CHAPTER 10: HEADING TO WATER TOWN
Noctis and Faye made it inside the guild to see Dain, Krox, Ruri, and Goblin Slayer.
Ruri immediately ran up to them "We have an urgent quest."
Noctis kept a neutral face under his mask "Let me guess. Goblins?"
Goblin Slayer came up "Goblins."
Noctis continued as Goblin Slayer ran over at the mention of Goblins "It's in Water Town. We get a bag of gold each upon completion."
Faye smirked "Well looks like we have to go otherwise Mr. Goblin Slayer here would go all by himself."
Noctis nodded "He absolutely would."
Noctis was ready to go an asked "When do we leave?"
Goblin Slayer started to walk out "Right now."
Noctis grabbed him by the shoulder "Hold up. Faye an I have to turn in our quest real quick."
Goblin Slayer turned back around "Goblins?"
Noctis face palmed his mask "No Griffins. Not everything is about slaying goblins."
Noctis and Faye went to fill out their reports. Once the reports were finish Noctis felt his phone vibrate. He was confused on what could have triggered it but decided to check it later.
When they both reached outside, they saw Ruri waiting by the front door to the guild.
Ruri smiled "Come on. We already have a carriage set up to take us to Water Town."
Noctis chuckled along with Faye. He shrugged "Well the guy is efficient when it comes to goblins."
Once everyone was in the carriage, they started to make their way towards Water Town. By carriage it was only half a day away. So, they should make it there by mid-day. Noctis and Faye both decided to sleep until they arrived. So, the rest were in charge of making sure they were aware enough in case of an ambush. Ambushes were rare but not impossible.
Six hours later
It was the middle of the day in Water Town. The group had just arrived through carriage. Water Town is a bright, white city of stone in the middle of a large lake. There are several bridges that connect the town to mainland. Within the city as well are channels that many use to boat across the town. The town was very prosperous as it's good and wares were unique.
It also helped that the Sword Maiden who helped defeat the Devil King was a Priestess in the city which also attracted a lot of attention.
The carriage had finally arrived inside water town.
Ruri looked over and saw that Faye and Noctis were still asleep. They both leaned their heads on each other. Ruri thought it was very cute.
Ruri had a mischievous smirk and yelled "Hey guys we are here!!!"
They both slowly opened their eyes as they looked around. They saw everyone staring at them with a smirk that said, 'we know more then you.'
They both widened their eyes. Noctis and Faye both blushed however you could only see Faye blush since Noctis had the face mask. This still caused everyone to laugh as they all started to get out.
Once they were all out Noctis stretched a bit an asked "So should we set up at an inn somewhere first or should we go straight to the mission?"
Goblin Slayer immediately said "Mission."
Noctis sighed "I don't even know why I asked."
Everyone bedsides Goblin Slayer mentally thought 'Neither do we.'
As they made their way through the city to the center where the church is they were all in awe about how beautiful this city was. Ruri smiled "After the mission we need to explore the city more."
Faye nodded "This city really is beautiful. It must be explored. It can be a little adventure."
Krox scratched under his chin "I have heard the fish that is prepared here is to die for."
Dain started to laugh "The alcohol as well."
Noctis smirked "Care for a drinking and eating contest after then?"
Dain started to laugh harder "You think you can out drink me kid?"
Noctis shrugged "I can be a heavy weight."
Dain wiped a tear from his eye "We will see kid."
After a couple more minutes they had reached the church. The church itself was also on its own little island on the center of town. It was surrounded by water with one bridge linking it to the rest of the town. The Church was known as The Temple of Law.
Noctis did have to admit the Temple was truly a beautiful sight. Ruri was super excited "Isn't it amazing? Don't you think Goblin Slayer?"
Goblin Slayer was not even looking at the Temple "Is it?"
Ruri immediately started to pout. Faye asked, "So the person who requested us is here?"
Goblin Slayer started to head towards the temple "Yeah they said we could meet them in there."
Ruri asked, "Is the client a priest of the Supreme God?"
Goblin Slayer kept walking "No they're the archbishop of the Supreme God."
Ruri dropped her staff and quickly picked it back up. She began to mutter something. The rest started to walk forward towards the Temple. Noctis went in front of Ruri "Hurry up I'm sure the archbishop doesn't want to be kept waiting."
They made their way inside and Noctis immediately let out a whistled "The art on the walls makes this place even more beautiful."
The rest of the group nodded in agreement. Noctis continued "So a quest from the Sword Maiden? One to do with Goblins no less. This should be interesting."
Ruri's eyes widened "Noctis are you not nervous to meet the Sword Maiden?"
Noctis shook his head "No. Just sounds like another girl adventurer to me. I mean she obviously did save the world but I'm sure she is just like anyone else."
They eventually made their way to the altar. Room where they saw the blind priestess.
