watched the man focused his green light like energy on her sister while at the same time the two women got to work cleaning up her wounds and closing them up with stitches.
It was a slow and methodical process but after three and a half hours of hard work, her body had stabilized and her internal and external wounds were all closed up before her stomach was wrapped in gauze to keep the newly made sitiches clean of any dirt that could cause the recently closed wounds to fester.
(Hifumi POV)
"Hooo…. It's done, she'll make it now, all she needs now is rest and a few more blood transfusions and in a month or two she should be able to move once more." Luckily her spine wasn't damaged as a result of that attack so she will be able to walk soon enough.
"Serenity, go get us the cart, we can't exactly just carry her all the way back to her home now can we?" I say as I turn back to Shinobu who gets up from the ground to go and check on her sister who was now soundly asleep.
Serenity didn't say anything with only the sound of the trees rustling being heard as she headed towards where we came from to grab our comfy cart that I bought from the system so we had a means of travel that didn't stick out like a sore thumb for the technology of this era where the Model T was still the most widely used mode of transportation for the rich people of the world in this era and especially Japan.
Soon enough we head the sound of clattering hooves as Serenity was holding the reigns to lead the comfy horse drawn cart towards our makeshift operating room which Mikan and Florence began to pull down and put away into Mikan's Interspacial Medical Bag.
The cart itself looked just like the settler carts that were used by the Americans to settle the Wild West after the Louisiana purchase but on the inside had comfortable seating, a recoil reducer to reduce the bouncing that a horse drawn cart can cause for those riding a normal one, and enough room in the middle for some one to lay down in the middle for a makeshift bed to which I helped carry Kanae inside of before laying her down for her to rest.
"Florence, you and Serenity take the reigns while we all stay in back and watch over her, but I must ask, where do you wish for us to take her to?" I say before turning to Shinobu as we didnt exactly know of the locations of any of the Demon Slayer buildings right off the bat.
"The Butterfly Manor, it's the place we call home." Shinobu said straight to the point and in a much calmer state of mind as her sisters life had been just saved by these odd, but clearly friendly people so she saw in no harm in leading them back to the Butterfly Manor.
"Alright, just tell them where to go and we shall head there." I say as we get Kanae all comfortable in the back before me, Mikan and Shinobu hop into the back before Florence got in front next to Serenity before she slapped the reigns to get the cart moving along to where we needed to go with the help of Shinobu's directions.
Though we were quite the ways away from the manor as from here to there would take several hours while riding this cart, and seeing it would take sometime, Shinobu decided to interact with us.
"Who are you people anyway? You come out of nowhere and have everything needed to save my sisters life, which I am grateful for, but it's like…" She said as she came to a stop as she found what she thought this to be absurd as the thought crossed her mind.
"Divine Providence? Well your not wrong, but not right with your assumptions it's more complicated than that, but to put it simply I forsaw something bad was going to happen to a woman at that location and at that time, so we made our preparations to make it there, unfortunately several things delayed us but we were just barely able to make it and we saved your sister in the process, well I mean I'm assuming she's your sister since you both look similar after all." I said coming up with a reasonably believable lie, luckily in this era people have more faith in the Shinto gods than they do in the modern era from what I had seen back in my world.
"Yes, she is my older sister, I also just realized I haven't introduced myself have I? I'm Shinobu Kocho and this is my sister Kanae, thank you for saving her life with your powers of yours." She said as she bowed her head and not questioning what he had said as in her mind it's the only way people like them could show up in time to save her sister, though she still had a few doubts but she would have to leave them for now.
"It's no big deal, we won't be leaving until she fully recovers, and we should introduce ourselves as well, I'm Hifumi Yamada and the leader of this band of colorful characters, this is Mikan Tsumiki, she is one of the most talented nurses the world has ever seen, the girl in red out front is Florence Nightingale, one of the best known doctors in all of Europe and lastly Serenity, a companion of mine that has decided to be our groups guard after befriending us when we were out in th Middle East, we travel all across the world to provide our services to people that need them." I went onto explain for her which wasn't the truth but wasn't a lie either as unless I plan on having them join the chat group I won't mention the whole other world things for the time being.
Also it looked like we had to stay in this world until she fully recovered as the quest didn't complete the second we saved her life like back in Kill La Kill, which if I had to guess was because of how antiquated the health system of this era was and the possibility of her suddenly getting worse without our intervention to keep her alive, so our few days in this world turned to a few months instead.
"Hifumi & Mikan? Are you both Japanese as well?" She was a bit surprised as while we both looked Asian our skin tone was a bit paler than the average Japanese person so she assumed we were foreigners like Florence.
"Of course, we grew up around Tokyo before heading out abroad to help people in need, we come back home every so often when we have the chance after all." I went onto explain to which Mikan nodded in agreement.
"I see, but you don't look that much older than me and you both have already gone out to see the rest of the world huh?" She said seeming a bit jealous as the life she was living now she wouldn't be able to leave her country to travel at this rate with Demons being everywhere in Japan, especially with what they had done to kill her parents.
"Yep, but it's not easy, pirates that like to attack our ships we travel on, bandits who attack us while we travel on land and not to mention the various monsters and creatures that attack those who intrude in their territory as well." I say spinning a believable tale that also wasn't a lie as turns out that in the world of Demon Slayer there are other monsters and creatures in other parts of the world but since Demon Slayer only focuses on Japan, the Manga never mentions them at all and thus to the average reader it's unknown but the True System I have at least lets me know that info if I read up on the history of the planet that story is based upon at least, well to an extent that is.
"There are other monsters in the rest of the world?!" Shinobu said with a look of shock and astonishment on her place leading her to think the world is more dangerous overall.
"Well yes but unlike demons most don't go out of their way to hunt demons, there are exceptions but most are like animals and get angry when one enters their territory after all with a few being actually kind to humans when they require aid but most just keep to themselves." I went onto explain which was interesting to know more about the wider world of Demon Slayer, even if I wouldn't go out of my way to see it all.
Hearing all of that Shinobu paused as she went into deep thought as she gripped the hilt of her blade before looking back at me.
"Then, are you a monster Hifumi…." She said with a much tighter grip on her blade as we stared at each other.
But hearing that gave me an idea as I felt like I should tease this girl.
So I grinned as my teeth noticeably became sharper as a black aura began to radiate off my body as my voice became noticeable more deeper and raspier as well before my eyes turned glowing red.
"Well, looks like the cats out of the bag, so what are you gonna do Demon Slayer? How are you going to fight something you've never come across before?"
