Kapitel 56: Finally Yielding

Magnus hurriedly shook his head. His eyes reddened as his vision registered the glaring wound on her neck. His body was engulfed in helplessness as the memories of her death from his previous life surged like giant waves crushing the walls of his unyielding heart. 

As his gaze continued to stare at blood dripping down, he was overwhelmed with an immense amount of pain, as if it were his neck that was wounded. The thought of losing her again triggered him to holler in his head, like a wounded beast who's witnessing the death of its closest kin. The words 'stop' and 'please' kept repeating in his mind, as his mouth moved, dispirited, unable to make any sounds.

Arianne's eyes trembled as she spotted tears forming in the corner of Magnus' eyes. The hands gripping the blade loosened as the man's expression crumbled down, humble and pleading. His previous stubbornness was nowhere to be seen, and only meekness from seeking her pardon was left.
