Kapitel 15: Page 71-75

The metal supports land on Lizard. He manages to stand up a little but is immediately knocked back down when the roof caves in, crushing him underneath a pile of rubble.

Spider-Woman takes a breath, but notices that Lizard's hand shrinks and returns to a normal human hand.

SPIDER-WOMAN (cont'd)

No...

She jumps down, landing on her rough leg and nearly collapsing. She rushes over and, despite the pain, digs up a battered and bruised Peter.

SPIDER-WOMAN (cont'd)

Peter!

Gwen holds Peter in her arms.

GWEN

What did you do?

Peter looks at her with teary eyes.

PETER

Did I help save the day too?

Gwen is taken aback.

GWEN

Yes... Of course.

PETER

Good... I thought you could... Use some help.

Gwen caresses Peter's face. His eyes begin to slowly close.

GWEN

No, not now Pete. Stay awake, keep looking at me!

Peter looks for a second.

PETER

You're so pretty.

GWEN

Stay with me, please.

Gwen gently shakes Peter.

Peter starts to go limp.

GWEN (cont'd)

Peter, please. Please don't leave me alone!

Gwen's tears fall onto Peter's face.

George enters, gun drawn.

GEORGE

Put your hands up and step away from the body!

Gwen gently sets Peter down.

GEORGE (cont'd)

I SAID, put your hands up and step away from the body!

GWEN

(Whispering)

I'm so sorry Peter...

Gwen fires a web up and swings away. George shoots, one bullet hits Gwen in her right thigh. She grunts.

Officer Jefferson enters. George walks over to Peter's body and holsters his gun, cradling him.

GEORGE

PETER! No!

JEFF

What happened?

George looks up at the hole in the roof where Spider-Woman left.

GEORGE

Spider-Woman...

JEFF

What? Spider-Woman? No, man, she wouldn't do this. I mean, she saved a bus full-

GEORGE

She did this.

JEFF

I don't like how you sound right now, Captain.

INT. STACY APARTMENT - MOMENTS LATER

Outside in the streets, Gwen swings from building to building. With both legs bleeding she is in complete agony.

She lands on the wall to her apartment, slipping as she does, and opens the window into the bathroom.

She hops over to the door and closes the latch before hoping back over to the medicine cabinet and taking out some bandages. She struggles to keep herself from crying.

Time passes. Gwen has changed out of her suit but is still patching herself up in the bathroom. She hears a knock on the door.

GEORGE (O.S.)

Gwen? Gwen, you in there?

Gwen wipes away her tears.

GWEN

Y-yeah, what's up?

GEORGE

There's... There's been an accident. Involving Peter.

Gwen shakes. Her eyes begin to well up once more.

GEORGE (cont'd)

I'm sorry you had to hear it from me, but...

George's voice trembles.

GEORGE (cont'd)

Hey, just know that I'm here for you okay baby. I love you.

George turns away before looking back at the bathroom door.

GEORGE (cont'd)

I have to go file the report, I'll be back as soon as I can. Please, please, don't do anything. I'll be back as soon as possible, okay?

Gwen breaks down as her dad leaves the apartment. The bite on her leg bleeds the most, it trickles down her leg.

INT. SCHOOL - DAY

Gwen gently pushes through the hallways, through the students blocking her way. They don't realize that Peter is gone. But Flash does. He looks at Gwen from a distance with sympathetic eyes.

She opens her locker and finds a note, written by Flash. A measly "I'm sorry" is written on the note. She looks back to see Flash disappear in the crowd of students.

Gwen slips the note in her pocket and forces Peter's locker open. Pictures line the inside of his door. She takes them all but looks deeper into a particular one. Peter, Gwen, Ben and George, all smiling together, in front of a sunset, wearing rock climbing gear. A teardrop hits the picture and Gwen rushes away from prying eyes.

INT. NEW YORK, STREETS - NIGHT

Gwen stands in an alley, she holds her suit in the pouring rain. Jameson Monologues over.

JAMESON (V.O.)

Spider-Woman. It seems she was a menace at last. Following the destruction, and near deaths, suffered from the skirmish between Spider-Woman and Scorpion on the Brooklyn Bridge, last week, it seems she has gone missing.

CUT TO:

INT. COURTROOM

Scorpion stands before a judge in chains, accusing Norman of torture and human rights violations.

JAMESON (V.O.) (cont'd)

GOOD RIDDANCE I SAY! Along with this, the long awaited trial between Scorpion and Norman Osborn has come to a close. OBVIOUSLY HE'S INNOCENT. Who in their right mind would believe a villainous monster with no proof over a man with actual evidence to defend himself?

BACK TO:

EXT. NEW YORK, STREETS

JAMESON (V.O.) (cont'd)

Honestly I think we can all sleep better at night, knowing that we cannot be robbed by the Prowler, killed by Scorpion and vandalized by Spider-Woman.

Gwen walks away from the trash can where the Spider-Woman suit lays slumped over the edge, tattered and stained.

JAMESON (V.O.) (cont'd)

Thank god, that menace is Spider-Woman no more. I've been J Jonah Jameson, coming to you from the Daily Bugle Podcast.
