Kapitel 40: The Lazy Young Master

"Ugh. I'm so bored."

Asher laid under the shade of a tree with a stalk of grass in his mouth as he stared into the sky.

"Who's that kid?"

"Him? Ignore him. He's just an idiot who decided to skip classes."

"What a wastrel. His parents must have sacrificed a lot for him to be here. Even if he's noble, that doesn't mean he should let their efforts go down the drain. I heard that those aristocrats had to pay in gold, but here's their heir, whiling away his time and their money."

A few students would occasionally curse at Asher's lackadaisical behaviour whenever they spotted his figure under the tree.

It had been a week since classes had begun; approximately 8 days since the assembly and yet, Asher had managed to build up a notorious image for himself, especially in the eyes of the commoners. As it is well known, the children of commoners weren't able to access the massive resources and wealth possessed by nobles, so they had things difficult while growing up. Hence, some of them, especially the prideful and despicable ones, harboured hatred towards nobles and their children. First Dawn Academy was an academy that brought together the kingdom's greatest talents of both noble households and commoners, so it was inevitable that these children would be proud of themselves for making it thus far out of thousands of children. In other words, there was no lack of lowborns who held disgust and envy towards the young nobles in the academy. So, when they saw Asher lazying around the campus instead of attending classes, their hidden emotions flared up, and they were further irritated that such a child was of a more decent birth than they were.

However, Asher didn't even give a sh*t about what these children thought or said. As far as he was concerned, forget these children, even nobles were of lower value or quality to him. Heck, he was a reincarnated Celestial Emperor, so if even he had no issues being in the same environment with them, who were they to look at him in disgust?

As for why Asher was lazying about instead of attending classes, the reason was quite obvious. He was a former Celestial Emperor who had a lifespan of a few million years before he died mysteriously. During those millions of years, apart from cultivating, fighting battles and searching for treasures, Asher (in the form of Yi Feng) had studied a lot of subjects and arts. From civil to military, medicine to martial arts, he had focused on all fields of study. Alchemy, potion-refining, forging, refining, formations, he had studied them all. With Asher reincarnating with his soul and memory intact, it could be said that he was a walking library. The degree of knowledge he possessed, if written down in books, could occupy the entire Great Dawn kingdom effortlessly.

While it was true that the world of the 33 heavenly planes was different from the world of the Kirin continent, excluding the different energy systems and energy, the differences only existed on a superficial level. Asher had discovered this after he was able to convert techniques of his previous world to suit this and when he had attended his first class.

The first class he ever attended talked about the basics of energy and mana. However, Asher knew all of these as the explanations were pretty much the same as the ones in the world of the 33 heavenly planes. Heck, they were even poorer in essence compared to the ones he knew of. Comparing the words of the lecturer in the class to the knowledge he held was like matching the knowledge of a fifth-grade science student with that of the legendary scientist Albert Einstein; this wasn't even worth comparing! The other classes he had attended in the following two days were also the same; backwater knowledge in contrast to what he knew.

Truthfully, Asher felt that if he took on the role of a lecturer in the academy, he would be able to boost the overall strength of the kingdom by at least five levels. But why would he? After all, this was the land of his future enemy, and he had no attachments to it whatsoever, only to his family. Apart from that, who would allow a 12-year-old to take charge of the education of the academy? Even if he exposed his knowledge, h would most likely be taken away by the Purple Sun sacred land and made to write down all he knew for them. That would require miles and miles of paper. Such intense labour held no appeal to the young lord.

Since the school had nothing to teach him, but as his father had already enrolled him in it, Asher decided to remain here, but he skipped the classes and spent most of his time cultivating. Yes. Although he kept on a lazy outlook, Asher was stealthily training. By making all think that the young master of the Arnhaunt family was a lazy brat, he was killing two birds with one stone; making the royal family drop their guard and not bother about him while improving his strength for the promotional exams.

It should be recalled that Asher's Chaos-Origin body was seen as a null body; a physique that made practising magic exceedingly difficult. So while others would improve normally, Asher would have to work twice or even thrice as hard to improve at the same rate as they do. Hence, spending time in classes was deemed unreasonable for him, and he would instead use that time to improve on his strength.

'If only I was in my past world. I should have already reached the Foundation Establishment stage by now. That should be the same strength level as a Guardian. Maybe even the second meridian would have been opened.' Asher sighed.

That was just how terrifying the Chaos-Origin body was. Reaching the second stage of the Guardian rank at the mere age of 12. However, this wasn't the limit; this was an approximation done with the resources Asher had in hand. If he had better ones, he might have opened the fourth mana point instead. Sadly, his physique wasn't so amazing in this world.

"Hey. What the hell is wrong with you? Why are you so resigned to being useless?"

A young feminine voice brought Asher's attention back to reality.

'Ugh. This female tiger is back again.'
