Kapitel 162: The capitol in flames 2

In the adjacent buildings of the main square, several peacekeepers were making preparations to install snipers and heavy machine guns to defend themselves against the rebels.

Having discovered that their systems were somehow invaded by a much more powerful source, everyone knew that the only way to win was by fighting head-on. But if the peacekeepers were compared to the fearless rebels, there was a stark difference in power.

"Faster! At this rate, those rebels will reach President Snow's mansion right through the main square!"

The captain of this peacekeeper squad was extremely nervous about what was happening just a day before being discharged as a peacekeeper.

Just as everything was in place to initiate the defensive attack, the captain noticed several figures dressed in red walking with their hands covered by a type of cloth.

"Are they Avox?" Wondered the other peacekeepers.

"You, stop right there and turn around! Go to confinement or you'll be considered rebels!" the captain of the peacekeepers shouted as he walked towards the nearest Avox.

The Avox, who had found their voice and joined the rebellion, cautiously advanced toward the peacekeepers hiding in the surrounding buildings. Their faces reflected both fear and determination as they stealthily approached, aware of the imminent confrontation.

"Help us!" one of the Avox attempted to speak, breaking the rule of silence.

The peacekeepers, upon seeing the Avox approaching, issued threatening warnings, urging them to step back.

"Don't waste my time. Leave this place before I kill you!"

However, the Avox were not intimidated. Over a dozen of them, with knives in hand, courageously pounced on the peacekeepers, fearless of the consequences.

"They're attacking us!" Those words were cut off by a knife embedded in the peacekeeper captain's throat, blood staining the face of the Avox who killed him. After delicately taking his weapon, the Avox glanced at the frozen peacekeepers.

"Don't just stand there, attack!"

The sound of gunfire was heard, and the Avox wielding the weapon also attacked the peacekeepers.

The metallic sound of knives clashing against weapons resonated in the air as the Avox fiercely attacked. They cared not for their own safety; their sole objective was to eliminate the peacekeepers who had been their oppressors for so long.

With each peacekeeper falling under the sharp steel of the Avox's knives, another rebel took up their weapon and joined the fight. The onslaught was relentless, and the peacekeepers found themselves overwhelmed and surprised by the fierce resistance of those they had underestimated.

Chaos reigned as the remaining armed Avox joined the fray, armed now with confiscated firearms.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

They attacked from all directions, pursuing the peacekeepers who tried to flee or seek refuge. Justice and a thirst for freedom filled the air, propelling the Avox to fight with unwavering determination.

With each peacekeeper falling under the steel or bullets of the Avox, hope solidified in the hearts of the rebels. The streets became a battlefield, where the oppressed rose against their oppressors.

The somber silence and fear that had previously dominated the place were replaced by war cries and the determination of the rebels. The Avox, once enslaved and silenced, now stood as brave warriors ready to fight to the end.

Amidst the tumult of battle, the Avox demonstrated their loyalty and bravery. Fearless of wounds or death, they advanced with unwavering determination, determined to secure victory for the cause of the rebellion.

The Avox's attack and their tenacity in battle made it clear that they were no longer silenced slaves but warriors with a powerful voice that resonated in every strike and every victory. With their fierce determination, they continued to advance, eliminating peacekeepers in every corner of the district. The revolution became unstoppable.

"Attack!"

Boom!

The Capitol residents who were closer to President Snow's mansion had not been evacuated in time, but soon they discovered that the rebels were not attacking them. Just as Jacob had said, the rebels did not unleash their fury on the Capitol residents.

Faced with the possibility of being bombed or attacked, all the Capitol residents did not expose themselves and stayed in their homes without intervening in the unfolding attack.

Jacob had anticipated this behavior, so he never considered doing anything cruel to these people. His assistant, deprived of everything, had drawn a conclusion based on speculation and war emulation.

In the midst of the chaos and violence that ravaged Panem, the Capitol inhabitants found themselves in a bewildering situation. As the rebellion intensified and the districts rose up against the oppressive government, fear and uncertainty gripped those who had once lived comfortably under the Capitol's rule.

News of the riots and war in the districts had reached the ears of the Capitol inhabitants, who now found themselves in a position of vulnerability they were completely unfamiliar with. Fears about personal safety and the protection of their families had taken hold of them, filling them with unease and causing them to avoid being in the midst of the chaos.

Instead of risking facing the dangers lurking in the streets and squares of the Capitol, many citizens chose to stay in their homes, closing doors and windows in search of safety. They sought refuge in the familiarity of their personal spaces, trying to stay away from the whirlwind of revolution that threatened to destroy their old way of life.

Fear of the unknown and a sense of insecurity prevented them from directly facing the reality unfolding before them. They clung to the illusion of normalcy, hoping that the storm would pass and things would return to how they were before. They preferred to avoid any kind of confrontation or risk, wishing to protect themselves and their loved ones.

In their homes, the Capitol inhabitants remained attentive to the news and updates on the situation. Their hearts raced when they heard distant sounds of violence and the thunderous clashes. Every creak of the door in the wind or unexpected noise filled them with fear, constantly reminding them of the threat looming outside.

In this state of fear and caution, the Capitol inhabitants sought any sign of hope and stability. They yearned for the conflict to come to an end and for peace to be restored. However, they found themselves caught between the need to protect themselves and the reality that their old way of life and privileges could crumble completely.

Amidst their fear, some began to question the actions of the Capitol and reflect on the inequalities and oppression that had prevailed for so long. But for many, fear still dominated their thoughts and actions, preventing them from immersing themselves in the chaos surrounding them.

Thus, the Capitol inhabitants found themselves at a crossroads, battling the urge to face reality and clinging to the security their homes provided. Amidst fear and uncertainty, they longed for a future where they could live without fear again, but they did not know how or when that moment would come.

"To the right, Katniss!" Jacob warned after receiving a reminder from his intelligent assistant.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

"Where is President Snow?" Jacob, who was shooting at a peacekeeper, felt a blur as the blood of an ally who was shot in the head stained his vision.

"[Master, President Snow is watching everything from his mansion. I will keep you informed of any changes!]"

"Eliminate the sniper!" Finnick shouted after seeing a friend being eliminated.

"I'll take care of it!" Katniss said after taking an explosive arrow and shooting towards the sniper, who was in a very tricky position to eliminate.

Boom!
