Kapitel 56: Chapter 56: ANBU Drill

Their first training session was just to assess what level he was at. His team tested him in all areas of the Shinobi Arts, while fighting him in direct combat. And boy, they were not holding back; they literally were pushing him beyond his limit and keeping beating him.

They also assessed his level on the Shinobi basics, like Chakra Control, his Elemental Ninjutsu, and Shuriken Jutsu. Tekku was also taught more advanced levels of Chakra Control, like the Kunai Spinning technique.

His next three months were full of training since his Puppeteering was supposed to become a hidden trump card. He had to develop a new fighting style that let him fight on a similar level as before, which wasn't an easy thing to accomplish. But he needed to do it, or there would have been no purpose in becoming an ANBU, so he could keep growing in anonymity.

After his first day of training, every morning Guy would wake him up loudly at 4 in the morning to bring Tekku with him on his morning training routine. And he finally learned what Dragon meant when he said he would be having a lot of practice in Security Seals.

Once his first training with Guy was over, he decided he didn't want to follow that hellish routine. His own training was more than enough to reach a strong level. He didn't need levels of physical conditioning to be able to use something like the eight Gates; it wasn't simply his style.

So like any sensible Shinobi, he placed Security and Safety Seals around his apartment to keep that bushy-browed Jonin out of his apartment so early in the morning. But some asshole, which he assumed was Dragon, kept breaking his Seals. There was no way it was Guy; he wasn't a practitioner of Fuinjutsu beyond the basics.

And worse, this hurt his pride. He, who was planning to become a certified Sealing Master soon, couldn't place some Security Seals that would keep people out for a night. Dragon was most likely an Expert in the Art, and Tekku had focused more on Combat-oriented Seals, but still, it hurt his pride. Especially if he was uncomfortably woken up at 4 in the morning, put into green spandex because he wasn't ready himself yet, and forced to follow a hellish routine. Of course, he was now wearing weights because the standard routine wouldn't push him beyond his limits anymore.

After three hours of training with Guy, he would have some breakfast and meet up with one of his teammates in one of the ANBU training grounds. Mostly with either Yugao, who would teach him Kenjutsu in the morning and spar with him, or with Ryota, who was working on Taijutsu with him. Ryota, even though he was only 15, was a master in the Art of Taijutsu. As a Hyuga, he had good basics, but untypically he didn't rely on only the Gentle fist but developed his own hybrid style.

Sometimes when Yugao or Ryota were busy, he would also keep sparring with Guy or with Tenzo. Tenzo wasn't focusing on Taijutsu, but he was still not bad in the Art and was a welcome change of pace.

This would go on until lunch. After lunch, he had a few hours for his own training. During this time, he would work on either his Fuinjutsu or Earth Style. It was decided he should first master and learn some B and A-Rank Techniques before learning a new element, which he only didn't do before because he had no access to them. But as an ANBU, this was now different; he could choose one every month.

The first one he decided to learn was Earth Style: Wall, a B-Rank Technique. He already knew the smaller C-Rank counterpart, but with this one, he would be able to withstand larger-scale attacks of a far stronger degree. Even A-Rank techniques should be blockable. And since it was so big, he could use it to protect his comrades or even his puppets if he was using them, at the same time. And while he was already at it, he figured out its more advanced version by itself, Earth Style: Multiple Walls. Which was basically the same technique, just creating multiple at the same time, allowing one to have other walls if one got broken through.

Secondly, he chose a technique that would enhance his Taijutsu capabilities further and at the same time, his overall survivability. Earth Style: Spear, a technique that channels Earth nature Chakra all over his body, hardening it, making it as hard as a diamond. An amazing technique for Taijutsu and defense.

In the third month, he chose something more offensive in nature, as both of the previous techniques were more of a supportive and defensive kind. Without his puppets, he lacked serious firepower. Even with them, his high firepower relied on Explosive Tags or was highly situational and very Chakra consuming.

As the third technique, he chose Earth Style: Earth Pillar Explosion, a technique that lets the ground explode around the user, blowing and hurting all the opponents around him. It could be used offensively and defensively and was classified as a B-Rank Technique. It was quite good against a group of opponents.

With these three techniques, he had good variety for different combat situations. One on one, he would use Taijutsut with Earth Spear, and the other two were good for fighting against groups.

After his training was over, he trained either with Tenzo or Dragon. Tenzo was teaching him the different Ninjutsu required for his ANBU duties, techniques like the Shunshin, which he already knew but had to master to a seamless level first.

Others were the Chameleon Technique, which was only a C-Rank technique that made one invisible and quite easy to learn, but the true challenge was to keep it up. He would need to use it for hours during his Guard Duties as an ANBU in different critical areas of the Village, where ANBUs were always present but never seen, like the Hokage Office, the Hospital, the Gate, and various other critical infrastructure.

Another one was the Hiding in a Surface technique, which was similar to his Hiding like a mole Technique, one of his favorites, just more advanced and worked on all surfaces, not only earth. This was a technique he enjoyed highly learning.

Besides them, Tenzo or Yamato also helped him with his Earth Style, teaching him some tricks and training methods that he developed himself to master the element better.

Dragon, meanwhile, worked with Tekku on Genjutsu, teaching him some more advanced ones. But his main focus was on the detection and breaking out of them. Especially detecting them with his Sensing technique, on himself and his allies. Which was a valuable skill to have.

The ANBU Commander behind the Dragon Mask was a true master in the art, but that wasn't all; he would also give Tekku some tips for other techniques. Especially the Shunshin, which he seemed to be knowing quite well for some reason. He taught the young boy a few combat applications that could be used without being affected by the Tunnel Vision.

And in such a strenuous manner, his first three months in the ANBU went. Of course, that wasn't all they worked on; there were a lot more small things like Shurikenjutsu.
