I was returning from a rather capricious storm, having lost the lives of half my men, returning from yet another Blackfyre defeat.
But one last heir was still alive, Ser Myles Toyne, on learning of the defeat of his king and commander, took the last heir with him, killed his mother, his guards placed by his father and left for Tyrosh. At least, that's what his letter said when I stopped off at Myr, knowing I'd be passing through to pick up supplies. Having heard that my attempt to retake the Stepstones had failed. Having killed the entire company of mercenaries I had employed. But arriving after a good week's rest, avoiding the Greyjoy ships, which had come to wipe out the last remnants of our troops. Giving the order to display the Blackfyre colors in full view of Tyrosh harbor, we were greeted by a row of a long army, and seeing their gold-colored armor and helmets, I recognized that my friend Myles was indeed here.
Passing in front of the long army of honor, I found at the back their commander Myles and the tyrant of Tyrosh, Prince Alequo Adarys, accompanied by his wife Serysha Adarys.
We climbed into his palace, where security was even stronger than when we had taken the city 2 years ago.
Passing through the immaculate rooms, we entered a chamber where maids and maesters were looking at the condition of what appeared to be a baby.
Myles took the child and, seeing his piercing violet eyes, I realized that I was looking at the last of the Blackfyre line.
I saw that my mission had served its purpose, and despite the death of many of my men, I presented the legendary sword of the royal line, the Blackfyre sword.
Alequo ordered all the guards and servants to leave, and Myles explained the plan to educate him in Tyrosh, while sending men from the westeros to educate him in the customs of his future kingdom. While Myles will get the company up and running again, now with a force of just 4,000 men.
For my part, I'll take care of protecting the little prince with the help of Alequo, who's looking for new allies fast, knowing that he was in an unstable position.
So, like the gang of nine, we formed an alliance of three for the time being.
I put my second-in-command Ser Landor Errol in charge of finding or kidnapping maesters capable of educating the little one, while I took charge of his guard, finding even with the promises, that Alequo's position was too precarious when I saw how his wife managed to do anything to him, like lowering his personal guard to supposedly show he wasn't afraid to his people.
