Kapitel 152: Bated Breaths IV

Everyone held their breaths at the possibility of Princess Drusilla having lost her innocence before marriage. Not only that, unlike Queen Yvaine, she didn't even have a long-term partner with whom she shared a star-crossed romance! That in itself was blasphemous. 

At first, everyone sat around and waited for the new gossip and rumors of Queen Daphne to drop. Now, it seemed like the tides had turned and it was the young Reawethen princess that was thrust into the spotlight of the most undesired stage.

"I… I…" Drusilla stuttered, her eyes darting everywhere but at the ring as though as long as she didn't look at it, she could pretend that it didn't exist.

"You do understand what is happening right now, yes?" Cordelia asked. "For every second that you don't wear the ring, you're basically cementing the fact that you are indeed afraid of proving your innocence." Cordelia's lips twisted into a sharp smile. "Which also implies that you are, in fact, not."
