"I have heard rumors about those playmaker rings and always wondered why you hadn't sold them in bulk but it seems you had your eyes much higher than that!" Florian said while admiring the craftsmanship of the table. "I admit I had thought about selling the playmaker rings on a larger scale but the time such an effort would demand is simply not worth it at the moment." Nick said honestly. The wizarding world is rather odd in that the prices of items have less of a set price in most cases and rather a personally set price.-
Obviously commercially sold things like ingredients and textbooks are different as they have set prices but for things created one by one like Nick's playmaker rings it was whatever he chose to charge for them. Sure he could charge an arm and a leg for anything he made due to things like rarity or even personal bias but he chose a simpler method. Form , function and effort were what he used to determine the price of his works. Form referred to the materials used and the complexity of the design the ring had. Function was all about what the enchantment did and Effort was how hard it was for him to create the ring.-
Things had escalated drastically after he got the Celebrimbor style as he had trouble objectively gauging what to charge for his works as what was easy for him to achieve was much much harder for normal enchanters. This left Nick with no real choice but to try and figure out how much lower the price for his works are compared to normal enchanters. "Anyways I created this table specifically for when I have guests over and not to sell." Nick added while dismissing his introspection. -
"How many people can play at once?" Harry asked curiously as he looked over the table. "One person for each player on a team so fourteen total." Nick said with a grin. "But there's sixteen people here." Hermione said with a frown. "I myself won't be playing and so there is only one person left out in truth." Nick said with a shrug. "I also won't be participating since I am not one for the sport either." Percy said honestly. "Well that pretty much solves that problem now doesn't it? The way to use the table is fairly simple as you merely need to place your hand on one of the fourteen gems studded along the side and it will do the rest" Nick explained with a smile.-
Everyone except him and Percy eagerly approached the table and placed their hands on the gems that lit up immediately. Seven miniature versions of each person appeared in midair above the table on broomsticks with a letter above their heads specifying which position they were playing. Nick hadn't explained that the gem chosen determined who played what position so even the actual quidditch players were in a position they weren't used to.-
For example the twins that were the beaters of the Gryffindor team were both chasers while Harry was the keeper instead of his usual seeker position. Interestingly the teams were almost perfectly split between adults and children with the children minus Ginny on one side and the adults on the other with Ginny as the odd man out. Thankfully though she was a chaser and thus not all that important compared to the keeper and seeker positions. "Bloody hell! It looks like I am actually playing quidditch!" Ron said in amazement.-
"Of course it does the avatars are based after whoever is playing them at the time and much like the original enchantment you merely need to use your mind to control your avatar , try it." Nick said helpfully. It was rather funny to see each of the avatars do twirls or barrel rolls all at once. "Once everyone is comfortable with controlling the avatars let me know so I can start the game." Nick said and got a few immediate confirmations on how handling the game. It was no surprise that the actually players were amongst that number considering they had experience from the rings that every member of the Gryffindor and Slytherin teams had.-
After about five minutes the rest were also comfortable with how to use their avatars And Nick pressed in the center of the table that was also the center of the quidditch field and the game started immediately. First the Quaffle and bludgers were released and there was a scramble as both sides tried to get possession of the scoring ball while avoiding the flying dangers that were the bludgers. The seekers of both sides on the other hand that was Sirius and Daphne flew above the rest of the players as they scanned the field for the snitch.
