Professor Smith might be planning something!
However, Albert couldn't guess what it was, but he felt that it had something to do with him.
It wasn't that he had a severe case of delusions of persecution, but his previous Divination prophecy still hadn't come true. Reluctantly, Albert felt that his Divination might actually be accurate, especially with the support of his Skill Panel.
If Albert didn't have a Skill Panel, he definitely wouldn't have believed in these supernatural prophecies. At least, he wouldn't have believed in his own prophecies. But now that he had the Skill Panel, the accuracy of the prophecy was up for debate.
By the way, Izabel also had a similar prophecy result; Albert wondered if it had come true?
Albert didn't ask. He felt that even if he did, the other person would just give him a strange look. Izabel didn't believe in Sybil Trelawney's divination. After all, the Divination professors at Hogwarts didn't seem very reliable.
And, the more of a genius someone was, the more they believed in their own judgment.
"What are you doing?"
"Divination!" Albert flipped through his Rune Divination book and compared his own prophecy result to the content in the book.
"Is this thing accurate?" Lee Jordan clearly didn't believe in divination, "I've heard that the Divination professor at Hogwarts is a big fraud."
"I've heard similar rumors." Albert closed the book and let out a sigh. The prophecy result didn't quite match his guesses.
It was quite vague, only hinting at something.
Indeed, using a crystal ball for predictions seemed more reliable.
"Next year, we plan to take Divination. I heard it's an easy class, and even if we fail the exam, it doesn't matter." Fred suddenly interjected, "Then, there's Care of Magical Creatures. Charlie said that class is really interesting."
"Divination requires talent!" Albert shook his head, "Without talent, no matter how hard you work, it won't matter. As for Care of Magical Creatures, Professor Kettleburn is quite old. In a few more years, he might retire. I hope he can hold out until we finish the course."
"I feel like Professor Kettleburn might retire not because he wants to, but because of your words just now," George couldn't help but comment.
Albert rolled his eyes and put away the Rune Divination tools, shifting his focus to his homework.
The matter with Professor Smith was indeed bothering Albert. He felt that he should do something before the professor left Hogwarts.
Facing possible future events unprepared wasn't in Albert's character. Being prepared, even if the preparation was unnecessary, would prevent him from panicking when things happened.
"I'm planning to practice my defense against Dark Magic." Albert spoke in a voice only the few around him could hear, "I'll be practicing in that room. Will you guys join me?"
The three of them looked at each other, puzzled by why Albert suddenly invited them to practice magic together.
"I'm planning to enter the Forbidden Forest to look for Gryffindor's treasure. Before that, I need to be fully prepared." Albert explained to the three of them once they were in the Room of Requirement.
Of course, this was just an excuse Albert came up with.
His defense against Dark Magic was actually quite average. He lacked experience in using spells in combat. Therefore, he intended to have his three roommates accompany him as practice partners.
"I thought you..."
"The Forbidden Forest is very dangerous. I'm against heading in recklessly." Albert shrugged, "If we're going in, we need to be fully prepared. Even if our so-called preparations are useless, we should still do them. Rushing in without any lucky protagonist aura will definitely result in death."
Albert was aware he didn't have Harry Potter's protagonist luck, so he believed in being prepared. Even if the preparations turned out to be in vain, it wouldn't hurt to increase his combat capabilities.
"When do we start?" Fred and George both looked eager, and Lee Jordan seemed equally excited. Practical experience was the most interesting part of defense against Dark Magic. However, what they learned in class might not be as practical as what they could learn from Albert. They all knew Albert was quite skilled, so they were eager to learn some useful spellcasting techniques from him.
"Don't be hasty. You guys need to start practicing from the most basic spells." Albert whispered, "And you must all learn the 'Spider Scatter' spell."
Strengthening their combat experience through practice was currently the most sensible plan Albert could think of. This way, he could also compensate for his lack of experience in this area.
"But we already know the spells," Fred and George said in unison.
"Just knowing them doesn't mean you know how to use them. Wizard battles are more than just casting spells at each other," Albert shook his head, "In the Forbidden Forest, facing a Blast Hex head-on isn't frightening. What's frightening is being ambushed by them."
"Let's begin. Take turns using the Impediment Jinx on me."
"On you?"
"I'll try to block it with the Armor Charm. Alright, let's start." Albert pointed, "George, you go first. Fred next, then Lee Jordan."
"Sure thing, here I come." George grinned. They had already learned the Impediment Jinx last year.
"Obstacles abound."
Watching the incoming hexes, Albert's heart skipped a beat. This feeling wasn't good, as if someone was shooting a gun at you.
"Armor protects."
Albert whispered the incantation while flicking his wand, attempting to block the hexes. The Impediment Jinxes coming toward him collided with the Armor Charm and dissipated like ripples.
"The spell's power is too weak, and remember to cast the spell louder. Don't tell others what spell you're using." Albert commented casually, "Fred..."
Albert had the three of them take turns casting spells on him, practicing the use of the Armor Charm to counter spells. Fred, George, and Lee Jordan's task was to try to hit Albert with their Impediment Jinx as effectively as possible.
Of course, Albert couldn't block all the spells. Under the continuous attack from the three of them, he couldn't avoid having his attention diverted a few times.
However, the magical strength of the three wasn't particularly strong, and the effects of the Impediment Jinx were limited, at most causing him to fall to the ground.
"Now, how do you guys feel?" Albert asked, catching his breath.
"The Impediment Jinx is pretty ordinary." Fred chimed in, "We want to learn stronger spells."
"It's not that you don't know how to use them, but the Impediment Jinx you're using has insufficient magical power to effectively block opponents. At the very least, you need to reach the level where you can knock a person off their feet." Albert raised his wand, and with a casual wave, Lee Jordan was sent flying with a great force, crashing into a pile of cushions.
"Wow!"
Fred and George both exclaimed, wide-eyed, as they watched Lee Jordan fly away.
"Are you okay?" Albert reached out to help Lee Jordan up.
"Not really, are we really using the same spell?" Lee Jordan was a bit frustrated. No wonder Albert wanted them to practice the Impediment Jinx—there was quite a gap here!
"Take a break for now. In the following time, continue taking turns using the Impediment Jinx on me." Albert sat down on a cushion, popped a piece of hard candy into his mouth, and handed some to his nearby roommates as well, continuing, "Most wizards have fragile bodies, so we don't need to specifically practice more powerful spells. It's about being faster, more agile, and launching a continuous assault. As long as you concentrate your spells on the opponent and make them struggle, it's enough. Even a Levitation Charm can have unimaginable effects."
"You make it sound like you have a point." Fred grumbled, "But what if the opponent uses strong protective magic to shield themselves? I remember you also know those powerful protective spells."
He really wanted to learn that.
"Don't be silly. When fighting against wizards, if you do that, you'll only become a target. Against stronger Dark wizards, you'll definitely have a hard time."
