The secret chamber that only a few could know about was a small chapel beneath the main palace. In that dusty room, a single scroll lay on the table with the signatures of all the previous monarchs who took an oath to forever protect the peace and never hurt the other races again.

Yet they weren't able to fulfil the promise. 

"Only the future king can know of that room… How could you…" The king was breathless as he heard her revelation. 

His daughter was never a good example of the proper noble lady. She was more of a tomboy and the whole palace was like her playground. Hide-and-seek was her favourite game, but to think she would discover something that was used once in a lifetime at best was still shocking to hear.

"I know, that's why I kept silent until now… I will never tell brother about its existence, so when the time comes for him to go down and kneel in front of the god's statue…" Gloria explained.
