Kapitel 76: Girls' swimming lessons

"What? basketball?" David asked as he saw Jake stunned.

"He can teach basketball? Look at his short stature and frail physique; he doesn't look like someone who can play basketball," Bill taunted Jake, always ready to belittle him.

Jake's height wasn't actually short; he was around 175 cm, and he had grown a few more centimeters recently, almost reaching 1.8 meters.

"It's not basketball," Jake shook his head.

"I knew it; he can't teach basketball at all. In fact, I don't think he can teach anything," Bill proudly remarked.

"So, what will you teach then?" Verna asked curiously.

"Swimming," Jake replied.

"Swimming? Not bad," Verna responded.

Teaching students swimming was different from training professionals. As long as Jake had some basic knowledge and made sure the students were safe, it should be fine.

"It's the girls' swimming class," Jake said with a complicated expression, not knowing whether he should be happy or sad.

"The girls' class?!" Almost everyone in the office exclaimed in disbelief, including Bill, who couldn't hide his astonishment.

Unlike other physical education classes where boys and girls attended together, swimming classes were separated by gender, and the swimming pool had separate areas for male and female students.

Previously, female students' swimming classes were always taught by female teachers, and male students' classes were taught by male teachers. This separation was to avoid any suspicion and unnecessary complications.

Now, Jake was saying that he was going to teach the girls' swimming class, which naturally surprised Verna and the others.

"Jake, are you sure you're not mistaken?" Verna couldn't help but ask. "As far as I know, Princeton University has never had a male teacher teach the girls' swimming class."

"I wish I had made a mistake, but I didn't," Jake replied with a bitter smile.

Jake handed his phone to Verna to confirm the information. After reading it twice, Verna could only confirm that Jake was indeed assigned to teach the girls' swimming class.

"Jake...," Verna looked at him, wanting to say something, but she was at a loss for words. Finally, she said, "You better brace yourself."

Saying that, Verna was the first one to leave the office. The other teachers also left, looking at Jake with envy and wanting to swap positions with him, but they knew that it was not something they could decide. The school's arrangement had to be followed.

"What's going on with all of this?" Jake stood alone in the office and sighed.

Only then did Jake remember that when he first met Carter, he had casually mentioned knowing how to swim. At that time, he didn't think much about it and had even boasted about his swimming skills to impress Carter. Now, he was assigned to teach the girls' swimming class, and he couldn't help but feel overwhelmed.

"If I had known it would turn out like this, I wouldn't have said I knew how to swim back then. Who would have thought that Carter would randomly assign me to teach a swimming class, and on top of that, it's the girls' swimming class! Should I go or not? That's not even a question! Since I'm already here, the students must be waiting by the pool, and I can't back out at this point; I just have to face it," Jake thought to himself.

"At the poolside, Judy looked at her roommate's figure and said with envy, 'Dale, you have a great figure.' In Selena's dormitory, Selena and Novia chose aerobics for their physical education class, while Judy and Dale chose swimming. Although Dale was not well-liked due to her unpleasant attitude and behavior, Judy couldn't help but envy Dale's figure, which made her own body look somewhat flat in comparison.

Dale's pride showed on her face as she received the compliment from her roommate. She had always been confident about her appearance and figure, and she had been the center of attention since childhood. However, since she met Selena in college, it seemed like she had encountered her nemesis. Although Dale was reluctant to admit it, Selena's looks and figure clearly surpassed her, which made Dale quite unhappy. Now, Judy's praise had rekindled Dale's lost self-confidence and pride.

"Some things can't be envied," Dale glanced at Judy's chest and said nonchalantly, "People like me are always the center of attention. Your envy won't change that. Although, sometimes, the way those men look at me can be a bit unbearable."

Judy almost vomited from Dale's affected display of concern, regretting her earlier words. Dale couldn't even let her have a little positive interaction.

"Indeed, some things can't be envied," Judy said, "Just like how Selena surpasses you in looks, figure, and temperament, your envy won't change that."

"You..." Dale, who had been pretending to worry earlier, suddenly became furious. "She only achieved that through dating different guys! She looks pure on the outside, but who knows how many guys she's been with behind closed doors."

"Dale, how can you speak ill of someone like that?" Judy said indignantly, "Selena is not that kind of person."

"You can't judge someone by their appearance. Who knows what kind of person she truly is?" Dale retorted, "Just look at her boyfriend; we all saw it. She denied it, and he's not even from our school. Who knows how many boyfriends like him she has outside of campus?"

Judy was momentarily speechless, not knowing how to argue because she also believed that Jake was Selena's boyfriend.

After a while, Judy said, "Selena is just shy and embarrassed to admit it. I believe she is not that kind of person. We are classmates and roommates; you shouldn't casually defame her."

"I'm not defaming her," Dale squinted, "I don't even care to compare myself to her."

At that moment, several girls near the entrance of the swimming pool suddenly screamed, and a familiar figure came into Dale and Judy's view.

"How could he be here?!" Dale and Judy exclaimed almost simultaneously.
