"Wish me luck"
"Good luck beating the other team they're like three times your height" Cardan responded to Zaden who had taken a huge gulp as soon as he saw whom they were facing.
"Still think you'll win" Cardan mocked as he looked at their opponents.
Zaden shrugged "Your praise for Noa still gives me hope I can still win"
"That was until I saw your opponents. How are you going to get past those guys let alone touch the ball" Cardan uttered Zaden's worst fears.
Chewing his bottom lip nervously Zaden responded "You know what they say, where their's a will there's a way... hahahaha" Zaden laughed in nervousness.
"Not in this case though-" Cardan said before he was cut-off by one of Zaden's taller team mates.
"The moment of truth has arrived" Zaden said as he waved pathically making his way to the court. Waving a small smile to Noa. Cardan whispered that she'd win and when she'd whispered back thank you he returned his focus back to the court.
Maybe they could shock him and win.
They lost.
But at least they lost gracefully. Noa managed to score two baskets and passed Zaden the rest which he only managed to miss two and the rest of the eleven he scored.
Their main problem was the defence and unfortunately they barely broke through it.
Cardan rushed to collect a towel for both Noa and Zaden with Mia on toe with bottles of water. A smirk made a way to his face when he saw Mia behind him. By now Zaden had already taken off his shirt but immediately covered his sweaty chest with his hands as his face turned red.
"Here you are guys" Cardan said as he handed Zaden and Noa the towels.
Sending him a sweet smile she replied "Thanks" before wiping her face and body clean.
"Eemh he-here" Mia nervously muttered as she shaved two water bottles on Zaden hands and another two she handed them to Noa her face aflame.
"Your game was good" she said softly as she leaned backwards and forward nervously with her toes.
Zaden's eyes widened "You watched my game...!"
"Y-Yes was I not supposed to?" Mai replied as she looked around nervously whilst fidgeting with her hands.
"No ,no you can in fact you can watch my games as my games as many times as you want" Mia's face if it wasn't red already became red as a tomato followed by Zaden as soon as he realised what he said.
Cardan chuckled before turning to Noa his eyes were eye-level to her considering they were the same height "You need some help with that" Cardan nodded at the towel she was holding. She first nodded her head in agreement before shaking fast her face turning red as if realising what his actions implied.
Laughing again Cardan was about to say something before he got a call by now 3 hours had passed "Sorry, let me answer this" Noa just nodded at him.
"Cardan Remy's in the hospital where the hell are you!" Easton exclaimed in anger.
Cardan froze for a second his eyebrows frowing a bit "What do you mean he's in the hospital?"
"It means what it's supposed to come to XXX hospital immediately ma already asked someone to cover up our shift" not a second later Cardan left running as fast as he could trying to reach the hospital.
After an hour he arrived and raced to the reception where he was told him which room he was in. As soon as he arrived he saw Remy in the hospital bed covered in bandages on his face.
His fists began to clench as he watched Remy "What the hell happened" Cardan said his voice menacing some much so it caused Easton to move away from him. He was used to a 'bubbly' version of him.
"Austin and his gang happened. Apparently he was staring at Austin for too long which caused him to call his friends... at least that's what the passabys said and from what I hear that was supposed to be your shift" Easton gritted out the last bit.
Cardan was frozen it was all his fault if he had just done the damn shift, if he hadn't asked Remy to watch out for him and he had just gone along with his plans.
"It's my fault" Cardan said after a while he didn't even feel he deserved to enter his room. But those who did this to Remy deserved what was coming to them.
He turned away from the door planning on making his way home to change his clothes and something to cover his face.
"Where are you going and what will you do?" Easton asked from inside the room.
"You know exactly what I'm going to do" Cardan replied before he left.
