"And for some reason, you didn't think this information would be important for us?!" Sebastian's voice was cold, and Lucas and Ambrose stood in the corner as they didn't want to invite death by interrupting the angry devil.
"I am sorry, sir. I didn't know he was hiding such major information. When I caught him sneaking into the kingdom, I only thought he was just running away from the royal Kingdom," the spy bowed down, almost kneeling in front of Sebastian.
"I know I am in the wrong, sir, but believe me, I had no idea. You said you wanted the photo of the recently captured vampire, and I thought he would be the best leverage for the purpose," The spy thinned his lips as he almost placed his head on the ground.
Sebastian looked at the man with a mere curious gaze and sighed.
"So, shall we start our interrogation?" Sebastian looked at the guards, who immediately understood what he wanted and pulled the intruder closer to the prince.
The intruder looked into the eyes of the infamous dark prince and gulped before looking away. His form was trembling at the mere thought of what was going to happen to him.
His hands and legs were bound to the chair earlier, but they have freed him now. It was probably because they knew now that the vampire prince was here, he wouldn't try to run away.
"Sample question, what is your name?" Sebastian asked, and without giving him any time to respond, the prince lifted the wooden-pointed stick and stabbed his hand on the table
"Aaaaaa! Aaa! Aaa!" The man screamed in pain and agony, trying his best to pull away his hand from the prince's grip as his entire body reverberated with pain and helplessness.
The prince looked at Harold, and the latter nodded before bringing the first aid box. Sebastian lazily pulled out the bandage and wrapped the intruder's hand messily to stop the bleeding so he could torture his captive for a longer time.
"I think you are ready to answer things now, yes?" Sebastian asked, and the intruder looked at the dark prince before nodding shakily.
"Let's begin again. What is your name?" Sebastian wiped his bloody hands with the tissues.
"Blake," The intruder said at once, and Sebastian nodded.
"It wasn't that hard now, was it? What were you doing trying to intrude in the kingdom?" Sebastian asked, and the man paused, making Sebastian sigh loudly.
"I already gave you a demo of what I will do if you don't answer me clearly, didn't I? Are you trying to look for some kind of excuse? Why did you think it was okay to waste my time?" Sebastian asked before he took the stick again, making the intruder's eyes tremble slightly.
"I... I was -" The intruder started, but Sebastian shook his head.
"Times up. It's time for the demo again," Sebastian smiled cunningly from under his mask before he pulled the man with a jerk and stabbed the stick straight below his right shoulder, making the man growl in pain.
"Aaaaa! Please stop it! Aaaaaa!" The man shrieked, his hot tears spilling on the table, mixing with his blood, and Sebastian sighed before showing his hands again.
"Harold? Do I need to instruct you every time?" Sebastian asked, and Harold immediately apologized before running to the captive and wrapping his shoulder with the bandage to stop the bleeding.
"I really hate it when people don't understand things at once. You are making me repeat things uselessly. Let's start again. What is your name?"
"Blake,"
"Why were you here, Blake? You surely don't belong to the kingdoms and are one of the people who have chosen to stay neutral in the outside world. So what was so important that you didn't even wait for the legal procedures and decided it was better to infiltrate the kingdom?" Sebastian deliberately expanded to get his question straight.
The intruder gasped in pain before lifting his trembling form with great difficulty. He looked at the prince in fear and pain before gulping.
"I wanted to spy on the kingdom. I... I don't have a stable job, so I tend to my daily needs by taking small gigs from others. It was one of the gigs that was mysteriously offered to me. The amount for the information was $20,000. It was a lot of money for someone like me," Blake gasped before coughing blood, and Sebastian quirked his brows.
He had just stabbed the person twice and not even in the viral points. Why was this man in front of him coughing blood? It doesn't make any sense.
"What kind of information were you asked to send?" Sebastian asked, and Blake took a shaky breath, rubbing his throat up and down with his fingers as if trying to ease some kind of pain.
"Bring a glass of water for him," Sebastian looked at the guy, who was looking quite uncomfortable.
Now it might be because he was stabbed by a wooden stick twice and lost some blood, but his expression was speaking something else.
"Here, drink some water before answering. Look, I have no reason to kill you. If you answer me directly without wasting my time, I will let you go sooner. So the quicker you tell me everything I want to know, the earlier you will leave," Sebastian looked at the Intruder with a serious expression, and the latter nodded.
"I was asked to send information regarding the security in the kingdom. The main checkposts of the security guards and study the pattern of their security change and stuff like that.
It mostly encircled around the security types and schedules of royals if I could observe them. They were to pay me extra if I brought security information of royal personnel," Blake said, and Lucas looked at the prince with wide eyes.
It was almost the same as the prince had guessed when he was coming here. He had said something along the same lines.
If the intruder wasn't a deliberate planting from the royals themselves to distract him, there is only one reason why someone would risk their life just like that, for information. Information about things that are worthy to die for, or there is no way a mediocre-level vampire would dare challenge the scrutiny and security of the vampire kingdom just like that.
Blake coughed more blood, and Sebastian felt that something was definitely wrong with him. Under no circumstances until the vampire is terribly sick or under the influence of a witch is he supposed to cough this amount of blood.
"Who were the people to whom you were supposed to send the information?" Sebastian came to the main point, feeling like he didn't really have much time left.
It would be better if he reached these people.
This was a great piece of information and can be used to discuss with the Dukes and other important people in the masquerade ball that is coming soon. Their positive judgment of him will ensure his winning of the throne even more.
"I am asking you a question! Don't test my patience!" Sebastian looked at the intruder, who was staring back at him with wide eyes.
The intruder pointed to his throat and shook his head. It was as if he was trying to tell them he couldn't speak anymore, and Sebastian glared at him.
What the hell is wrong with him? He was all okay just a few minutes ago, and now he can't speak. What kind of bullshit is this? Sebastian stood from his place in anger and circled the table to look at the man.
"Look, I have played enough. I am not this patient. If you don't answer me who asked you to send this information, I will put this stick straight through your heart, and you can kiss your family goodbye," Sebastian looked straight into the eyes of the man, and he gulped.
He looked at the prince in pure fear before moving his hands in a signal. He wanted something to write in, and Sebastian pinched the bridge of his nose before nodding at Lucas.
Lucas immediately took out his notebook and handed the pen to the intruder, who lifted the pen with great difficulty because of his wounds.
As soon as he wrote the first alphabet, his coughing fit started again, and he coughed more blood on the notebook, making Lucas look at him warily.
This was his personal notebook that he used to jot down things when Sebastian gave pointers and work to do out of nowhere.
Seeing the man coughing more and more blood, Sebastian observed the man before widening his eyes when he realized what was happening.
"Guys! Quickly rush out!" Sebastian shouted, and everyone followed his instructions without questioning his words twice.
Boom!
As soon as they crossed half of the corridor, a blast resounded in the area, and Sebastian looked behind at the room they were interrogating that man, which was burning with large flames now.
The sound of the blast shocked everyone in the nearby area, and panicked screams and cries of people started echoing in the environment. Sebastian looked at his failed task and gritted his teeth.
Who has this much animosity towards the vampire kingdom that he used this kind of human bomb? If this person had been caught by the royal guards or blasted in the middle of the market, how many casualties would have occurred?
Sebastian sighed before evening his clothes and walked out of the building with a dangerous look. Nobody dared to say anything and followed the prince silently, afraid any sound from them would make him lose his temper.
Your gift is the motivation for my creation. Give me more motivation!
As Lucas and everyone sat in a random cafe with the prince, waiting for the prince to say something, Lucas felt a phone vibrate in his pocket and noticed it was the prince's phone.
"Sir, -" Lucas gulped when he saw Sebastian glare at him.
"It's your phone. It's a message from Blue," Lucas said, and Sebastian took the phone before opening the message.
It looked like she had sent some kind of photos. What was this spy doing sending him photos like this? Has she lost it?
Wait. Does it concern the princess? Sebastian downloaded the photos, and to say his demeanor took a 180° turn would be an understatement.
Lucas watched his eyes from turning extremely cold and detached to neutral to soft in a mere few seconds, and it was so quick that it almost looked unbelievable.
Sebastian brought the phone closer to him and saw Elliana's photo. She was standing near an open window of some class with her hair blowing softly. The sunlight on her face made her skin glow more than it always does, and Sebastian gulped as he kept looking at the faint smile on her face.
[This photo is posted on the University students' forum, and she is among one of the most beautiful girls in the University. She has entered the voting pool, and if she wins, she will be the campus belle of the year and awarded at the fresher's party.] Blue sent the description, and Sebastian looked at the photo with a sigh.
"Okay," he replied.
She was really beautiful.
He saved the photo to his gallery before placing the phone upside down.
He didn't feel angry anymore. It was like he went through some kind of therapy and took a deep breath before looking at his man.
"So our plan to get the information from this out couldn't be successful. Let's move to the next plan," Sebastian said, and Lucas looked at him before nodding.
He was dying of curiosity, to be honest. He wanted to know what was so important or good Blue sent to the prince that his expression and attitude took such a drastic turn, but he didn't have the guts to do so.
It looks like he will have to ask Blue himself or wait for the princess to return to the mansion so they all can hear her talk about her day.
Since Blue has sent something, it must surely be about the princess, no?
"Since we don't really have any information upfront, let's keep searching for related things. For someone to fit a bomb inside this vampire before sending him, it's something more grave than we can imagine," Sebastian said, and everyone nodded.
"What do you think, sir? Who could be behind such an atrocious practice?" Harry asked, and Sebastian looked out the window with a thoughtful expression.
He wasn't sure. It could be anyone. The humans who want to attack the kingdom using the element of surprise? The werewolves who have had bitter relations with them for the past days, or the person behind the rogue Vampire mystery.
"I am not sure. However, what I know is; this man is surely quick-witted and is probably thinking two steps ahead of us," Sebastian sipped the O+ blood from his glass before looking out.
"I don't understand, sir. Is this because we couldn't get the information from the man?" Lucas asked, and Sebastian hummed.
"That, and one more thing. According to me, the man behind this master plan had a timer-like thing. This man wasn't a first-time offender. He has done this before too. So probably after keeping every external effect in mind, he had decided on a time," Sebastian explained.
"If Blake didn't return after that time, it means he has been caught and that man activated that bomb. Or the bomb might already have a timer and once it passed the limit, it activated itself? I am sure that man didn't really plan to kill Blake. It was his last choice," Sebastian placed the glass on the table with a loud noise.
"With the advancing technologies and small businesses coming out with new explosive ideas, anything is possible," Ambrose added, and Sebastian hummed.
"Lucas, at what time does the college end?" Sebastian's sudden question confused Lucas.
"I am not sure, sir. Maybe at 5," Lucas said, and Sebastian shook his head.
"It mostly depends on how many lectures you have for the day. You know nothing. I wonder how you got that degree," Sebastian sighed, and Lucas felt attacked out of nowhere.
Lucas- "..." What was his fault again?
"Find out about the princess's schedule," Sebastian said, and Lucas nodded before calling the management and getting her a schedule. So it was about her.
"By the way, why are we trying to look for her schedule? You can always check it when you are at the palace, and she has returned -"
"How will we pick her at that rate?" Sebastian cut him off.
"You want to pick the princess after her college?"
"Yes. Is there a problem? Didn't you and Miss Zoya want me to treat her right? Now that I am ready to do it, you suddenly think it's wrong?" Sebastian asked, and Lucas shook his head.
"That's not the case, sir. I am sorry. I was merely intrigued," Lucas added quickly, and Sebastian hummed before ordering food.
As he waited for his food, he looked at Elliana's last reply before sighing. She was probably still having lunch.
Meanwhile, Elliana sat on the bench and ate her food with a content smile. Since she only had one set of cutlery. Alex had gone to bring more cutleries from the canteen for the others.
Seeing the girl, not even bothering to stop for them and continue her eating, Daniel didn't know what to think of her. She acted like this even when Alcinder assured her he would buy her more food.
Once Alex returned with the cutlery, using his vampire speed, Elliana smiled at them and extended her box in front of them.
"Help yourselves," Elliana picked a pair of chopsticks to eat the noodles.
"You know how to use these?" Daniel was shocked, and Elliana scrunched her brows.
"It's not really hard if you want to get a hold of them. Here, let me teach you," Elliana smiled and gave the new set of chopsticks to him.
"Here. Hold them like this. Put this finger under here and grab it like this so you can move it easily. Uh Uh, not like that. Yes, that's it. Like that," Elliana helped Daniel learn how to hold the chopsticks, and the latter, who was only concentrating on how soft her hands were against his, cleared his throat.
His friends immediately understood what was going on and couldn't help but bite the inside of their cheeks to stop themselves from smiling.
If they did something and Daniel's moment got interrupted, he would surely dismember them as he had warned them.
"Do you get it now?" Elliana looked up with an adulterated smile, and Daniel, whose initial plan was to mess with her again, gulped before nodding.
"Great. You are a good learner, Mr. Daniel," Elliana said, and Daniel sighed.
She was with Mr. Honorifics again.
Elliana went back to her eating and was about to stuff her mouth again when her phone vibrated with an incoming message from Sebastian.
A soft giddy smile immediately spread across her face, and her face lit up, something that didn't go unnoticed by Alcinder and Daniel, who were observing her.
[I will come to pick you up. Is that okay with you?] The message said, and a soft blush appeared on her cheeks as her mind went to what happened in the car in the morning.
The way he grabbed her to protect her from harm and pulled her close to his chest like a gentleman, hugging her so intimately and then being mindful of her privacy too, she couldn't help but blush.
"I am okay with your arrangements," she typed back before looking up at the boys who were gawking at her.
"Boyfriend?" Alcinder was the first one to ask what everyone wanted to do.
Elliana widened her eyes at the thought of the word and shook her head hurriedly.
"So, a crush?" Alcinder added, unsure why he was even bothering to ask these questions in the first place.
"No!" Elliana's defensive behavior made them chuckle.
"Calm down, girl. I am just messing with you," Alcinder stood from his place once he ate what he wanted.
He wasn't in the mood to eat anything from the beginning. It was because Daniel insisted he wanted to mess with the new girl he accompanied him here. Who would've thought they would end up sharing the same tiffin box?
As Alcinder took a step ahead, Elliana immediately held his wrist, her soft grip shocking Alcinder. Everyone looked at her with curiosity and amazement. Honestly, they were a bit scared for her. Though she was cute and everything but she was crossing her lines and testing her luck by holding Alcinder's hand now. No one has dared to even cross the council head's son, let alone hold his hand like this.
They waited for her to say something, and she wiped her mouth before closing the bento box and placing it in her handbag.
"You said you would buy me food if I am still hungry," Elliana said as if it was the most normal thing to do, and Daniel looked at Alcinder, who looked too shocked to react.
Alcinder hates it the most when someone touches him without permission, especially when that person belongs to the opposite gender.
Afraid that he might actually snap at the new girl who probably doesn't know anything about him, Daniel butted in immediately.
"Haha, you are still hungry after eating all that? Don't you have a pretty good appetite?" Daniel chuckled.
"If it's too much and you don't have money, even a chocolate shake or cold coffee would be enough," Elliana smiled at them, and the boys didn't know what to say anymore.
Did this girl think they shared food with her because they were broke? How oblivious can she seriously be?
