As the sun's gentle rays streamed through the curtains, bathing the small rented apartment in soft morning light, Ethan stirred on the bed. His eyelids lifted slowly, revealing a room awash in cozy hues.

The sensation of weight against his body pulled him further from sleep's grasp. His vision cleared, revealing the peaceful sight of Lilith, Anna, Laura, and Nora nestled beside him, each entwined with a portion of his frame.

A tranquil smile danced on his lips as he studied their slumbering forms, their breaths synchronized in a rhythmic melody. 

The room seemed to hold its breath, preserving the serenity of the moment. Yet, his gaze eventually shifted, drawn to the second bed nearby. Atop its covers rested Ryan.

Seated on the bed's edge, his legs dangling to the floor, Ryan focused intently on his task, gently wiping his shield with a well-worn rag. The hushed melody of his whistling danced through the air, a delicate tune that caressed Ethan's ears.
