"I do," she replied, her voice barely audible. At this point, she felt compelled to agree with whatever he said, fearing that he might turn cruel and subject her to the same torment as Sarah.

She couldn't fathom why they were going to such great lengths to get rid of her. True, she understood that she had become an obstacle for them, but weren't they taking things to an extreme?

Aurora had never seduced Damien or coerced him into binding her to a contract, it had been his own choice. Why weren't they holding him accountable? She almost welled up with tears at the thought of Damien. 

He turned out to be worse than she had ever imagined. She had envisioned things working out between them if Theresa's plan succeeded, but she could never have anticipated such devastating news. What if he needed a way to get rid of her, because he felt she was tainting his reputation?
