50% I’ve reincarnated as Zeus!?!?(rewriting) / Chapter 2: Speak your mind, Kid

Kapitel 2: Speak your mind, Kid

Once it was in my mouth, I instantly clamped down on it. My brows shot up in surprise as I wasn't able to pull away. Like some baby instinct forcing me to drink.

Liquid streamed down my throat as I braced myself.

It was sweet. Not awful and unpleasant. It was sweet. My worries slowly died down as I lay there, losing myself to the flavor and blurring out my surroundings.

My eyes grew heavy as I started to feel drowsy. The ground started to look very comfy as I laid my head on the floor, closing my eyes.

————————————————————————

I returned to consciousness, enjoying the pleasant feeling of sleeping. When suddenly my eyes snapped as I quickly sat up, remembering yesterday. I looked around seeing the ridged stone wall from the day before.

'It wasn't a dream...' I absently thought.

I sat there in thought about my new conditions. I was Zeus, a god. But not just any god, the king of gods. The concept alone was great, but what concerns me are the dangers ahead. The most prominent is my father, Kronos.

The bastard will probably want to eat me if I were to meet him now. No. He would definitely want to eat me. If I want to continue my life of being Zeus then I'll have to deal with him, and I don't think he would be keen on settling it over a game of catch.

Thankfully, that layout of his defeat has been foretold. With the help of my sibling, the Elder Cyclops, and various allies, we were able to defeat him and the Titans. The only problem is Greek mythology.

I don't know if this is Homer's or Hesiod's literature. Heck, it doesn't even need to be a Greek mythology Bible as I could be in Percy Jackson or God of War.

And there is no way I could certainly confirm it. I don't want to follow a path blindly. I would feel much more comfortable with knowing for certain what I need to do.

So before I confront my father, I will be gaining knowledge to help me defeat him.

There were still some other problems however this will do for now.

I look around the room, seeing no one is here. I questioned why when I felt something.

I felt... hyper. Like I want to do some extreme cardio. My body urges me to push my muscle and to do something. And following it, I lean forward before picking myself up from the floor. And for the first time in this life, I stood.

I felt more energized and significantly stronger than yesterday. I look at my hands wondering what was happening.

Was it because of my godly body? In the myths, it commented how gods were about to grow to the size of an adult in days. So did my body become more powerful due to aging?

I don't know.

I snap back out of my thoughts, observing the room. It was mostly empty, with only altars of fire as lighting and a couple of blankets that I was laying on.

Alone in the room, I look at the hallway. The hallway my mother previously took before leaving me with the nymph. I started walking down the hall before suddenly breaking into a sprint, provoked by the energy.

A smile formed on my face as a breeze flew past my face as I ran. I got closer and closer turning a corner when suddenly I was met with a plate full of rocks and dirt.

...

I lay there in confusion as my face stung in pain. I pick myself back up, noticing I was out of breath. Leaning on the wall to rest, I thought about what happened.

It seemed I fell from exhaustion. Thankfully, no one was here as it would be embarrassing for a sky god to be "winded".

I wonder why I was exhausted when I felt so full of energy earlier. 'I guess I wasn't that strong yet.' I thought.

After all, I am still in a body of a child. Maybe I need to grow some more.

I was about dust off my knees when I got a glimpse of light. Looking up I could see the exit of the cave. And like a moth, I walked towards it, curiosity unbearable.

As I walk closer, a familiar banging could be heard. Exiting the cave, I shielded my eyes as the sun engulf my vision.

Opening my eyes, I was greeted with a breathtaking view. Beneath me was a view full of untamed land, filled with greenery and lush. An outlook of the glimmering sea in the background added an aura to the island view. It was nice.

Suddenly, weight was applied to my shoulder, causing me to jump a little.

"LORD ZEUS!" A loud voice to my side shouted. After recovering from my loss of hearing I look over to see one of the Kourete brothers.

His face was one of shock as he examined me all around. His face was the shade of a dark tan and had a messy beard, an identical trait shared with the brothers.

I snapped out of my observance of the Kourete as he started to intensely stare at me. "LORD ZEUS?!"

Realizing that he was wanting an answer, I hesitantly opened my mouth. "Uh yeah?" I asked nervously.

"GOODNESS!" The man said as he suddenly pick me up. I felt my back being crushed as he pulls me into a hug, the world blurring as we spin away.

"YOU'VE GROWN!" Wait why is he acting like some aunt that I haven't seen in a few years? You literally saw me yesterday!

"BROTHER LET HIM GO! HE NEEDS FOOD!" another loud voice rang in my ears, revealing its other siblings.

"YES! YES! HE NEEDS FOOD!" He agreed violently nodding his head up and down. "WE MUST FIND LADY NEDA!"

He then raised me above his head. I wondered what he was doing as he walked backward. Suddenly we jolted forward and my eyes opened in fright as the brother jumps off the mountain.

"AHHH!" I couldn't help but cry at the sudden action. He didn't give me a break as he just bounced down the mountain. The ride was bumpy and extremely uncomfortable as he held me sideways from my arms and legs.

However, one of the brothers came racing down, pointing at me in distress. He came steeply and stopped, readjusting my position to being able to sit on his neck.

"SORRY LORD ZEUS!" He yelled as he walked down the path. He didn't seem like he was going to continue to run. I stayed silent as we went on a peaceful walk. Reason being one because I was hesitant and two, I don't know what to say.

We didn't say or do much after that. His brothers came by scolding him while I tiredly rested myself on his head. All the excitement got me drained. I used this moment to take a breather before more action goes down. Exactly I think it's starting again right now.

I open my eyes, looking down seeing three beautiful ladies and a goat carrying baskets uphill. In the lead, I can see the nymph from yesterday.

"LADY NEDA! WE HAVE BROUGHT YOU ZEUS!"

The nymph looks in shock before quickly placing down her basket. She ran over and the Kourete nabbed me from his neck handing me to her.

She snatches me from him before intensely examing every speck of my body. "Oh, my goodness. Why did you bring him out?" Neda asked.

"ZEUS CAME TO US!" The brothers explained.

"How can a baby come to you?!" She questioned the brothers.

"HE WALKS!"

She looks at them in doubt and turns back to the other nymphs. She gestures to the Kouretes to help with the baskets before retrieving Amaltheia and leaving them behind.

After leaving the group behind she spoke. "I don't believe this is a good idea." She hushfully whispers. "The Kouretes are just to stop his cries, I'm not sure that they are suitable handmaids. Honestly, I'm not sure of anything."

I don't think I was supposed to hear this.

"I mean if Kronos catch us... The whole island will..." I felt her body shiver as her sentence trailed off. She sighs and silence ensues.

I stared at her. I could talk however I wasn't talking. I've kept hesitating. 'Is that want a king would do?' I thought. I was frustrated with my inability to talk and I was missing opportunities for knowledge.

I need this. This information is literally life or death. So stop being a little prick and talk!

I gritted my teeth before forcefully releasing it, opening my mouth.

"Hello."

Let's see what happens.
