Blake embarks on a perilous journey to the ZPD, seeking assistance from Nick Wilde to thwart Zack's plan to destroy Zootopia and transform its inhabitants into savage creatures. Upon reaching the ZPD parking lot, Blake rests his head on the steering wheel, deeply reflecting on his choice. He spends a few minutes devising a disguise, aware that he is among the city's most wanted criminals, making the ZPD an unwelcoming environment for him. His eyes catch a pair of stylish aviators on the dashboard and a black cap on the passenger seat.
Blake: I think I know how to get past the officers without being recognized, but I'm going to look so stupid.
He puts on the aviators and places the cap atop his head, hoping they will serve as an effective disguise. Taking a deep breath, he exhales slowly before stepping out of Regina's car. He makes his way toward the ZPD entrance, passing by several officers, including massive hippos, elephants, and intimidating predators like tigers, wolves, and lions. He strives to remain as inconspicuous as possible. As he gazes at the imposing structure of the ZPD, he enters the main hall and heads straight to the reception desk, anticipating a warm greeting from the receptionist. However, the beloved ZPD receptionist is far too engrossed in his favorite treat—donuts. Blake approaches the desk, seeking information about Nick's location.
Blake: Excuse me, sir.
The receptionist continues to indulge in his donuts, completely oblivious to Blake's presence.
Blake: HEY! You chubby donut head! Down here!
The receptionist pauses his donut chewing and turns his attention to Blake.
Clawhauser: Officer Clawhauser, How may I assist you?
Blake: Listen, you heedless cheetah, I am looking for Officer Wilde; is he on duty?
Clawhauser: Oh yes! He just came back from Bunnyburrow. You may find him in his office, on the top floor. When you walk upstairs right on the left there, walk straight in the first corridor on the right; his office is at the end of the corridor.
As Clawhauser finishes talking, he puts three more donuts in his mouth and continues munching them with great pleasure, making Blake look away for a bit with disgust.
Blake: Thanks, and...ugh...one more thing. You should go on a healthy diet. The food you eat is very unhealthy, hence why you ended up here being just an ordinary receptionist. I don't intend to offend you; it's just some useful advice, pal! Have a good night.
Clawhauser: You got a problem with my diet or what?
Blake: No, I am just trying to sound smart. Just keep gobbling up those donuts. It is the only thing you can adeptly do here as a receptionist anyway.
Blake starts walking upstairs while Clawhauser remains horrified about Blake's words.
Clawhauser: What a jerk! He looks so suspicious too. Well, back to my little sweet, lovely donuts!
As Blake walks upstairs, Clawhauser continues eating his preferred type of food. Upon reaching the first corridor on the upper level, Blake proceeds directly to the far end. The corridor is entirely deserted, with no officers around. The final door bears Nick's name. Blake knocks three times before hesitantly opening it. Inside, he finds Nick Wilde reviewing some documents, only to be abruptly interrupted by his former rival, Blake Thunder. Upon entering the office, Blake swiftly draws his silenced Beretta guns and points them at Nick, who gets shocked by Blake's unexpected arrival.
Nick: Oh hell's bells! Look who it is! The dreadful yet completely crappy hitman who has come to kill me! Is this a joke? Tell me, am I your next victim?
Blake: Hey Nick, I get it—you don't trust me, and I understand why you might feel angry about my past actions. But I'm here because there's something really serious I need to discuss with you. I could really use your help! Zootopia is counting on you right now. Please, just let me explain!
Nick looks at Blake in utter shock, struggling to come to terms with what's happening.
Nick: First of all, why are you wearing that childish cap?
Blake suddenly remembers that he's still wearing Regina's cap, and he quickly takes it off.
Blake: Oh, this? You can keep it if you want.
Blake throws it on Nick's desk.
Blake: It's my foolish disguise, I know. But back to the point. I seriously need you to cooperate and help me with something. It's urgent.
Nick: What are you talking about? How do you even dare enter my office? Or show up at the ZPD? You just walked into a den of wolves! Don't think I am going to let you out by any chance. In addition, how do you expect me to start trusting you when you're aiming your guns at me?! HOW?!
Blake: Look…..
Blake puts down his weapons, but Nick remains pretty upset.
Blake: I am here to warn you about the possible forthcoming apocalypse that will wipe out the entirety of Zootopia's residents. I am not here to hurt you or kill you. I am here to prove to you that I am a different fox; something changed in me. Please just hear me out.
Nick: You are lying! You're trying to trick me into something. I'm not willing to listen to a fox full of deceit! The Golden Fang Clan sent you here! Admit it!
Blake: No! Just listen! I no longer work for the Golden Fang Clan! I am the one who fell victim to deception for ten years! They killed my family! They used me for their own needs after ambushing my family. This is NOT a joke. I am dead serious. I would never lie about this!
Nick: Look, I am very sorry about your loss, but you've slain more than a hundred mammals. You can't keep hiding or running away from your unthinkable felonies forever! This is why I cannot find any reason to trust you at all!
Blake: If only you had a small snippet of trust in me, this would've been easier for both of us. I know you want to arrest me and interrogate me to find out the exact location of the Golden Fang Clan and then ultimately sentence me to death. If you want the location of the Golden Fang Clan, I'll tell you everything, and you don't even need to force all that information out of me.
Nick: Do you really think that voluntarily revealing their location will rectify all your mistakes? Most of the reports the ZPD received of a murder were because of you! You are convicted of repeated murderers, robberies, or any kind of atrocious crime. I'll do whatever it takes to restrain you and get you imprisoned for life! The same applies to your sweet buddies from the Golden Fang Clan!
Blake: Hey! Hey! Hey! We have strayed too far from the main topic, pal! I've come here to deliver you horrific news about Onyx Technologies, run by Zack Wolfward.
Blake gets cut off by Nick instantly.
Nick: Shut up! I don't believe a single word you're saying! Everything about you is just so ominous and downright wicked! I just can't trust you anymore. I have to do what I must to maintain justice in our city by getting rid of thugs like you are! Blake!
Nick draws his gun and points it at Blake, who mirrors his action. The two foxes are tense and wary, each carefully aiming at the other. A sudden shootout could erupt at any moment.
Blake: We don't have to do this, Nick! We're losing so much time right now!
Nick: I don't care! The only thing I am losing is my patience!
Blake: I wish you would let me talk and clarify everything! All I need is for you to calm down, sit down, and listen to me! Please!
Nick: Stop telling me what to do, you nuisance! You may be dauntless Blake, walking into my office trying to tell me fabulous childish stories, but this ends here! Drop your weapons!
Blake: You're making a mistake!
Blake tosses his weapons down in front of Nick, who swiftly kicks them beneath his desk.
Nick: Good, now turn around and put your hands above your head so I can handcuff you.
Blake: No. You're making a huge mistake, Wilde. You have no idea what the hell is about to happen tonight. You're a police officer who is seemingly lacking good judgment. What were you before you joined the ZPD once again? Oh, a con artist. This is exactly why you're so uncoordinated, failing to do your job right! That's just so rational, isn't it? I have no idea how the hell did you get enrolled. You should've stayed on the streets defrauding people! Remember, you were once in my shoes, but you decided to become the ally of justice. This is what I am doing right now. Can't you give me a chance too?
Nick: Blake I'm going to shoot you to ribbons if you don't shut up and let me do my job. I did not kill anyone, unlike you. I am nowhere close to being you! So what the hell are you talking about?! I deserve this position. I've at least achieved something in my life. I am helping people and keeping the streets safe from criminals like you. You see, I'm going to become illustrious in this whole city after I arrest you and finally put an end to this horrid threat that is you! And I am not going to let you elude, not this time!
Blake: As you wish, I tried.
Blake turns around, raising his hands above his head, while Nick trembles from the intense pressure. It's evident that he still feels unsafe and in serious danger in front of Blake.
Nick: You're going to tell me everything about the Golden Fang Clan before you're put into jail for life!
Nick approaches Blake, aiming his weapon at him. He reaches for his handcuffs to secure Blake, but in a flash, Blake spins around, disarms Nick with incredible speed, and forces him down to the ground, placing a foot firmly on his chest.
Blake: You thought I would surrender so easily? Now you're going to listen to me.
Nick: C'mon! Kill me already! That's why you came here after all! C'mon!!!! Grab my gun and shoot me in the head and see if you'll be able to deal with the consequences! My colleagues will dispatch you!
Blake: If I wanted to kill you, I'd have done it already without reluctance when I entered your office. Did I do it? No? Why? Because I need you!
Nick: WHY?! Why would you need help from a police officer who wants to arrest you?! We despise each other, you know that, right? Why me? Why would you seek help specifically from me? You should have talked to Chief Bogo instead.
Blake: Because I goddamn trust you! I know I can rely on you! And Bogo would pummel me without questions!
Nick: This is ridiculous! You're only trying to hold me back while your friends are out there doing something illegal, likely hurting my dear Judy! Get your leg off me right now! I can't trust you, Blake! I really can't!
Nick attempts to get to his feet, but he simply can't compete with Blake's power.
Blake: C'mon, knock it off. You're really annoying, you know? Can I finally tell you what's going on? Stand up!
Blake lets go of Nick and moves to the side. Nick gradually gets to his feet. Blake picks up his weapon and tosses it away from Nick.
Blake: Are we good? You're not going to arrest me or call the other ZPD officers to help you restrain me? No?
Nick just stands in one place, completely silent.
Blake: You alright?
Nick: Talk.
Blake: What?
Nick: Tell me everything.
Blake: At last! I want you to know that I have no intention of causing you or your family any harm anymore. I understand that you may never be able to forgive me for my actions a few years back on Judy's birthday, but my only wish now is to be a good friend and make amends for my past mistakes. Let's put aside what happened between us before. The Blake who tried to hurt your loved ones is no longer here. You don't need to worry. What truly matters is friendship and family.
Nick: Some memories, especially the bad ones, are impossible to forget. Why are you so different? You used to be a coldblooded killer caring about nothing but money. Why are you doing this?
Blake: You know, I've recently found out that the Golden Fang Clan is the one responsible for the assassination of my family. I want to avenge them so badly. We'll eliminate them all together! And then we'll obliterate their hideout.
Nick: Sounds like a really good plan!
Blake: But before we actually do that. I need to tell you something urgent.
Nick: What is it? You said something about Onyx Technologies?
Blake: Yes! Correct!
Nick walks up to his desk and sits down on his chair while checking some files.
Nick: Go on.
Blake: I recently had an eye-opening experience with a guy named Zack Wolfward, who took me on a tour of the Onyx Technologies headquarters. I was left in shock and fear after discovering their real intentions. They possess a range of terrifying weapons, and for years, they've been secretly working on a bio-weapon aimed at transforming every animal in Zootopia into a ferocious creature. Zack has plans to unleash this weapon from the tallest skyscraper in Zootopia as part of his operation called Thunderbolt. While I don't have details on how this weapon works or its specific capabilities, one thing is clear: we need to act fast to stop them from carrying out this plan if we ever hope to see the bright morning sun again. There are also some authorities overseeing them, but that's a tale for another day.
Nick: Wow, this is really hard to believe! I think I'm starting to trust you a bit. You didn't just make this up for fun, did you? You can't be that wild, right?
Blake: This is pure honesty and truth.
Nick: I mean, as far as I know, you are not deranged or something, and I know you value all the spare time you got so you wouldn't just simply waste it here telling me a lurid story out of boredom. So this Zack Wolfward, why is he doing this? He is clearly losing his sanity.
Blake: I made an effort to convince him, but he was completely unyielding. He is determined to go through with this operation and will stop at nothing to see it succeed. His goal is to obliterate Zootopia, reconstruct it, and transform it into a military-industrial powerhouse, all so he can pursue his research while ruling as its king, emperor, or whatever title he fancies. I'm really fed up with this. We can't allow this to take place, Nick. I'm genuinely worried that war is inevitable...
Nick: We can't just sit back and watch Zootopia fall apart, can we? It's time to take action. We need to step in before it's too late. I have a plan! I'll reach out to Bogo and see if we can send some officers over to Onyx Technologies to investigate what's really going on. This will be the moment you show everyone that you're really on our side.
Blake: So you still don't trust me after all.
Nick: You'd do the same if you were me. I am taking this with a huge grain of salt. Am I listening to you? Yes. Am I willing to do something about it? Yes. So is there something else you'd like to possibly complain about?
Blake: No, but I have to go.
Nick: What? Are you serious? This is the response I get for trying to help you?
Blake: My intention was to make you aware of this great danger, but I have to go grab something really valuable from my hideout. I'll be back! I promise! You have to have a bit of faith in me. Please! Once I am back, we'll raid Onyx Technologies together.
Nick: What about the Golden Fang Clan? Look, I understand Zack seemingly poses a great danger to Zootopia, but we gotta take care of the Golden Fang Clan too!
Blake: Wait a minute; I almost forgot. Can you get in touch with the ZDF? I am afraid the ZPD is not enough to eliminate this adversary. Only immense firepower will make sure we won't lose the battle.
Nick: Yes, I can. I will take this into consideration. I gotta talk about this with Chief Bogo. Do you seriously think they are that dangerous and powerful?
Blake: The Golden Fang Clan? Nah. But Zack's army? Yes! I've seen their top-class technology and weaponry. We shouldn't underestimate them. Do what you must, Nick. I am counting on you.
Blake walks to a window and opens it.
Nick: What are you doing?
Blake: Taking a shortcut?
Nick: And why?
Blake: Just in case I get caught by your friends on my way out through the main hall.
Nick: Now who's the one lacking faith?
Blake: Hey, I can't risk it. I've gone this far, and I am not letting anyone stop me from bringing justice to this city.
Nick: What did you just say?
Blake: You heard it pretty clearly.
Nick: Blake, hold on a second! Before you leave, I need to ask you something. Were you part of that huge shootout in Bunnyburrow earlier today? I was there with my team, checking out the scene, and I just got back.
Blake: You know, it's a bit complicated. That's where I misled my group. And just to clarify, I didn't harm any innocent people this time! Today marks the final moment I ever aimed a gun at someone who didn't deserve it, just so you're aware.
Nick: That innocent person is me. Brilliant.
Blake: When this will be all over, I will surrender so you can arrest me. I am really sorry for everything. I deserve to be punished for everything I've done in the past, especially to you and your relatives. I am really sorry.
Nick: Blake, just leave for now. We can discuss this in private when you get back. That is, if you come back...
Blake: I will return.
Blake leaps out of the window, clutching a lamppost as he slides down to the ground. Meanwhile, Nick hurries to the window to see if Blake made it down safely.
Nick: You're INSANE!
Blake: Oh shush! You know what to do now, right? Go talk to your chief about this. I am off to my hideout to claim something that is highly important to me. I'll be back in an hour.
Nick: Alright.
Nick shuts the window and begins to walk around his table, contemplating how to convey everything to Chief Bogo and whether he can really put his trust in Blake.
Nick: What in the hell just happened? How did I get myself into this madness?
He lets out a frustrated sigh and quickly leaves his office, making a beeline for Chief Bogo's office. Without bothering to knock, he bursts in, catching Bogo off guard as he reviews some papers at his desk.
Nick: Hey Chief! Chef! Sir! We need to have a really important conversation right now. It's crucial!
Chief Bogo: Officer Wilde, it is a pleasure to see you return at last! May I ask about the urgency of your arrival? You appear to be quite anxious. What happened? I sincerely hope you bring positive news regarding the investigation in Bunnyburrow.
Nick: I got something even more important. This may be impossible to believe, but Blake Thunder was here claiming his friend at Onyx Technologies is planning to take over Zootopia by using some kind of bioweapon thingy to turn everyone into savage beasts. He is asking for our help, and I don't know what to do. I understand this may seem like a story from a fairy tale, but it's the reality we're facing, believe it or not.
Chief Bogo: Well, I'll be damned! Where is he? Did you arrest him?!
Nick: Seriously? You're only focusing on what I said about Blake? I had to let him go for good reasons. Just hear me out! We had a deep chat about his friend's plans, and I really think you need to take action on this. I'll fill you in on all the details!
Chief Bogo: You are kidding me, right? You let him go? You could've arrested that fox for good! He has been an enormous thorn in the side of the ZPD, and you just let him go?
Nick: Look, sir! I want to explain everything! We don't need to unnecessarily argue about this right now. Please! Hear me out!
Bogo is really ticked off about Nick letting Blake go as he pounds his fist on the desk in frustration.
Chief Bogo: You think I am going to listen to your absurd fairy tales, Wilde? Back when you graduated from the ZPA, I had such high expectations for you becoming another iconic officer of the ZPD, judging by your impressive performance as a cadet on the training courses. Now you're clearly failing to do your job properly. Letting criminals off the hook will not be tolerated; besides, I think you've been assigned to solve the Bunnyburrow case, and now you're back. I require a comprehensive account of the events that happened there.
Nick: Excuse me?! Sir, I didn't do anything bad. I did what I thought was righteous; you can't just blame me for nothing; sure, I let him go, but for a good reason! If you really think I did something wrong, I dare you to substantiate your allegations about me! You're only aggravating this whole situation right now!
Chief Bogo: I don't care!!! You let one of the biggest criminals in this city go! There. Is this enough? Do you realize we could've finally found out where the Golden Fang Clan operates by interrogating him?
Nick: I know, but there's something you're still missing: the truth. Now, onto the main topic, chief, you gotta hear me out!
Chief Bogo: Officer Wilde, I think you should return to your office and continue doing your job before I change my mind and dismiss you for your negligence.
Nick: Are you implying that I am a criminal too who is helping another criminal?
Chief Bogo: I simply wish for you to prioritize your primary responsibilities, Wilde. Did you investigate the Bunnyburrow shootout that occurred today in the afternoon? That's all my buffalo ass cares about right now.
Nick: Fine, I'll tell you everything, but after that, I need you to listen to me, as I want to bring something even bigger to your attention.
Chief Bogo: For the first time in my life, I actually care now. Speak! Tell me what you know.
Nick: After being dispatched to Bunnyburrow alongside other officers, we discovered that during the shootout there was a coordinated assault involving three distinct groups of people. Two of these groups were allied against a third group comprised of otters. It appears that one of the factions had ties to the Golden Fang Clan. Upon our arrival, we had to neutralize any remaining armed criminals who had survived the confrontation. Unfortunately, it was a devastating day for the Bunnyburrow Police Department, as they suffered significant losses. We conducted an investigation of the area, including a house that had been set ablaze. Residents reported a substantial explosion that rattled the ground, indicating that explosives had likely been used. Firefighters managed to extinguish the flames. Additionally, we searched for further evidence within the house, which seemed to be a primary target for one of the groups. The air was thick with the odor of burnt drugs and various substances. Although we found a basement filled with drugs, we were unable to determine the specific types due to the fire and explosion that had destroyed much of the evidence. This strongly suggests that the homeowner was involved in drug dealing and likely had outstanding debts, which may have led to the violent shootout. We also interviewed local bunnies, who provided valuable information regarding the incident. The area remained under strict lockdown until we completed our investigation.
Chief Bogo: Wilde, you caught my attention with this. This is truly credible. But if you didn't let Blake go, we would have solved this case altogether.
Nick: I believe there's nothing to argue about because I got some good news. Blake said he will return in an hour! So, don't worry.
Chief Bogo: Wait, he said he would return? I think he is that one cunning fox that is hard to trust after all his wrongdoings.
Nick: It all began when Blake walked into my office seeking our assistance. He's caught in a dilemma involving a friend who's allegedly plotting to seize control of Zootopia with a bioweapon created at Onyx Technologies. Honestly, I can see why someone would consider betraying a friend in such a situation, especially if they're not the type to crave total power. Blake was completely serious about this; there was no hint of a joke. Chief, all I'm asking is for you to allow us to investigate the compound.
Chief Bogo: And you're going to believe every single word that miserable fox says? We can't just simply trust that fox. He didn't even corroborate his statement, did he?
Nick: No, he did not, but he is willing to help us eliminate the Golden Fang Clan too! Besides, the evidence lies at Onyx Technologies. I think the only way to confirm whether Blake was lying is to allow me to go there with some of our men so we can investigate the place.
Chief Bogo: You see, we never really accepted any foxes or rabbits in our police force until your partner, Officer Hopps, was miraculously enrolled. She proved herself to be competent and diligent regardless of her small size. The question is, can you do that too? I am giving you a chance, Wilde, to become the new icon of the ZPD and make history just like Judy did. I still feel dubious about Onyx Technologies being a threat to our kingdom, but if there is a possibility that they are developing a bioweapon that could endanger everyone in the city, even the slightest possibility, then we will intervene. And if we won't be able to deal with the problem, I will get in touch with General Fluxx from the ZDF, who will wipe Onyx Technologies off of the surface of the planet.
Nick: Look, if you have any doubts about me or anything else, it will be proven wrong! I am not who you think I am. I swore I would serve the citizens of Zootopia, bring peace, and maintain order and justice here, and that's what I am going to do at all costs! You can count on me. After this is over, we will track down the Golden Fang Clan with the help of Blake and make our city completely safe from criminals.
Chief Bogo: That's more like it! Now go!
Nick and two more officers have been dispatched to Onyx Technologies, who are going to investigate the complex to find out if they have evil intentions and whether they've developed a disastrous weapon to bring an end to Zootopia.
