Kapitel 20: Andals Invasion

A race of men from Essos, the Andals, crossed the Narrow Sea in numerous ships and made landfall in the Vale of Arryn. Under the banner of the Faith of the Seven.

Andals first landed in the Fingers and attacked the First Men living in the Vale. They burnt out the weirwood groves, hacked down the faces that they came across. Everywhere they proclaimed the triumph of the Seven over the old gods. A hill, now known to the Westerosi as High Heart, was sacred to the children of the forest. There, the Andal king Erreg the Kinslayer cut down the children's grove of thirty-one weirwoods.

After several hundred years of war, the Andals conquered or married into the southern kingdoms of the First Men and created their own.

Maldon IV Durrandon was a Storm King of House Durrandon. During the Andal invasion of the stormlands, as neither side defeated the other, Maldon took an Andal maiden as his wife. Durran XXIV was born of this union.

In WesterLands They initially resisted the coming of the Andals, but later as the Andals began moving into the westerlands in larger numbers than in the time of Tybolt the Thunderbolt, Tyrion decided to arrange marriages for the more powerful Andal warchiefs with the daughters of the great local Houses. Aware of Andal betrayals in the Vale, he also took the sons and daughters of the new Andal lords as wards and fosterlings to serve as pages and cupbearers, as well as hostages, at Casterly Rock. He was succeeded by his son, Gerold III Lannister, who continued Tyrion's policies.New houses formed by the intermarriages included

Gerold died without male issues, thus a council cronwed his only daughter's husband, Ser Joffrey Lydden, who took the Lannister name and became the first Andal to rule Casterly Rock.

Houses Brax, Drox, Jast, Kyndall, Lefford, Marbrand, Parren, Sarsfield, and Serrett. In contrast to most kings of First Men origin, the support of the Andals allowed the Kings of the Rock to expand their power.

The Gardeners initially fortified their kingdom during the coming of the Andals to Westeros, but they eventually let loose Ladon on them, which resulted in crushing defeat from the Andals group.

Only then the smart ones in the group realised to the whole thing is not going the way there gods proclaimed. They found out the old gods were much more powerful and nothing like Faith of Seven told them too be.So these groups joined the Reach peacefully, since they wanted to learn more about these powerful old gods and when they did most of them renounced Faith of seven.

While Dorne was let's just say more passionate about there faith towards Old Gods, also because the blessing of Eru Dorne had acquired a striking physical feature - reddish-orange skin that glowed like embers in the sunlight. It was as if the gods had painted their very essence onto their flesh, marking them as chosen ones. To honor this sacred gift, the Dorne began to adorn themselves with intricate tattoos, inked in dark red, that told the stories of their social standing and important life experiences.

Each tattoo held a special meaning, a testament to the trials and triumphs they had faced. The designs were carefully chosen, reflecting the wearer's achievements, lineage, and personal growth. From birth to death, these tattoos evolved, telling a captivating tale of their lives, etched upon their vibrant skin.

The reddish-orange hue of their skin became a symbol of pride and unity among the people of Dorne. It represented their unwavering faith, their connection to the divine, and their bond with each other. It was a mark of distinction that set them apart from the rest of the world, a testament to their deep-rooted spirituality and the harmonious relationship they shared with the Old Gods.

This strong belief caused them fight the Andals for tooth and nail. They won there battle, but news spread about two giant snakes attacking the Andals.(This will be revealed 2 chapters later, it will more clear and described battle.)

In the Winter Council chambers, all the Northern Lords had convened to discuss the impending Andal invasion. Theon Stark, now older with a distinguished beard, had matured and become wiser over the years, thanks in large part to his trusted friend and advisor, Vlad Tepes. Together, they formed a formidable team, guiding the kingdom through challenging times.

As Theon studied the map depicting the Andal army's advance towards the North, he voiced his concerns to the gathered lords, "So they are coming for us now?"

Lord Thark Glover responded, "Yes, word has it that they are amassing their forces and marching north."

Murmurs filled the chamber as Lord Umber interjected, "Did the southern Lords truly allow these people to join their ranks?"

Some grumbled in agreement as Theon let out a sigh and replied, "Indeed, many of them have fully integrated, even in regions like the Westerlands and Stormlands, adopting the Faith of the Seven."

This news greatly perturbed most of the Lords, who regarded the Andals as cowards, disrespecting their ancestors and the ancient gods.

Lord Bolton spoke up, sharing a surprising revelation, "I've heard that King Grom of the Reach has permitted these Andals to reside within his lands."

This announcement sparked astonishment among the attendees, as the Reach was known as one of the strongest kingdoms with a deep-rooted belief in the ancient gods.

To clear the air and dispel any misunderstandings, Vlad decided to address the council, "I received a message from King Grom himself. It appears that he welcomed the peaceful Andals who sought to renounce the Faith of the Seven and distance themselves from this war."

Vlad went on to explain that during their encounters, a group of Andals was visited by the incarnations of the Seven, who crowned their first king, Hugor of the Hill. While some Andals were initially reluctant, they succumbed to the pressure exerted by the majority. The so-called Faith of the Seven had promised them dominion over all of Westeros and an easy victory. However, upon arrival, they realized that the conquest was far from easy, losing thousands upon thousands of men in futile attempts to subjugate the Reach. This, combined with their discovery of the blessed kingdoms and people devoted to the ancient gods, led them to feel betrayed by the Faith of the Seven.

Vlad concluded, "It seems that the wiser and more peace-seeking Andals have renounced the Faith of the Seven and aligned themselves with Dorne or the Reach. Those who are now heading our way are the more fanatical ones, seeking to conquer everything in the name of the Seven."

While most of the Northern Lords felt that was okay, but some like Bolton felt the Reach shouldn't have taken them in.But Eru or Vlad knew these Andal's won't cause any issue, everyone of them will fully renounce the Seven in the future.

So he didn't find any issue with the whole thing, while Theon broke his thought"We should ready for the coming battle, we will never allow them to destroy our faith and beliefs."

All the Lords shouted in agreement, while Vlad looked at Theon in sadness knowing his descendant would marry a Tully, who will not only try to build a sept in the heart of Winterfell. But also try to convert many into Faith of Seven fol lowers. He sighed and thought"I never liked Catelyn, maybe I can change this whole thing."

In a cruel twist of fate, the House of Lannister and the House of Durradon discovered that their once fertile lands had become barren, leaving them in dire straits during the harsh winter years.

The shocking revelation came to light during the solemn oath ceremony, when ethereal apparitions of their ancestors, such as Duradon Godsgrief and Lan the clever, materialized to curse them for the destruction they had wrought upon their ancestral lands.

Initially, both the House of Lannister and the House of Durradon were bewildered by this turn of events. However, their ancestors soon elucidated that their misfortune was a consequence of their decision to abandon the Old Gods and embrace the Faith of the Seven.

By forsaking the ancient deities, they unknowingly forfeited the blessings bestowed upon their lands, thus inviting the wrath of the divine powers that had once nurtured their domain.
