Kapitel 44: Everyone prepares

After stumbling, falling on the bed, and hitting his feet on the edge of the closet, Angelo feels his blood boiling. Anette is giggling as she looks at the boy. It was funny to see a grown-up struggling to catch her. Also, the way he swore everything that he hit himself by mistake with, was extremely hilarious for the little girl.

Angelo stops in the middle of the room. A thought is passing his mind.

'She won't know I used my vampire vision …. right?' Activating his power, he went towards her with small steps faking his stumbles. She is caught in a hug, unable to escape.

"Gelo, you cheated! "Anette is glaring at him as the boy takes the scarf off his eyes. He smirks.

"Of course, I did. You are too hard to catch without cheating. "He says honestly, knowing that the girl will appreciate his sincerity.

She is pouting." How about we play my game?" Angelo hugs her as they are on the bed, tired of running after her. Almost half an hour passed.

The girl seems to lighten up but she is still pouting, "What game …" She glances at the boy curious.

"This." Angelo starts to tickle her and she bursts into laughter. Anette is giggling as the boy attacks her around her belly.

The boy looks at her and smiles. Having kids wasn't so bad. The dark room they are staying in is lightened by the girl's laughter. He wonders if he will be able to protect the girl's smile.

Anette looks at him as the boy seems lost in thought, his hands stopped tickling her.

"Are you missing your mom too …?" Her words pull him out of his reverie. Anette continues, "I miss my mom …"

Angelo looks at her and pats her head." You will see her soon …. but you have to promise that you will not go to her. Got it?" He instructs the girl beforehand, as she unwraps the problem he wanted to talk to her about sooner or later.

"Why?" Her eyes were sad.

The boy comes up with an idea. "We are spies. Your mom is not supposed to see us. This is the next game we will play." He looks at the girl and she replies excitedly." A game! Let's play it! "

Angelo feels relieved that she fell for his trap. This way she will most likely be obedient and listen to him. She really liked to play games!

"In two days, we will play the game. Till then we have to prepare our disguises." He smiles and rubs his chin," I am counting on you for that." The boy pats the girl's brown curly hair. In his eyes, she looked like a little sheep.

"Yey! I will do a good job. Mom won't even recognize us." She looks viciously at the boy who flinches. She had sort of a dark aura.

Angelo calms himself down, hoping that he was mistaken.

'What can she do except for choosing some clothes ?.... Right?'

~ In the castle

Dina is the library she discovered with Mary's help. Her back leans on the shelf's wooden frame. The afternoon sun shone on her from the window. Her eyes are reading with a focus on the book she is holding on her legs.

Last night she went to Stefan and practiced the whole night how to use some self-defense spells. She teleported to the castle in the sunrise.

That was her routine for the past few days. She will have to be able by the time the wedding takes place, to seal a vampire in a crystal.

Stefan was very ruthless with her training, as he put her into practice hundreds of times the spells that she learned.

'My voice is hoarse from all the spells I said …. sigh …' She feels her body heating up, and her muscles hurting. The grandma, put her to do some running since he said, she quotes "Your too fat to be able to fit in the wedding dress."

Not to mention that he put her to swim in the lake. And it was dark! She did it though. The man scared her more than what was in the lake or the darkness surrounding her.

Steps are heard in the main corridor of the library.

She is raising her eyes and she makes eye contact with August. He stands right in front of the window.

"What are you doing?" He asks while closing the distance between them. She glances at him, "I am curious to know more about vampires…..After all, I will be the Queen in a few more days. "

"You have dark circles under your eyes …. Have you been sleeping well?" The boy squats down and looks worried at her face.

"Hmmm…. Maybe I read too much ….?" She smiles in a twisted way and avoids his gaze, looking at the book. She tried to hide the hoarse voice by talking less loudly.

"You should take it easy …. I will be the one leading the Circle, you can do what you want." Angelo glances at the book she has placed on her legs, which are stretched.

"Maybe your right …" She glances at the boy. Her eyes stink from the lack of sleep. Dina rubs her eyes with her fingers.

"Of course, I am right …look at yourself! You are like a zombie rather than a vampire …" He lets a short laugh." You shouldn't stay in the sunlight. Maybe I should teach you how to cast a skin protection."

He examines her arms which are hot and dry skin starts to form as he rubs them.

"Really …" She looks at the dry skin he rubs off her. Her voice whispers …" Didn't knew that …."

"Remember when my father kept me naked in the wedding room? He told me not to use protection. We vampires need to use a spell that protects us from sunlight."

August talks to her as he glances at the girl who seems too tired to understand what his saying. As he talks some more, she closes her eyes. Her head falls towards him.

With a quick movement, he catches her head on his arm.

"I can't let her here …. Let 's go to your room." He murmurs as he takes her in his arms. Teleporting, he arrives in her room.

The boy puts her on the bed and covers her with the blanket. Looking at her, he smirks and places a kiss on her forehead.

After a short while he leaves the room, sensing that Sebastian is in the castle.

Both meet in the hall. Sebastian sits on his chair, and August comes down the stairs.

"Father!" He smiles as he takes his sits on his chair.

Sebastian seems lost in thought, never this happening to him. The boy looks vile at the man.

'This time you will suffer the same way I did …. your precious Lily will be killed right in front of you.'

The man glances at August." How's the Queen?" Using a napkin, he blows his nose.

"She is fine …I just put her to sleep. She seemed a little tired." The boy feels like laughing about the fact that his father managed to catch a cold. How much did he stand in the rain? He maintains his composure and informs Sebastian.

"What got her tired? Perhaps you?" He lets a short laugh and glares at the boy." I never said I wanted grandchildren before the wedding." He takes a cigarette and puffs with pathos.

"No, father …I would never do that …" August feels embarrassed but scared by the glare his father displayed.

"Of course, you won't. You're a scaredy cat too …just like everyone." Sebastian closes his eyes letting out a disappointed sigh.

August knows that even if he had the balls to do it, his father would still be mad at him and maybe the outcome would have been worse than just a few ego-crushing words from the man. The boy breathes and grips his chair's handles.

"..." He doesn't respond.

"What got her tired then?" Sebastian frowns.

"She is into reading vampire books …She wants to be knowledgeable about vampires, for the Queen's role. "August looks at the man who smirks.

"That's the Queen for you …Good!" The man takes the fork and points it towards the boy." If she will not be fresh till the wedding, we will talk about that after the wedding. I want everything perfect. Do you understand?"

The man glares at the boy who nods saying, "I understand, father."

"You only have to take care of her, the rest is in my hands. Don't blow it like always. This is your last chance." Sebastian stands up and puts the cigarette in the ashtray.

August stiffens." I will do my best!"

The man says," I will be away for a few days." He vanishes just like he came.

The boy breathed deeply and brushed his forehead which had sweat.

'So, he will go search for Lily ….'August concludes, not finding another reason why would he leave. The invitations for the wedding were given by him as he caught the lords and the higher-ups, the wedding hall was set ready since few days ago, and anything else related to the wedding was also done, what else?

'I have to talk to Marcus ….' August scratches his head.

After a quick check on Dina who was sleeping like a baby, he teleports to the underground base.
