"So, I'll go and talk to the commander about further orders, alright?" Dan said and Tsunade just nodded looking at the ground, she had not spoken a word since he started to talk about going back on the battlefield, but she had to say something now…
"I won't stop you but will you listen to a request of mine?" Tsunade spoke slowly and Dan nodded, he thought it wouldn't be something that big aside from her telling him to be extra careful.
"Can you give me that necklace back?" Tsunade pointed at the necklace on Dan's neck and…
"W-What? Tsunade?" Dan was shocked to hear that, the Necklace around his neck was given to him by Tsunade, it was a promise between the two that he'd become the Hokage in the future.
But to Dan, it was a keepsake he got from Tsunade that made him feel like he had her with him whenever he was away.
So, for her to ask for it, Dan's mind stopped working…
"If you want to go back to the battlefield then leave that necklace with me," Dan was brought back out of his mind when he heard her voice.
"Tsunade what happened?" Dan couldn't help but ask holding her shoulders, he was extremely worried by her sudden change.
"If you want to go to the battlefield, leave the necklace with me, that is the only thing I want," But Tsunade continued with her own mind, and it wasn't like she could tell Dan what had happened or was about to happen, she was sure he would do something dumb if her knew.
"I am not asking for much, am I?" Tsunade showed Dan a small smile making him too shocked to speak.
'She must have her reasons,' Dan thought as he silently took off the necklace and gave it to Tsunade, he wanted to talk more with her but now didn't seem the correct time.
"I'll be back soon," Dan smiled as he left the tent leaving Tsunade alone. She did not move an inch and was just standing in place as her grip tightened around the necklace.
'I'll carry that burden myself,' Tsunade looked at the necklace and the small device with a red button she took out of her tools pouch.
Adam on the other hand was just looking around Konoha disguised as a normal civilian. He left Tsunade to her devices so she could do all of the tests on Dan that she seemed necessary, he had done his job and now it was her point to make sure that he didn't cheat her.
'I also needed to deal with the guy who injured Dan, can't have him give out contradictory information that'll rise suspicion,' Adam was also dealing with a Shinobi from Amegakure who gave Dan that life-threatening injury which killed him in the end.
Well, it wasn't that he had to do it but if he was to follow the contract then he wouldn't even need to work on the memories of Dan and the two Shinobi who were present there.
But….
'Is it guilt? It must be,' Adam thought that it would be better to make sure that no problem pops up for Tsunade and Dan afterward because of what she had to do was worse enough for them.
'Why didn't I get another pardon?' Adam sighed heavily as he walked around Konoha almost in a daze, just like a few days ago when…
'The ramen shop hasn't opened yet,' Adam was searching for the famous Ramen shop of the Naruto verse, Ichiraku Ramen.
Well, he did find Teuchi but everyone's favorite Ramen guy was still training his skills so it would still be a while before he could get to taste it. Adam did eat other things along the way and…
'Dangos are so tasty,' Adam had eaten a hundred Dangos and he still wanted more, he really enjoyed it.
And while thinking like that it was soon night time.
So, Adam just did what any normal individual would do, sit on the roof and look at the moon. Though his reason for looking at the moon was different…
"It feels like someone is calling me over?" Adam muttered as he had this feeling for a while now, it has been seven days since he had been roaming around Konoha and the land of fire, and there hadn't been a day he hadn't heard that voice.
'Should I check it out?' Adam thought and just as he was about to go to the moon he got a message.
[Come and meet me.]
He heard the message in his head and knew who it came from.
"What happened to her all of a sudden?" Adam wondered as it was Tsunade who called him, he had given her a small device that he made for fun, if she wanted to communicate with him she just needed to press the button and speak, and the message will reach him instantly.
Adam did this to avoid being in Dan's vicinity since it could give Tsunade a feeling that he was controlling him through some remote techniques, which is why he had made it a case to be far away from the two.
Although the real reason was that he was kind of jealous of their whole lovey-dovey parade, well it exactly wasn't them being romantic but to Adam it seemed that way. We can't do anything about his jealous personality until he gets his own partner and rubs the fact into the faces of others himself.
Anyway, leaving that aside Adam went to Tsunade in one swift motion. He found her in the tent alone and her gaze landed on him as soon as he arrived.
"Where is he?" Adam asked and Tsunade raised an eyebrow as she didn't expect him to ask about Dan.
"Dan went back to the frontlines, said he couldn't stand back while others were fighting because he wants to be the Hokage," Tsunade answered, or more like she was venting, she wouldn't have answered Adam if he had asked any other question.
"Damn, I respect him quite a bit for that," Adam wasn't saying that just for the sake of it, he really admired Dan's guts to go back on the battlefield after he had just nearly lost his life, he was sure that Tsunade had tried to stop him, but the man was on a mission it seems.
But it wasn't like he hadn't been through that himself, if anything he had gone through much worse. Even then, what Adam actually respected about Dan was his ability to go for the battlefield when someone like Tsunade was stopping him.
'I could never, But I guess that is why he has her,' Adam shook his head in dismay as the respect for Dan increased in his heart, but he couldn't focus on it long because.
"And you are just about to have sex with the lover of the man you respect so much," Tsunade spoke with disdain dripping from every word of her as Adam could only clear his throat.
"Ahem* as I said, I can't do anything about that," Adam said as Tsunade scoffed but his next words did freeze her in place.
"But it isn't like you didn't have a choice, you made your choice to get my help knowing what it entailed, and I have worked more than promised to make sure that you two face no problems going forward, so it would better for the both of us that you stop playing the victim here," Tsunade looked at Adam only to see his flat face, he mostly didn't talk back to her when she lashed out at him in the previous days but it seemed that even he had his limits, or so he made it appear.
'That should draw the line properly,' Adam thought as he didn't mind if Tsunade cursed him but the way things were she might end up hating herself more because of her personality, so he tried to become the object of hate in this contract since that would be helpful for her.
And it wasn't that he was lying, Tsunade knew it full well what she was getting herself into and she knew that Adam had done more than necessary, so if anything she had no right to criticize him.
'But even then, I can't handle it,' Tsunade gritted her teeth just thinking of the price she had to pay.
"It seems like you aren't in a good mood, so I'll take my leave," Adam was about to leave but Tsunade spoke up again.
"No, I've called you here regarding the payment,"
