Kapitel 11: Spirit Animals - Finally!!!
'Spirit animals?' Iris said utterly confused as Zayn just stared at his trainer like she just said fire freezes ice.
At that moment nothing could stop the excitement that shone in my eyes as I stared at Coral as my body visibly shook from excitement.
I'm very sure Aiden noticed as he tried to cover his laughter even though I saw his shoulders shaking from my side view.
'That's right', Daniel said 'Your spirit animal is a part of your subconscious that serves as a guide.' 'It also helps deepen your connection to your spirit and your powers', Jaxon added.
'So which animal do we get exactly?', Zayn asked.
'We don't know which animal any of you have', Coral explained.
'Usually, your spirit animal is a representation of yourself. It's behavior and attitude resembles yours thereby enabling them to understand you more', Axel said.
'Okay. As interesting as your explanation is, how do we meet our spirit animals', I said a bit impatiently but I couldn't help it.
Ever since I heard about Arthur from Aiden, I've been waiting for the day I meet mine.
'No need to rush Amelia', Jaxon said shaking his head at my attitude. 'Coral will help you all with this while Axel and I will plan our departure', Jaxon said as he started walking out of the courtroom with Axel on his tail.
'What departure?', Iris asked
'We are going to plan for our journey to retrieve the scepter. We should be able to go in two weeks time, by then you will probably know more about your powers and how to control it', Axel explained.
We all just nodded as the two left and all focus was then on Coral as Daniel and Aiden started leaving.
'Hold on', Coral called to the latter 'I still need Aiden to show them how it is to summon their spirit animals.'
'Oh sure', Aiden replied as he stretched out his arm as we all stared at it. Zayn and Iris stared in anticipation but since I had already seen him do it before I just patiently waited for Arthur to appear.
Coral began to explain as Aiden followed with her explanations.
'Your spirit animal is still dormant at the back of your mind waiting to be awakened. You first have to be able to feel its presence before it can be awakened'
'Once you are able to wake it, it connects with your elemental powers and all that's left for you to do is to picture it taking a form in front of you', as Coral explained this, a gust of wind surrounded Aiden's hand as Arthur appeared.
Zayn and Iris stepped back a little from the shock of an eagle appearing out of nowhere while I just smiled at my feathery friend.
When Arthur saw me, he quickly left Aiden's arm and rested on my shoulder. I laughed when I saw the disbelief on Aiden's face.
'You traitor', he said pointing at Arthur. The bird simply rubbed its head against mine completely disregarding it's master.
'It seems Arthur likes Amelia better than you Aiden', Daniel said chuckling. 'No kidding', Aiden muttered clearly annoyed at his spirit animal.
'Arthur?' Iris asked as she inspected the bird on my shoulder. 'That's his name', Aiden answered.
'Okay maybe instead of looking at Arthur, we could actually start trying to see other spirit animals, don't you think?' Coral said.
'Sorry Coral', Aiden said as he waved his hands in the air as Arthur vanished.
After Arthur's disappearance, Daniel and Aiden decided to leave to continue their training.
'Good. Now Iris, why don't you try first', Coral said looking at Iris.
' Oh ,um... sure', she said as she stretched out her arm like Aiden did. 'What now?' she asked as she looked at Coral confused.
'Now close your eyes and concentrate. Imagine a figure at the back of your mind', Coral explained slowly as Iris closed her eyes.
'Can you see a figure?' Coral asked. 'Yeah I see like a shadow of something. It looks like its asleep', Iris answered opening her eyes.
'Good. Now try to wake it up', Coral said.
Iris closed her eyes again then started mumbling, 'Come on big guy wake up. You really like to sleep huh'.
Suddenly, Iris opened her eyes and fell backwards. 'Woah', she breathed. 'Are you okay?' Zayn asked as he helped her up.
'I'm fine', she answered. 'What happened?', I asked.
She smiled as she said, 'She woke up and let's just say she's not in the mood right now.'
'She?' Zayn questioned. Iris nodded, 'Yeah'
'That's great Iris but we still need to see her', Coral said getting our attentions.
'Of course, just tell me what to do', Iris replied looking at Coral and waited patiently for instructions.
'Alright, you have already woken your spirit animal so all you have to do now is summon it', Coral explained, 'Since she's awake, you should be able to feel her presence easily in your mind, all you have to do is visualize her in front of you.'
'Okay. Let me give it a go', Iris said as she closed her eyes. A few seconds later the ground in front of her burst into flames at a frightening height.
The flames disappeared and out of it appeared a huge red dragon.
'Woah! That is a she?', Zayn asked as I kept staring at the dragon wide eyed.
The dragon moved and surrounded Iris in a circle as it lay down, it's face resting on her outstretched arms as she stroked its head.
'Everyone meet Isla', Iris said as Isla roared.
'That's so cool. I'm so trying next', Zayn said as he closed his eyes. 'No way. I'm next', I said as I closed my eyes and concentrated.
I tried my best to remember everything Coral said when explaining to Iris.
I could hear the distant laugh of Iris but I blocked it out when I saw a black figure in my mind surrounded by light.
I stepped closer to the figure and tried to wake it up by shaking it a little. It let out a low growl but didn't exactly wake up so I decided to wake it up like I usually woke Zayn.
I got as close as I could and yelled at the top of my lungs. It let out a loud growl as I stepped back and opened my eyes.
Zayn still had his eyes closed and I saw Coral and Iris giving me expectant looks with Isla roaming behind them.
'Give me a sec', I said closing my eyes again.
'Okay boy, let's see what you look like' I said as I imagined the figure standing in front of me. I felt the temperature around me drop before I felt his presence and opened my eyes.
In front of me stood a large white wolf with mesmerizing blue eyes, its height slightly above my waist.
He shoved me lightly as he let out a huff. 'Sorry for the loud wake up call buddy', I said stroking his white fur.
Coral gasped as she saw the white wolf appear as she opened her mouth to speak.
Just then, Zayn's spirit animal appeared. A cute blue dolphin rested in his arms. 'No fair. I said I was next', Zayn whined.
'Well maybe next time be faster', I said as I stuck out my tongue. He only sulked more.
'So what are their names?', Iris asked
'Oh well...', I started before I was cut off by a voice in my head "Arctos" I quickly looked at the wolf beside me and realized it was his voice.
'His name's CJ', Zayn said. 'His is Arctos', I said.
'So mine's the only girl' Iris said, 'Hear that Isla, you're special.' The dragon just puffed out smoke in reply.
'This is truly amazing', Coral finally spoke.
'What's wrong?', I asked.
'You all have the same spirit animals as the first gifted ones', Coral exclaimed.
