"...Or should I say, young lady," the voice continued.
Lola strained her eyes in the dimly lit room, where the only source of light came from two candles perched atop the bedside tables on either side of the bed. The limited light cast shadows and concealed much of the room, preventing her from seeing beyond the silhouette of a man standing on the other side. At least she could discern his presence.
As Lola tried to piece together what had led her to this distressing situation, she recalled waking up after crying herself to sleep. Feeling overwhelmed, she had decided to go to the bathroom. However, before she knew it, she had suddenly felt dizzy... and the next thing she knew, she was here.
"I apologize for resorting to this, young lady. It seems I have no other way to communicate with you except through this... rather forceful method," the voice explained. Gradually, the man emerged from the darkness, revealing himself.
