Song Yuan was very nervous and a bit scared. He had never faced such a terrible opponent before. He had used a communication magic item to ask for help from the Danclesiv army. So he wanted to buy some time for the help to arrive. 

Elena arrived close to the fortress and scanned the whole place. She was able to easily see atrocities that were happening inside the fortress. In the other sub-strongholds there were no captives present so she was able to use a large area of effect spells to completely destroy them but she couldn't do with the main one with several innocent captives.
