Kapitel 33: The Execution of Felix's Plan

Felix's determination to set his plan into motion was unwavering. His foremost goal was to implicate a Gryffindor student in the upcoming prank. After careful observation and a thorough study of various Gryffindor students, he zeroed in on Peter Pettigrew. Felix had astutely noticed Peter's yearning for acceptance and popularity among James and his friends. He firmly believed that Peter's unbridled enthusiasm to stand out would inevitably lead him to shoulder the blame for the prank.

Methodically dissecting Gryffindor's past pranks, Felix familiarized himself with the boundaries he needed to adhere to. His mission was clear: execute a mischievous prank that wouldn't harm anyone, but would paint Gryffindor students as the likely culprits.

Understanding the critical role of timing and subtlety in his plan's success, Felix invested days refining his strategy, leaving no detail unattended. The imminent Quidditch match between Gryffindor and Slytherin seemed like the perfect backdrop for his scheme.

As the night preceding the Quidditch match unfolded, the atmosphere was charged with a mixture of excitement and anticipation. Felix stealthily entered the Room of Requirement, seamlessly infiltrating the Gryffindor common room under the cover of darkness. There, he surreptitiously placed a meticulously crafted love message within the pages of Peter's book, positioning it just so for maximum effect. Utilizing paper and ink pilfered from Slytherin students, he aimed to heighten the confusion surrounding the event. With his task completed, Felix discreetly retreated to his own room.

The following morning, Felix deliberately sidestepped the Room of Requirement, instead positioning himself in the common room. Pretending to be engrossed in a book, he patiently awaited the awakening of his fellow students. The day's impending Quidditch match added an air of leisure, causing the students to rise gradually. Xeno, curious as ever, approached Felix.

"Good morning! Aren't you joining the crowd to watch the game, as usual?" Xeno inquired.

With a sly smile, Felix responded, "No, today I plan to head to the library and get a head start on next week's homework."

Xeno's knowing expression revealed that he had expected Felix's response. The two friends shared a leisurely breakfast before the students dispersed, each getting ready for the match in their own way.

As the students left the dining hall, Felix observed Peter subtly distancing himself from his friends and making his way to the predetermined location. Confirming his suspicions, Felix recognized that Peter was guarding the love letter like a closely held secret. Satisfied with the success of this initial phase, Felix decided to leave Xeno's company, making his way towards the library to carry on his surveillance.

Stepping into the transformed Room of Requirement, Felix navigated the potion laboratory that lay within. He retrieved a vial bearing Peter's name, and with a hint of trepidation, took a careful sip. Despite the potion's repugnant taste, Felix found himself satisfied with the result. As he gazed into a mirror, he couldn't help but feel a swell of pride at the transformation he had achieved, from a Ravenclaw to an authentic Gryffindor student.

"Considering the effort and time I've invested, it's certainly worth the trouble," Felix muttered, reminiscing about the elaborate charade he had put on in front of Slughorn to secure the potion's ingredients.

Dressed in Gryffindor colors and garb, Felix positioned himself beside a concealed door near the entrance to the Slytherin Dungeon, poised to enact the next phase of his intricate plan.

With a bucket full of squirming worms in hand, Felix patiently awaited the opportune moment. As luck would have it, three first-year Slytherin students emerged from the dungeon. With a flick of his hand, Felix triggered the concealed door behind them, releasing the contents of the bucket upon them. Chuckling to himself, he added a taunt, "Remember to be kind to your fellow worms," before sauntering away, leaving the perplexed students in his wake.

Initially dumbfounded, the trio exchanged disbelieving looks before directing their simmering anger towards Peter. Fuelled by their fury, they gave chase to Felix, who expertly led them through twisting corridors and hidden passages. In the midst of his escape, Felix didn't miss a beat, peppering his flight with a string of insults that further fanned the flames of the Slytherins' determination.

As his diversion played out flawlessly, Felix made a beeline for the abandoned classroom that he had earlier mentioned to Peter. Simultaneously, he conjured a door beside the classroom, creating the illusion of his entrance. With a skillful move, Felix slipped into the room of requirement through a concealed entrance, his heart pounding with anticipation.

Inside the classroom, Peter nervously awaited the arrival of the mystery sender of the love letter. However, his anticipation quickly turned to shock as the door swung open, revealing three incensed Slytherin students. The reality of the situation hit Peter like a ton of bricks, and he scanned the room frantically for a means of escape, his heart racing.

Unseen through a small opening, Felix watched the events unfold, his own heart racing in rhythm with Peter's escalating panic. As the Slytherin students confronted Peter, their disdain was palpable, their words dripping with venom. One of them sneered, "Running won't do you any good, you pathetic rat."

Peering through the small opening, Felix felt a surge of satisfaction. Taking a calculated sip from a vial labeled "Antidote," he transformed back into his original form just in time to witness the Slytherins corner Peter. The stage was set for the next phase of his elaborate plan.

With a sense of purpose, Felix seized another potion vial, this one labeled "Mike," belonging to a student who had suffered a recent injury during a flight lesson. Using the potion, Felix took on Mike's appearance, ensuring he had the fearful expression down pat. He slapped his face twice to mirror Mike's panicked demeanor, then sprinted towards the Gryffindor common room.

Upon his arrival, Felix's urgency was unmistakable as he cried out, "Help! Slytherin students have trapped Peter in a classroom, and they're attacking him!"

The urgency of Felix's plea resonated deeply with the Gryffindor students, who reacted with a mixture of concern and outrage. A fourth-year student stepped up, his voice oozing determination as he reassured Felix, "Don't worry, we've got this. We're going to save Peter." With a sense of purpose, the students quickly mobilized, rushing to Peter's aid and leaving Felix momentarily behind.

With the success of his diversion validated, Felix discreetly returned to the Room of Requirement. There, he drank the antidote, reverting back to his original form. Resuming his Ravenclaw robes, he ventured into the library, taking up his familiar corner. Immersed in his studies once again, Felix couldn't help but feel a swell of satisfaction at the seamless execution of his meticulously crafted plan.
