This large main ship also had the support of 2 medium sized ships and 5 small ships but they were definitely not a match for the large number of bandits and were getting overwhelmed.

According to that, for a pirate group, having just one medium sized ship was a very big deal, so it was completely unheard of for a pirate group to actually have not two or three but seven freaking medium sized ships in their rank.
