Kapitel 123: The High Priestess

Kayla waited patiently with her child pressed to her bosom. Having lost her husband in the Cacodemon attack, she had no one else to call her own except the little boy she had adopted only a day before.

The two priestesses did not keep them waiting for long. They soon returned bearing good news, revealing that the High Priestess had agreed to grace them with her time.

"Please follow us inside the temple. And bear in mind that no man is allowed to speak to her. If you offend her in any way or disrespect our patron deity by your words or actions, you will be barred from entering the shrine again."

With that, the pair led Xander and his companions to the shrine's inner sanctum, where most of the daily rituals were performed by the chosen few.

They passed through a narrow rectangular doorway on the other side of the room and entered a wide-open hall lined with magnificent white marble pillars decked with fully bloomed white roses and fresh lilies.
