Kapitel 224: 23. So What.

I arrived in Colorado and then drove to our house in the early morning. By the time I got to the driveway, it was still dark, so the lights came on and Adam was already walking out, as was Samuel. The men seemed to be a little tense, and I got out of the car. I didn't even have time to grab all the supplies as they were already carrying them in.

I saw Samuel taking everything to the medbay. I had once again miraculously got rid of my fear a little bit, but you never know. I was carrying my backpack on my shoulder after I had taken off my outer clothes. I sat down on one bed.

Samuel said, "Let me look through those papers. What have you found?"

I handed over the file and said, "This is what Damon sold to Sark. I have some other papers relating to other people's samples. I got them from those very gigs and then there are my notes, samples, and results."

Samuel grunted and went to the desk to read them. I helped Adam unpack my bag and showed him my poison collection.

I said, "Just as Damon makes velvet when he gets nervous, I make poisons, I mean, even when I'm driving my car and I get upset with road users. So I brought a collection to show you. A flea made this analyzer, and this tells you how stable these are. And they are, so my poisons are good for a long time."

I hadn't noticed that Samuel had looked up and listened. He strode over to us, said nothing as he examined the jars, opened one, and sniffed. Then he lifted each jar onto one of the top shelves of the cabinet and locked the cabinet with his own key that was in his belt. No one could get into that cabinet but him.

He came up to me and said, " Fine, it looks like one of your enzymes is really important. But what is it?"

I said, "I've taken samples from me and Mimosa."

I gave him the results of the analysis. I had highlighted the same enzyme.

Samuel said, "So you have the same enzyme as Mimosa, and this is not normal. Did you have samples?"

I nodded. I gave all the microscopic samples first, my special microscope. He took them to his microscope, looked through a few, and then put them in his bag next to the table.

He looked at me sharply and said, " Is this all the samples, all of them?"

I said, " Microscope samples, but I have tissue samples and blood samples here in my cooler."

He took that too and packed it away. He took all my notes, and every piece of equipment when I showed him the enzyme analyzer and also the toxin analyzer. He was quiet, but I could see he was upset about something. So he wanted to be pissed off about something, but he was trying to control himself.

Samuel said, " Never investigate yourself again. You see. Never. No more samples or theories. That's the end. Did I make myself clear? I can have Adam confirm this, but you do no research on yourself. If you find any information, bring it to me or Colin. Don't store it and don't give it to Damon first. Let me look them over and then decide if it's safe to give and you give every jar of poison as soon as you do as fast as you can away to either me or Adam, not Damon."

Samuel was furious. I couldn't understand why.

I said, "I don't research. I understand, but why can't I investigate?"

Samuel sighed and said, "First, because you don't understand yourself. You have a fucking powerful will to make your body do strange things. You made your biological half's blood stop working when you got pissed off. So you blocked the best way to heal yourself. I will not let you jeopardize your health by getting some theory in your head and having it come true when it shouldn't."

His eyes flashed briefly bright blue, showing that his wolf was on the surface and he was very upset. He took a breath, ran his hand through his hair, and continued.

"Second, your replicating enzyme. Did Damon tell you anything? You have an enzyme. We all have our own to help you grow a new organ if the previous one is badly damaged. Normally there's a balance, the body blocks it as soon as the new organ is up and running, but not you. You had grown yourself full of organs, each organ was several copies. It's such a waste of energy as it is. You can't use those organs yourself. They don't get absorbed even if they're made into a visceral mush. Now I don't know how bad the damage is that you need to grow too many. You're not a doctor and you shouldn't take any samples of yourself or your liver, because I can't tell you that this enzyme isn't activating. Damon just stopped it with his dentifrice and if it's that time again, I can't trust that he'll always be available. So don't interfere with yourself. Likewise, if you get a lot of blows, hard blows, at a gig or something, come in for a checkup, those organs are easier to remove when they're small. Keep yourself and your body safe."

I nodded. Just thinking what a fucking special creature I am. Samuel seemed to calm down a bit when he got his point across, and I realized he had been worried about everything. What he said was quite obvious. I understood everything.

Samuel looked at me, took a jar out of his bag, and said. "These are contraceptive capsules, one a week. So you won't conceive, no matter what. One a week. Keep these away from Damon and Bran. I'll give you more, but that's 52, for a year. Say nothing to Damon. I am not wanting him to nullify those with his dental stuff."

I nodded. I agreed one hundred percent. I didn't want any more miscarriages. I took the capsules, walked into the kitchen, and immediately took one with Coke. Samuel had gone away by then.

Adam came to watch and said, " You are a special creature and I will arrange some system for you to put the poisons in as soon as they come. And maybe something. I don't know what will help with the road rage or making those poisons. "

I laughed, and said, " I have to eat again. I ate nothing on the way."

Adam sat me down and started taking food from the fridge, setting the table, and putting the coffee on. He seemed satisfied. Mimosa was hungry, so she came out. Adam stroked and cuddled Mimosa, then got her a huge portion of meat and meaty bones for dessert.

Samuel then came back a couple of hours later. Mimosa could be loose for 12 hours and she lay on Adam's lap and he stroked her while I sat in an armchair reading anatomy. Samuel snapped his fingers at Mimosa, who sighed, rolled her eyes, and watched Samuel.

Samuel looked at me and said, " You, missy, are next, then. No problem, I suppose?"

I nodded. It was again that he wanted to check us out. The morning was just beginning to dawn, and I was tired. But I didn't want to sleep as I didn't feel safe yet. I was determined to be as independent as possible and once I got my environment back to where I controlled everything, then I would be safe to sleep, but when that meant being in control of everything.

At first, I redid our bedroom and changed everything from the carpets, curtains, and bedding. I gave the room a good makeover. Then I didn't even have time to go to eat again when Samuel invited me to the medbay. Mimosa could still be loose and Samuel now only wanted to examine me. When this was all new.

He had me sit in a chair for a while after he had gone through me and taken dozens of tubes of blood, samples from all over my body, and always put Damon's blood in to heal me so that the multiplication enzyme wouldn't activate.

A lot of the equipment was whirring, even making a loud noise. The centrifuge howled when he had put my blood sample tube in the machine. He kept the medbay as odorless as possible so I wouldn't panic, and he was very careful to make each procedure as stress-free for me as possible.

The medbay was a large space, as these always are, with white walls and tiled floors, cupboards, and machines in place. And then there was always the operating theatre, patient beds and there were three incubators. Then there was now some new chair. It was made of steel. It seemed to have leather straps, apparently for restraint, various levels, and tubes at the end of the levers. I looked at the chair.

Samuel said, "How brave you are right now? I want to examine your teeth and the way you do things. I've actually never taken a scan of you and that chair is built for that. It has restraints, but that's so you don't fall."

I said, "Fine, I can be brave."

Samuel brought three capsules and said, " Take those to start with. "

I didn't ask what they were for, I just swallowed them with a glass of juice. Then I sat down while Samuel was still doing something on the machine. One machine went off. Samuel was looking at the results, grunting to himself. He had put a tissue sample into one machine and I hadn't studied machines and equipment yet. I read some medical magazines that were on the table while Samuel still studied results.

He muttered almost to himself, "I see you haven't eaten as much as you should, but then again you feel no hunger, so there is that too..."

I said, "I have tried to keep times when I eat, but it is not always working."

He grunted and continued to see when new results came in. 15 minutes later, I was getting tired and my eyes were heavy.

Samuel looked at me and said," Good, you're relaxing. Come on, I'll help you to your seat."

He ushered me to a chair, tied me up, and I sat there with my legs slightly apart, my hands on the armrests, my head resting on some sort of stand and he slipped the collectors into my fangs as he made a small cut on his finger so that my fangs came out instinctively. I was now so drugged I couldn't control my teeth.

He said, "Well, now you just sit there and first I'll scan you, so from the ceiling there will be a device. It will move around your head and the capsules will have a sedative in them and some contrast, so I'll get a good picture. And then I'll come, I'll let you smell my blood and your teeth will react to it. I'll keep the scan on all the time while you're doing the substance and when it drains into the collectors. That's how I'll get all your pathways. I sedated you just for the sake of it, as it takes time. You need to be still and you might be nervous about being restrained for long spouts at a time. It is just paramount that you are absolutely still while scanning, thus restraining."

He smiled, made sure I was how I was supposed to be, and then went to the machine and pressed a button.

There was a whirring sound, and a box came down from the ceiling it was the closest thing to a box and it came very close to my head, started circling around my head for several turns I think, and then Samuel brought a blood tube full of blood and my fangs started reacting to it as the blood kept smelling up my nose.

The device circled around my head and eventually; I felt the substance drain from my teeth and the headache stopped, then Samuel came to take the blood tube out and let the imaging continue as long as the substance continued to drain.

Finally, the machine went back up to the ceiling, and he came and untied me, and took the collectors out, I had done at least a liter of the stuff and the bag was striped and there was a lot of different stuff and Samuel was carefully carrying the bag away excitedly.

I was almost asleep, and I felt Adam come and pick me up and carry me somewhere; it was a different bedroom. He helped me into my nightgown, undressed himself, and then took me to sleep against him. I was still medicated and fell asleep in the complete safety and warmth of Adam's embrace.

When I woke up I felt so much more rested and realised, I had been safe and no matter how much I controlled my environment, the security I got from having someone sleeping next to me, holding me, was priceless.

Adam had already gone somewhere, and I took a shower myself, got dressed and went into the kitchen to find breakfast. Adam was there working, and the table was already set. Fresh coffee smelling my nose and I was looking forward to eating.

He sat me down at the table, carried me some food and a drink, saying, " Your blood count wasn't up to par so now you'll be here for a few weeks on a power diet and no gigs, you're in the house now and I'll feed you and make sure you eat."

I said, " Fine, I can bake and cook myself. Let's order a fuck load of supplies and I've got ideas, recipes printed out so we can start trying to cook."

Adam smiled and said, "Fine, you can do it. I'll take care of the fleas with Magnum, and with Jake you bake and cook and eat. Let's see if we can get your weight up any and maybe Samuel will take another blood test at some point. "

I nodded. I knew Samuel was studying my results, my dentals, my enzymes. Adam showed me after lunch the cabinet that would come in every house. That's where I would put all the dentals right when I came through the door.

It was actually a tube mail machine and the jars would go right into the medbay cabinet that only Samuel had the keys to. Adam and Samuel didn't trust Damon now as he was having a different season and the fact that he was selling things to the Sark was not a good thing at all.

I started cooking and baking. Damon didn't show up for three weeks, and I was enjoying myself in the kitchen all that time. I was free to make different dishes and bake. Yes, all the food was eaten and especially the baked goods disappeared. I had wished I could have frozen some but these were always ready and when I had baked goods cooling; they ate what was ready. Samuel and Adam took good care of that.

Adam had taken me for a drive and I had already been to the De la Renta shop for a fitting and I knew that the dress was going to be corset style so it would be laced up the back, no zipper. Damon's request. So where was the whole man? I had gone to the hairdresser to order and give them the address. I didn't know if the whole wedding was ever coming, but I'd done my bit.

After four weeks and three blood tests, when I weighed 58 kilos, I was off to a gig or to do some flea work. I then decided to go to Monaco to deal with the fleas again from my headquarters.

There the Medbay had been put in order. There were locked cupboards, plus Adam had made protocols with the fleas about the drugs and had also warned them about Damon. Mimosa gave gig lists almost weekly, so I gave Adam a pretty demanding gig list for America, and he promised to get them right.

Samuel was now studying my enzymes with his research group. He was very excited about it and was trying to collect my enzymes in case someone ever stolen them, especially the enzyme that I shared with Mimosa and he couldn't make sure or deny that it wasn't the enzyme they were looking for.
