Kapitel 20: Mysterious but a Strong Man
"What do you mean? Who is that man?" Shin's eyes narrowed as he asked with a serious expression.
"I don't know much about him. To be exact, not many people know about him. It's just that a week ago, he appeared in that Sacred Ground."
"And what he did shocked everyone. I don't know how much you know about Sacred Ground but from what I know, it is impossible to destroy the Sacred Ground even if they are simply a construct."
"This region holds three Sacred Towers, collectively known as Sacred Ground. Throughout history, nobody has truly reached the ninth floor of the tower."
"But, that man for some reason couldn't access the tower. I don't know why he wasn't accepted inside the tower but because of that incident, he was enraged."
"So, he destroyed those towers. He basically crushed all three of them and turned them into piles of construction materials."
"The moment that happened, World Government understood that this region no longer had anything that would attract bandits and land pirates. So, they decided to directly move their station out of this region."
"Because of that, bandits have been constantly looting the small villages. As for cities, they don't have the guts to do anything in those cities or districts. After all, those districts or cities have powerful families."
Hearing his explanation, Shin clenched his fist. Once again, he remembered the fate of the people who don't have the power to resist their fate.
The people living in these villages are simply innocents but now, they were getting slaughtered because of World Association's greed.
"Shin!" Hina worriedly caught his hand. She knew if they leave now, the village will be in big trouble.
Shin looked at her anxious expression and understood her mood. He thought for a moment and suddenly got an idea.
"I have an idea but before that, let's throw these bandits out of the village."
Shin said as he walked closer to Teach and touched his body.
He found no pulse in Teach's body or even heartbeat but surprisingly, his body wasn't dead cold.
'It must be due to his genetic mutation.'
Shin didn't think too much and lifted him up. He turned around and looked at Hina.
"Call the remaining villagers to help us throw these dead bodies to that nearby river!"
Hina nodded her head as she walked toward the forest where most villagers were hiding while Barry helped Shin lift another dead body.
Half an hour later,
They finished throwing those dead bodies into the river and returned to the village.
Shin, Barry, Hina, and the villagers stood in front of the massive funeral. They buried the dead bodies of the villagers.
All of them except Shin, Barry, and Hina were crying over the graves of their loved ones.
"This world is cold."
Shin clenched his fist and muttered.
Hina and Barry heard him but didn't say anything.
"But, I will light up the ember in this world. I will not let an innocent person die in front of me."
Shin made a vow as he looked at the villagers who were just smiling and laughing a few days ago.
Now, there was no more laughter in the village.
At this moment, Hina and Barry held his hand from each side and said in unison.
"I will definitely help you."
Feeling the warmth of their hands, Shin slowly forced a smile and said.
"Thanks! But, don't try to be brave without strength. While I don't want to let an innocent person die, the last thing I want is to see my people die in front of me."
Hearing his words, both of them nodded their heads.
After the funeral ended, Shin and others returned to Hina's bar. Shin raised his bag from the ground to the table and opened it.
There were some clothes and money but his hand only grabbed a turtle.
"What is this?" Hina curiously asked.
"Hey, isn't this Turtle Network? How do you have this? I heard it costs a lot of Zel." Barry looked at the turtle that was the size of Shin's palm and asked in surprise.
Its shell was a bright green and its body seemed a bit different. Its head was inside its shell while its tail was connected to a wire that was connected to a small tube.
"Kent gave me this when he was leaving. He said that this is a useful tool for communication and it has his number recorded in this shell."
Shin explained to Hina as he slowly picked up the tube and put it in front of his mouth.
"Call Kent!"
Hearing his explanation, both Barry and Hina understood a bit.
When Shin said that code, the head of the turtle suddenly came out of the shell and its eyes started rolling different numbers.
There were only two eyes and each time the eye blinked, it had a different number. When it finally finished flashing ten numbers, it suddenly spoke.
"Calling Kent!"
The voice of the turtle was quite funny as it sounded a bit slow.
Clack!
A few seconds later, the sound of Kent picking up his call could be heard from the mouth of the turtle.
"I thought you would call me someday but I didn't expect it to be so fast. So, what happened?"
The turtle sounded a bit slow but it was properly imitating Kent's voice.
"I am leaving the village tomorrow. I need your help on something. I asking for a favor for this." Shin spoke with a solemn voice.
"Oh! Then, congratulation on finishing your training! So, what kind of help do you need? You should know that if you plan to use my favor for a simple task, you might regret it later." Kent spoke in a funny tone.
"My village just encountered a group of bandits. According to what I learned, there will be more bandit attacks in our region. Can you prevent bandits from entering my village?" Shin asked.
Kent paused for a moment. His silence made Shin raise his eyebrows as he asked.
"Is it not possible for you?"
"No, no, I thought this would be a good way to repay your favor but I didn't expect it to expire so soon. It seems like your news is a bit outdated."
"Although I am not sure how that bandit group managed to escape, most of the bandit groups are already dead."
"If you know the reason why bandits are attacking, you must know about that man, right? Well, good news for you. He is not a psychopath killer."
"As long as you don't do anything bad, he won't kill you. But, most of the bandits or even all of the bandits who tried to attack the small villages were killed by him."
"He said that he didn't expect the World Association to be so pathetic at protecting people and also didn't know the consequences of destroying the Sacred Ground."
"He promised that he will destroy every bandit group that tries to attack the village before he leaves this region. If you don't hurry up to the next region, he might end up finishing that region before you."
"And, just a little advice, don't fight him unless you are a thousand if not tens of thousands of times stronger than me."
Kent explained.
Hearing his words, Shin and the others looked at each other with surprise in their eyes.
Shin released a deep sigh of relief and said.
"Thanks for the information, Kent!"
"No problem! By the way, since you can't enter this region's Sacred Ground anymore, you must be planning on entering the next region Sacred Ground, right?" Kent asked.
"Yes, why? Do you want to join?" Shin jokingly asked.
"Not me! I have some other plans. But, I am planning on sending my two sons and a daughter to that Sacred Ground. Since you are going there, you must pass through Kento District."
"How about you meet up with my children in Kent District? You don't have to protect them all the time, just help them see through other people's intentions." Kent asked in a serious voice.
"It seems like you trust my judgment." Shin asked.
"Of course, I do. So, do you agree?" Kent asked.
"No problem! By the way, can you tell me how can I find Kento Region?" Shin asked.
"Tch! You truly are a country bumpkin. After you leave your village, you need to go through the Forest of Goblins, then cross the River of Silent and finally pass through the City of Desert."
"When you are in the Forest of Goblins, be careful of Sneaky Goblins who can turn invisible. But, their invisibility only lasts for five seconds from the moment they use it."
"And, they can only use it once every minute."
"When you are in the River of Silent, just try to make a bigger boat to cross it or simply choose the bigger boat that is already crossing the river."
"As for the City of Desert, you don't need to worry about anyone except some powerful bandits but I believe you can easily win against them. So, Good luck with your travel!"
Hearing his words, Shin slowly let out a smile as he said.
"Thanks for the info!"
