The sun was coming down, slowly receding and giving way for the moon to come out and bathe the world in moonlight

Adam and Mei were in that same category as they were currently seated on a bench, staring at the sunset the was slowly appearing on the horizon on the horizon
"Thank you for today, Adam"
He turned his head to the side at her words
"I enjoyed our day. This is the most fun I had in a long time" She continued in a tone full of contentment
Her purplish black hair cascaded down her waist, and her indigo eyes that were looking at him gently as she brightly smiled at him
Mei was indeed very, very beautiful
"You know..." He started
She looked at him in anticipation at what he would say
"Eep-!" She let out a surprised yelp as Adam wrapped his arm around her waist and brought her closer so their shoulders were touching
"This seems an awful lot like a date, so shouldn't we give this a proper ending?" He smiled widely at her

Mei didn't say anything, but her whole face became flushed with a red hue as she parted her pink lips slightly, closing her eyes in acceptance and knowing what is about to happen
Adam leaned in, his warm breath caressing her face, his lips approached so closely that their noses were touching, and he finally....
...Planted a kiss on her cheek
"... Eh?"
Mei's eyes opened wide as she stared at him in a mix of confusion and bewilderment
He chuckled at the look she was giving him "First dates are all about knowing each other. If you want a kiss so much, then we must go on a second date" He finished with a serious expression on his face
Mei's lips formed a thin line as she just continued to stare at him
"I... Don't think it works that way, Adam" She said in an uncertain tone as her expression shifted into one with complicated emotions, but the most prominent one was disappointment
"Oh? Were you so eager for a kiss?" He teased her
Mei's cheeks once again lit up with a red hue "N-no, it's just that-!" She stuttered
"Well Mei, I'm an advocate of gender equality. So if you want a kiss from me, you also have to put in the effort" He once again teased her as he interrupted her
Her expression became thoughtful, but behind her confused eyes lay a hidden flame of determination
"... Of course"

"Adam-senpai! Where were you?"
The sky was darkening as the moon slowly rose in place of the sun
And in such a time, they both finished their date. After escorting Mei to her house in case something bad happened, Adam returned to his dormitory

"Haah, didn't you read my note Kiana? I went out with Mei today" Adam sighed as he explained to the white haired warrior
"You should have taken me too!"
Kiana complained as she puffed her cheeks and pouted in dissatisfaction when she heard his answer
His lips twitched in amusement
"Sorry, I wanted it to be special, so it was better to be with Mei alone this time" He apologized sincerely as he explained his reasons further
Kiana put her hands on her hips and turned her face away from him, while also keeping the adorable pout still on her face
"Come one Kiana. We have already hung out alone together many times in the past" Adam tried to reason with her as he couldn't handle the girl's cuteness
"Hmph"
But it seemed the young Kaslana won't let him go so easily...
"Alright, how about I cook your favorite food for three days straight?" He offered for peace
"....." Kiana glanced at him, looking hesitant about whether she should take the offer and let him off so easily
"... Fine" She relented at the offer of food "But next time you go out, you have to tell me!"
"Of course, Kiana"

"Fuuu~ What an exhausting day" Adam exhaled as he slumped on his bed
Of course, he wasn't tired physically, but he was mentally tired from doing all of that in a day
"And yet... It was fun"
He enjoyed his date with Mei, and he enjoyed his banter with Kiana. Honestly, he has gotten used to this lifestyle, so much so that he doesn't know how he lived his life alone in the past
As for the ending of his date... Honestly, he was oh so very tempted to kiss her juicy lips, but he held himself back at the last moment
He also fully activated [Chosen one] for a brief moment.... Because otherwise, a normal girl would have slapped him
He doesn't want to enter a relationship right now, especially with a Honkai eruption on the horizon. After the eruption is done and life stabilizes, he will not hold back
Especially now that Mei is unstable… . He doesn't want the eruption to happen sooner just because he kissed a Herscher
His future days in St. Freya will be the most peaceful ones, so it is better to form relationships with the girls at that point in time
"Girls...." He muttered out loud
Yes, girls in the plural sense
Honestly, having access to the multiverse, where there are so many worlds with so many hot and powerful waifus and yet not taking advantage of this and making a harem is beyond stupidity
Besides, call it arrogance or pride, but he prefers having no romance at all than limiting himself to only one woman
