Kapitel 152: All webbed up (2)

The arachnid's predatory gaze followed Xander's every movement as he prepared to fend himself against the illusion. Without his direwolf, he was just as vulnerable as an insect caught in the spider's web.

Xander raised his scythe to intimidate the oversized spider, but it showed no signs of fear. Instead, it raised its front legs to put on a threatening display of aggression just like an adult tarantula. The bristles on its body stood up as it hissed, exposing its venomous fangs.

With blood still dripping from the gash on its head, the spider charged at Xander, skittering along the floor at full speed. Before Xander could anticipate its next move, the spider jumped on him.

Rolling to his left, Xander somehow managed to get out of the way as the spider sprayed the ground with venom. The bubbling green liquid blackened the ground, filling the room with a putrid smell.
