Kapitel 19: True colors of a fiancee

His next words caught her off guard, causing her to choke on her drink. He was about to offer her his handkerchief, but she had already taken one out and started using it to wipe the juice stain on her dress.

"I am sorry about that," Damien apologized, though he felt no remorse for what had happened to her. How dare they pair him with a woman who was already tainted? He couldn't wait to confront the elders about it.

"It's not your fault," she suddenly wore a pathetic look and continued, "I have tried dating a lot of men, but it always ends after one date, and they never call back." Damien almost bit his tongue at her revelation. If all her dates had failed, then was she still innocent?

He cursed his luck inwardly, lateness was not a sufficient reason to call off the marriage idea. He needed something stronger to end the marriage without leaving any loopholes.
