Kapitel 46: Catalina Romano

I knew I would be too nervous to eat in the Romano household, so I skipped lunch so I'd be hungrier and eat a few bites at the very least. Yet, sitting at the same table as the man I've been curious about for years, food is the last thing on my mind. 

"Don't you like the food?" he asks when he realizes I'm not eating much. I've been unconsciously moving around the pasta on my plate with my fork. In comparison, Asher is wolfing down bites of food, highlighting my lack of appetite. 

"I'm not very hungry, I ate my lunch quite late," I lie. 

"You're not on a diet, are you?" Asher jokes, making light of the situation. He then grabs a drumstick with tongs and places it on my plate. "The best you will ever have." 

I force a smile. My stomach feels funny.
