Midas moved through the dense air of the Mechanism, his senses heightened, his footsteps steady. Just as he approached, he saw the Python that was in a heated conversation, stiffen a bit, its long serpentine body coiling as if preparing for a confrontation.

The Python's eyes narrowed a bit, into calculating slits that locked onto Midas, a mixture of disbelief and irritation swirling within them. Midas inwardly shook his head. If you act like that, then everyone is going to notice that there might be a connection between us.
