As Marcus remained immobilized, the surroundings had become deathly quiet with the feint-otherworldly sounds of the portal being the only thing anyone could hear.

Yet after a few more seconds had passed, even those sounds stopped as the portal once again closed.

Right now, Cyril and Oliver remained in front of Marcus with tense expressions as they watched the omen before them cautiously. Neither of the two doubted Ava's skills in holding Marcus, but that feeling they'd gotten earlier had shaken them quite a bit.

Marcus's killing intent couldn't be compared to what the two had experienced before, but it wasn't something to shrug at either, especially when it occurred so close to them. For a moment, they could have sworn they felt every ounce of hatred Marcus had bottled up inside himself, and it was.... disturbing.

For Oliver, someone who'd only experienced killing intent twice in his lifetime, Marcus's instantly grabbed his attention.
