"What's going on mato" said Richard or his new name name Dasan "chief we are surrounded by animals we have never seen before" said mato in a hurried tone infact mato isn't even a Comanche name it's a Sioux name meaning bear this wasn't rare as you will typically take the children of a tribe you attacked and integrate them with yours but mato is a different case he was found by the tribe as it was moving all he knew was his name with Dasans knowledge he knew Sioux lived next to the Great Lakes making mato very far away from home Dasan quickly got up from his sleeping quarters as he put on his war bonnet and took his spear and bow as he made his way out his tipi followed by mato coming out his tipi Dasan looked around to see smaller tipis around with red skinned and tanned men outside holding bows and spears guarding around the tipis with a vigilant look he could see woman in the tipis and children with dogs at the side of the men growling as Dasan made it to the outer ring of tipis where he can finally see the situation outside the camp he saw 500 horses grazing all around the camp but what really startled him was the size of these horses the average seems to be 75 inches tall the entire herd of these behemoths all had different colors ranging from jet black to Snow White they had gigantic and curly manes and long curly hair on they're ankles almost covering they're hoofs Dasan knew about the shire horse the biggest horse in his last world but it was definitely smaller than this estimating by they're seize they should be over 2300 pounds on average they might be even more because they were so muscular they're entire neck almost looks like a tree trunk from the base
The hunters of the tribe saw they're chief come but they didn't make any noise they don't know what these gigantic creatures would do if they made noises although Dasan looked to be young compared to everyone he was 19 but his war bonnet can't fool anyone since he first went on a hunt he earned his feathers so everyone respected him Dasan just looked around for a few seconds then sighed as he thought of the how cruel the Comanche would become in the future he knows it's due to a mixture of having no central leadership that prompted to most of the cruel acts, torture and rape he was yet again determined to form a central leadership for the Comanche ofcourse fights with Mexican bandits and soldiers can't be ruled out but the level of cruelty the Comanche showed trumpet all of them we are talking about killing every male and baby, scalping live people, gang rape of every woman found and torture of them they would burn theyre captives alive and many more horrendous torture methods (this is not a kiss ass novel where I only talk about the good, that is what did happen in our world but it won't happen again due to richards intervention) Dasan was determined to change all native Indian fates but he did not want his people to be demonized by theyre actions after all the Comanche was a group of people who were brave and born warriors that fought for honor but he didn't view torture of defenseless people and senseless killing and rape as honorable
Looking around the hunters circled around the tipis to protect they're families and home he couldn't help but notice how tall they were well plain Indians were always tall but the Comanche were the shortest but in this world they were an average of 5'11 and some were even taller he himself being 6'0 with light brown skin he was muscular with brown eyes seeing the increased nervousness he knew that one of them wouldn't resist and fire and arrow eventually so he quickly called everyone including the woman and children to the front of his tipi although they were hesitant at first but seeing that the gigantic creatures were still minding their business they went aswell out of respect to the chief soon everyone was standing in front of his tipi which surprised him because the size of his tribe is insane in this time period there were atleast 300 people from young to old that was crazy as in pre Columbus America it was estimated that only 7-10 million natives 300 people in a tribe was insane in this time period he knew in this time of 1444 the Comanche were still in the north plains and have yet to migrated to the south plains, "I have spoken to the creator spirit and have been shown visions" as Dasan spoke those words the crowd instantly became quite after all The Comanche believed in a creator spirit and its counterpart, an evil spirit, and accepted the Sun, the Earth, and the Moon as deities they are very spiritual "chief could you describe the visions and what the creator spirit told you" said a fairly old man Dasan immediately recognized him as the medicine man Dasan lightly touched the old man's hand as a sign of greeting as he respectfully said "the great creator spirit gave us this gigantic creature we now see outside our camp the creatures we could use to ride and hunt bison and travel long distances the creator spirit said I was to be the chosen one and showed me visions of all tribe people suffering and dying he told me to save them all I will show I am the chosen one by taming the beasts the creator spirit called horses ofcourse any hunter can try to tame them after me" as the words finished the crowed instantly got noises as they started talking amongst each other about the creator spirits words and visions
Ceremony and rituals have long played a vital and essential role in Native American culture. Spirituality is an integral part of their very being.
Often referred to as "religion," most Native Americans did not consider their spirituality, ceremonies, and rituals as "religion" like Christians do. Rather, their beliefs and practices form an integral and seamless part of their very being. Like other aboriginal peoples around the world, their beliefs were heavily influenced by their methods of acquiring food – from hunting to agriculture. They also embraced ceremonies and rituals that provided power to conquer life's difficulties, as well as events and milestones such as puberty, marriage, and death. Over the years, practices and ceremonies changed with tribes' needs Dasan knew his tribe's practices and ceremonies will change in favor of war as they will follow him to death as he is the chosen this is a heavy weight on his shoulder as Dasan who was now being referred to as wild horse was in a dilemma as he didn't want his people turning cruel like the Comanche in the future the ceremonies and dances continued around the camp fire
As Dasan was deep in thought on the future blood shed the medicine men saw him in thought while everyone was dancing and singing so he came up and said "Dasan you seem to having trouble do you mind talking with this old men" said the old man as Dasan just nodded there wasn't need for respect in a private conversation the medicine men has almost as much prestige in the tribe as him "elder as the chosen you must know the heavy responsibility weighing on my spirit" said Dasan with a light sigh as the medicine man said "everything on the earth has a purpose, every disease an herb to cure it, and every person a mission you have gotten a mission from the creator spirit he even gave you gifts it is our mission to help you complete yours" said the medicine men not bothering to hide his respect then the medicine men started to sign softly to dasan afterall Traditional healers worked to make the individual "whole," believing that most illnesses stem from spiritual problems as the medicine men signs softly to Dasan he closes his eyes to take it in unbeknownst to Dasan his tribe people also joined the signing and danced for him as everyone kept signing Dasan joined in aswell with his eyes still closed making this a giant healing ceremony, Symbolic healing rituals and ceremonies were often held to bring participants into harmony with themselves, their tribe, and their environment. Ceremonies were used to help groups of people return to harmony, but large ceremonies were generally not used for individual healing as songs were sang and Dances were danced throughout the night Dasan who was now feeling much different was sitting beside the medicine men with a satisfied smile in his last life he didn't believe in the spiritual but after meeting that voice and what happened today he was firm believer the way the songs made his weights disappeared and he felt relieved and firm in his goal he secretly vowed to make his goal happen at any cost then it was like his spirit became whole
As Dasan now gave a face of determination and not of confusion the medicine men said "I'm glad your spirit is while again Dasan" Dasan nodded and said "thank you for your guidance elder" As he saw the medicine men go around the campfire telling stories of wisdom to the kids and tribes people as the tribe kept dancing and singing it was getting late and you could hear horse neighs through out the whole tribe this did not deter the mood but brighten it up as the tribe people thought the horses were singing with them they even imitated neighs as the night grew old the singing and dancing eventually died down as everyone went to sleep Dasan Dreamed of riding the big black horse into battle all across North America he dreamed of expelling the Europeans, Dasan opened his eyes to see it was already the afternoon it seems they stayed up for a long time last night leaving his headdress inside his tipi as it's something worn for special occasions not something he can wear all day he went out of his tipi with only his breechcloth and shirtless this infact was how all of them dressed when it was summer the woman usually wear a full dress of animal hide when it gets to winter they do have animal his dresses aswell
As Dasan made his way through out the camp and tipis he greeted all his fellow tribesmen along the way he also met mato one of the few who successfully mounted a horse "chief have you slept well" "I've slept well mato would you please call all the hunters I will teach how to ride the horse then we will go on a hunt" said Dasan as mato was excited hearing about going on a hunt while riding a horse so he quickly went to different tipis to find hunters as mato was finding the hunters Dasan was already in the field in front of the camp where the huge horse herd were still grazing while thinking of the reaction of herd to himself yesterday Dasan couldn't help think that the herd considers him as the alpha afterall the voice did say they will forever be loyal putting this matter at the back of his head he went into the herd patting all the horses he came across as they licked him back as he finally made his way to who he named wild the big black horse wild who saw Dasan came up to him as he rubbed his head on his face and kicked him so did his 3 mares making his hand like a claw shape Dasan carefully untangled they're manes and scratched they're bodies
