The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Australia made it clear that although Australia does have sufficient mineral resources, if they were to sell them to the island nation, the price would need to at least double.
The difference of doubling the price should not be underestimated. The industrial imports of mineral resources required by a country are measured in tens of thousands of tons, and a price difference of one fold could lead to a cost increase of tens of thousands or even tens of thousands of pounds.
Tomizawa Yoichiro also anticipated that Australia would raise the prices of mineral resources. After all, the fundamental aspect between nations is their interests. If one does not strive for the interests of their own country, it is equivalent to treason.
