Kapitel 17: Terminus Base.

As I flew into Antarctica, the sight that greeted me once I was there is that of a busy construction operation.

drones all over the place in two different locations. Two bases are being built, one to house the Kryptonian ships and infrastructure and will be my personal base, where I will house my secret-secret projects.

And the other is "Terminus," which will be the base operation of Emberfall, which once the ribbon is cut will be changed into something else, but there is still time to work out a new name.

The mining drones had already made significant progress as I descended on the White Mountains, having completed the cavity that will house our future base of operations weeks earlier and a lot of construction was done. All that remained were a few crucial finishing touches.

Two weeks ago, it was a barebone, laser-excavated cave.

But now, it took the shape of something else.

After it was excavated, the first step was to lay a strong foundation.

The mining drones have been diligently carrying out their tasks, tirelessly collecting material and taking it back to the newly constructed huge molecular assembly machines, and Ordis has been doing flawless work when it comes to industrial-scale work. ' AIs are overpowered'.

after All the waste material from the excavation was fed to the molecular assembly machines and turned into a lot of precious resources.

Exotic alloys were made into modular plates, beams, and parts of all desired shapes and sizes, but I made sure I used Eartly elements for most construction; they were refined and melded into their absolute maximum potential.

I made sure all my designs are modular for easy expansion, which also makes the operations foolproof. As they say, "The best part is no part, and the best process is no process." Complexity only serves Murphy's law; more things can go wrong.

As time goes on, every Titantum beam, steel plate, and exotic fortification is put into place, and massive amounts of concrete are poured into huge foundations and made into intricate details and extrusions where the next pieces of the puzzle will fit in.

The base has grown in both size and complexity. With each level, the proportions seem to increase, reflecting the grand vision I've had in mind from the beginning.

The base now boasts an impressive 60 levels, each designed to serve a specific purpose. The lower levels will house the power generators, life support systems in case of trouble, and storage facilities, while the upper levels are reserved for living quarters, laboratories, and command centers.

The layout is carefully planned, with corridors connecting different sections.

The carefully crafted steel and titanium plates and beams provide the base's inner walls with a sturdy foundation and support. They offer stability and structural integrity, ensuring that the base can resist any potential threats as well as the harsh polar weather. Additional layers of materials that provide insulation and protection against extreme temperatures are added to the walls themselves to strengthen them.

But as soon as the inner foundational structure started to take shape, I started working on the base's electrical and power systems.

The "science" we are planning to conduct within these walls demands a robust and adaptable power infrastructure. Not only must it be capable of handling our current needs, but it must also be prepared to embrace future exotic power sources that we will deploy.

I've first determined how much power is needed for each base level. I've looked everywhere to determine the precise requirements of our scientific endeavors, from power-hungry laboratories to cutting-edge computational systems. The electrical system will be constructed using these calculations as a base.

In designing the system, I've embraced a modular approach. Each level has its own power distribution center and arc reactors, allowing for localized power generation, control, and monitoring. This ensures that in the event of a power surge or malfunction, the impact remains contained, preventing disruptions to the entire base.

And there are six huge arc reactors that are housed in the lower levels that can generate enough energy to power a state back in the U.S., tuned to their utmost efficient potential, and put all the redundancies and fail-safes in place to prevent any shutdown or meltdown of the reactors. The power system is the heart of the base, and you will never want your base to have a cardiac arrest.

This ensures a continuous and reliable power supply, regardless of external conditions.

I've left ample room for the integration of future exotic power sources. and I am sure the energy needs will just grow as our operations expand.

To maximize efficiency, I will incorporate advanced power management algorithms and smart grids when I design and integrate a computational system in the base that Ordis will interface with at all times and is built to his specifications.

These systems will constantly monitor energy consumption and dynamically allocate power to different areas of the base based on demand.

I made sure to include some very ultra-durable holding cells for any unsavory characters we might need to keep under lock and key. Gotta be prepared for all eventualities, you know?

after that, I put the computer system which spans a level with all of its infrastructure from its own energy generation to the cooling system, and this ain't your run-of-the-mill levels. Each one is a powerhouse in itself, capable of housing numerous large-scale production facilities.

the whole base has the capacity to accommodate a whopping 10,000 people. Here, we're referring to a tiny settlement concealed deep within the mountain. We've maximized every square inch of this place, making the most of every nook and cranny.

Sure, we might not require the entire base during the first stage of our operation. Our main action will take place on the higher levels. But hey, I guess it's always preferable to feel spacious than confined?

8 weeks had zipped by since my meeting with Tony, and the base looked spick and span and ready for action.

Every little bit of detail was taken care of.

After that was finished, I made Ordis conceal everything in the "Fortress of Solitude," as it was dubbed. the second base mountain has huge hangers that house all the Kryptonian ships, Essambly machines, and drones, and it was very concealed from everyone and far away from "Terminus".

Now I am in the command chamber back on the ship, tracking a certain person so I can help her, and in turn, she will help me out.

"Ordis, any progress on zeroing in on Oksana? She can't be that good, can she?" I asked in frustration, but I was unable to triangulate her location.

"Boss, based on the available information, the subject's most recent sighting occurred in Japan. However, it is worth noting that several weeks prior, she was spotted in Morocco once again. The bulk of the sightings originates from Morocco, suggesting that it serves as her primary operating location. "But there are other widows that she seems to make contact with, and they are much easier to locate. Oksana seems very effective at slipping out of our fingers to my liking," Ordis explained to me as I massaged my forehead.

"Furthermore, she seems to operate with an organization that, from the data I gathered which is not much, addresses themselves as the "Illuminati," but I was unable to find any trace of data about this group or how they communicate with Oksana. They also seem to have quite the resources to operate this covertly without emissions," he added, which made a lot of lightbulbs light up in my head.

"the "Illuminati," hmmm?" I know this is not the Illuminati that tinfoil-hats geek about; I know this world version of the Illuminati is much more interesting, but I need to look into it more to see if there is anything interesting to it.

"What about the Red Room Academy? Are you sure that's the location of its mobile aerial platform?" I asked just to make sure; it's not like I doubt the skill of Ordis.

"Affirmative, boss. I have successfully infiltrated their system and obtained complete access to their operational data; this is needed for the rescue and assimilation process," he chirped as he showed me all the data that he got his hands on.

and as I was flipping through all the data, he gave me the good news.

I was starving for some real action—someone who wouldn't crumble like a cookie at my touch. It's long overdue; I faced a challenge worth my time.

"Boss, I've got a hot update! Mr. Green is making moves. It's time for you to suit up for Operation Blue!" Ordis urgently informed me, injecting some much-needed urgency into the situation.

"Yes!" I exclaimed joyfully, leaping out of my seat. "Finally, some real action! It's about time to give the world a thousand reasons to soil their pants!"
