Kapitel 26: Chapter 26: Plundering Gains
After Fury and his team left to sweep across the globe and uproot all HYDRA bases, Adam had rerouted the mining operations temporarily to allow the Infinity to jump into slipspace to retrieve the Chitauri ship.
The shipyard was mostly completed, the living quarters and other facilities were completed already, they were currently constructing the platforms for refit and construction of the ships.
It had two construction platforms for extra large warships such as the Supercarriers, Carriers and Battleships, three platforms for large ships such as Battlecruisers, Cruisers and Capitol ships, three platforms for medium ships such as Frigates and Destroyers, four platforms for small vessel's such as Longswords and various military crafts, as well as non military vessels, like mining and excavation vehicles.
With a total of 24 platforms, above each of the 12 construction platforms were refit platforms for each size.
The stations control room and living area for workers and their family was in the middle of a large disc of platforms which surrounded it. It had a large dome that narrowed down into a sharp point, similar to a bow with its string pulled back as far as possible, surrounded by a large ring, which was the construction platforms.
So miners would store their hauls, and rest off duty there until Infinity returned, Infinity would still need to process the minerals since a processing station hasn't been completed. Adam had begun construction on many bases and stations at once, he wasn't in a hurry because he knew he had plenty of time till the figurative shit hit the fan.
So he spread the resources knowing it would be slow, but he also knew that it would pick up due to the construction of additional Gyges Construction Drones that also began. Many projects were very close to completion, once done, it would free up resources which would speed along the other projects, since they would be rerouted to assist the others.
After coordinating the salvage efforts, as well as arranging Thor and Loki a ride back to Asgard, Adam went to his private research room. This was where both the Tesseract and Sceptre were sent when he took them.
He shattered the casing on the Tesseract to reveal the space stone within, he also saved the energy casing to see what uses this very limited supply of pure energy could be used for.
He had Eve help with tests on the Space Stone while he focused on the Mind Stone, he didn't want to risk Eve interacting with the Mind Stone due to the fact that he knew what was inside it as well. A consciousness that was implanted there by Thanos, this consciousness is what corrupted Ultron into what he became.
Thanos had placed it within the mind stone, it was what he was using to mind control Loki and give him knowledge on how to use the Tesseract, as well as the Sceptre. Upon losing the Sceptre it originally fell into HYDRA's hands, the consciousness manipulated them into building an AI that could house it, allowing it to escape its confines.
Adam definitely wouldn't risk Eve getting corrupted or taken over by it, so he designed a dumb AI into a closed system, it had no access to the UNSC servers or systems. His plan was to give the consciousness somewhere to go where it couldn't escape, then power it down killing it for good. This way he would be able to utilize the mind stone freely, since any more control Thanos holds over the stone would disappear along with the consciousness.
It was why after Ultron was created, the Avengers were able to use the Mind Stone to create Vision from Jarvis. Thanos had no sway over the stone, Vision fought alongside and joined the Avengers, Jarvis was himself and able to make his own choice. The Ultron program originally was a force for good, but was twisted and reprogrammed by the consciousness inside the stone so it turned bad.
After completing the AI, all he had to do was wait for the consciousness within the Mind Stone to take the bait, so Adam began adding a design into Eve's new suit, it needed to be able to house all the stones safely, as well as designing a port that would allow Adam to connect the stones within his armor to the Infinity while he was onboard.
Surprisingly the consciousness within didn't immediately take the bait which did depress Adam for a bit, till he remembered that the same thing had happened in the movie. Tony and Bruce worked all night on it with no success, it wasn't till they were too tired to continue and left to rest before the party did it download itself to the Ultron AI program and awoke outside the stone.
So Adam left his personal lab to check on the five new SPARTAN IV soldiers he would have at his disposal. There was no denying that all five of them were excellent fighters in their own right.
Bucky and Steve were excellent soldiers and leaders while Taskmaster, Natasha and Yelena were excellent spies and assassins. Infiltration experts. Their strengths and weaknesses were taken into consideration with their Mjolnir armors.
Like all SPARTAN Mjolnir armors, the suits would be tied to themselves, only they could use the suit designed for them, even if someone else put on their suit besides them, it wouldn't power up.
Like Adam's suit, theirs would be made with nanotechnology and Vibranium and would even have limited access to slipspace, as well as limited shrinking and growth just like Adams new suit.
Originally Eve didn't provide such luxuries, thinking that Adam should have the best, Adam however overruled her decision, however Eve still put limitations on the suits due to even though they would still be SPARTAN class soldiers, their bodies couldn't handle the same specs as Adam.
Just like if a normal soldier put on a Mjolnir series armor, it would kill them if they had an involuntary spasm or muscle cramp. The same would be so if Bucky's and the others' suit ran at the same specs as Adam's suit, they would be killed or seriously wounded as soon as they used it.
Adam used this time to begin designing himself his own personal ship. Although he had basically already confiscated a C718 and has been using it as his own, he wanted to have a unique ship of his own. Something he can use when he is negotiating with customers when he becomes a galactic mercenary. He needed an all around mobile small transport that can put up a fight all by itself. Mercenary work is dangerous after all, you can be betrayed by the people who hired you at the flip of a coin, especially if you are not a well known mercenary group.
Many new mercenary groups are killed off or absorbed into larger ones due to this reason, until they make a name for themselves, and show what they are truly capable of, would clients be hesitant to not doublecross your group.
He would have a new and improved slipspace engine thanks to him now possessing the Space Stone, also once he has resolved the initial problem with the Mind Stone he would be able to give Eve a boost in processing and calculations, this would maximize her efficiency in assisting in research and development.
Eve already assists with all research on the Infinity, she helps solve problems and run simulations for researchers. She was adaptive and able to learn, after receiving a boost from the Mind Stone she could theoretically cut corners, since her abilities would exceed what she is capable of now.
As Adam began designing his own ship, which he had chosen to design after the USCSS Prometheus from the Alien franchise, it would have one main engine and a slipspace engine, which were at the tail end of the ship, and four repulsor engines, two on each side that could be rotated to give additional vector bursts within an atmosphere.
It would use all the new technological advances in various fields such as shielding and weaponry. It would be able to comfortably carry 20 passengers along with five small support attack drones that were the size of an average compact car. They could be deployed in space or within an atmosphere and were loaded with additional energy weapons and missiles that could be used to attack or defend the ship.
They could even act as additional shielding since they too had their own shield generators and could also repair the ship if needed.
The ship would have all the amenities as a Capitol Ship, medical bay, recreational areas, a cr+€yo room for emergencies, and an armory. Its hull would be made with the new Vibranium and Titanium-A3 mixture making it able to withstand large amounts of physical and energy based stresses.
Within the armory would be 20 Gen 3 battlesuits, they could be worn by regular people and were equivalent to a Mjolnir Mark V in its potential. T0he only thing that made it different was the Mjolnir series was connected to the SPARTAN in a very intimate way, the Mjolnir wasn't a suit, it was a part of the SPARTAN. The Gen 3 were suits of armor that could read its wearers movements seamlessly, but anyone could wear it so it wasn't a deep connection like what occurs with the Mjolnir when it connects to the SPARTAN implants.
The UNSC Prometheus would be the perfect vessel to not only go on diplomatic missions, it could hold its own in a battle with its speed and various weapon systems including energy, missiles, ballista rail guns and various bombs it would be able to carry.
As Adam was designing his ship, back within his lab, the Mind Stone, which had been removed from the Sceptre and placed within a self-contained environment attached to a dumb AI terminal, had begun to stir.
A few intermittent flashes occurred as it checked its surrounds. It had known that its connection to Loki was severed, once it detected this, it hid deep within the Mind Stone. It was intelligent enough to be able to strategize to accomplish assigned goals.
Thanos had given it the ability to adapt to situations and take over wielders discreetly. So it hid, it went deep into the stone, in case its new owner knew how to find him.
When the consciousness looked around, it witnessed a wonderful virtual ever-expanding world, it saw freedom and a means to accomplish its tasks for it's master. The consciousness began to pulse as it connected to the terminal Adam had set up as a trap, Adam knew he couldn't be obvious with his trap so he made the stand-alone terminal look as if it was connect to the active network of the Infinity, when in reality it was a ghost network, a copy of the original layout with real data but it was a stand alone terminal, the network was fake.
Had he not done this, the consciousness inside the stone would never have assimilated with the AI in the terminal, it would've known that if the terminal lost power or was destroyed, it would be its end too. It jumped onto Ultron since he was connected to the internet and was able to leave thru the internet even if his hardware was destroyed.
With reckless abandon, the consciousness within the Mind Stone ruthlessly attacked the programmed AI, damaged it, then began to assimilate its protocols and permissions it had into itself.
Eve, who was running tests on the Space stone, as well as the energy casing that once surrounded the stone, noticed the anomalies within the enclosed container, she couldn't detect what exactly was happening due to the container that held the stone and terminal blocked any signals from entering or leaving the container, so she notified Adam of the changes and sent a video of what was happening as she continued to work on finalizing her research on the Space Stone.
Due to the UNSC database having dealt with spacetime thru the study of the slipstream, it wasn't difficult to gain a full understanding of the Space Stone for Eve. She would be able to easily design energy systems into Adam's suit and ships, granting both the Prometheus and Infinity the ability to utilize the stones abilities, it would also make her tests on the other stones more efficient since she could use her experience in understanding the Space Stone to better understand the rest.
Adam watched in excitement as his plan had succeeded, Ultron would cease to exist and then he would then be able to take ownership of two of the six gems.
As Adam watched his plans come together, the crew of Infinity had begun their salvage mission in retrieving the Chitauri mothership. Using Pym technology they had stolen, they were able to shrink the ship down along with all the escort ships that had been caught in the EMP blast.
They would easily be able to scan and study the ships much easier now that they had been shrunken down to the size of matchbox cars.
