The Reptilian Scout Leader's scales glistened under the pale, fading light as his forked tongue flicked out, tasting the tension in the air. He chuckled, shaking his head as a deep guttural sound escaped his mouth and echoed off the walls.

His facial expression was unsightly, but his eyes which should have been gleaming with desperation after being surrounded like this showed something else, something akin to a dark amusement. There was a sliver of interest in the depths of his eyes.
