I couldn't help looking at Madame Rose with a strange look.

I couldn't tell if she was asking this question on purpose or if she really didn't know…but judging by the look on her face, it seemed like she really didn't know…

Madame Rose nodded in response to this before saying, "I also thought of that, but that seems like it would be too crude. After all, there were many different ways they could have taken care of the evidence that didn't involve burning down the entire manor. They could have created fake evidence that pointed the blame away from them and then followed up on that…"
