Duke of Idir was 50 years old. He was younger than the king and missed many years with the Duchess of Taranis, but he felt offended when he was called the little boy by her. He worked hard to inherit his family business and once he became head of the family, he spared no effort to eliminate his brothers who could threaten his position. 

No matter what, he can't allow the royal party to get any stronger which will negatively affect his own standing and business that already took the falling shot because of the lost monopoly on food.

"The kingdom has not much land available, and I believe the sea on the south can provide the princess with the best environment," the duke argued.

"If it's so great why don't you move there yourself?! You want my grandniece to be locked far away from the capital in some forgotten parts that even pirates are not interested in?!" The duchess fumed.
