Kapitel 22: Chapter 22: Boredom
Aliyah started walking along the path and we were just about to enter section two of the forest. It's slightly more dangerous but that's a thing to keep in mind at all times.
The fox cub was sleeping soundly on my head.
"So what are you going to name the little guy?" asked Aliyah.
Oh shit. I forgot about naming him! I then said, "Uhh. I don't actually know yet. I'll keep thinking about a name! I'll let you know when I have the name picked out."
"Alright. Sounds good!" said Aliyah.
A name, huh? What would I even name this little guy? I don't want to choose a cheap name like "Milk" since he has white fur.
I don't like cheap names. I wouldn't be objected to using a name that is usually used for humans. But I honestly want it to be a rare and unique name.
What are some things that I like? It could be beneficial to me if I name it something cool. And by beneficial, I mean it would make me happy.
Let's see...I like nature, games, books, anime, space...wait. Space! I think it'd be cool to name him something space like.
Nothing like "Star" or "Galaxy". Maybe more like "Supernova". But that name is a bit too long.
After giving a name a little more thought, I had come up with a name.
I looked down at Aliyah and said, "I have a name chosen for the fox."
"What is the name?" asked Aliyah. I answered, "Nova. His name will be Nova."
I then petted Nova who was soundly asleep on my head. He had started to shift his legs and started to stretch out.
I took him off of my head and held him in my arms. Nova started to wake up slightly but he was still in a dazed state.
Nova yawned and went back to sleep while I held him. Lazy bastard, haha.
I wish I could be as relaxed as Nova is. But alas, I have to remain vigilant in case we get attack by any more monsters.
My leg getting burned was truly unfortunate but that only has given me another goal. I want to learn healing magic soon.
Without it I could easily die and that's no good. I already died once...
Dying another time would truly suck. And I don't even know if I'll get another chance at life after this one.
Although I don't want to be greedy. I'm already grateful that I was given another chance at life. And in a cool as fuck fantasy world none the less!
I'm bored as hell so maybe I can ask Gem some random questions about this world?
Like: can I get my hair colour changed naturally or artificially with like a hair dye?
[Answer: Yes. Your hair colour will change on accordance with your mana levels and Evolution stage. There also exists hair dyes but they can be toxic to beastmen.]
Alright. Maybe my hair will turn silver-white upon evolving? I honestly hope so.
[Answer: That is a possibility. You have a 37% chance of receiving a silver-white type hair colour upon evolution.]
A whole 37%. Nice! But now the other question, can I change my hair colour willingly back to black after it changed?
[Answer: Yes. You can change your hair colour to any of the unlocked colours through evolution. Upon unlocking a new hair colour you can mix the new and old colour to get a new type. Example: previous black hair + new white hair = black hair with white stripes throughout.]
Okay. That sounds easy enough. After all, I'm almost ready to evolve. Only one more level.
[There is also the way to change your hair colour to white permanently or just for a long period of time depending on how much mana is over used. If you expend your mana past your reserved limit, you will enter a coma like state for the next 7 days. Due to the lack of mana, your hair colour will change accordingly.]
Well, okay. That seems a little troubling but there is nothing I can do about it.
Next question, is evolution available to everyone? Or only certain races and monsters?
[Answer: Evolution is mainly for beastmen, demon kin, and monsters. Humans can evolve in rare instances but it only increases their power slightly as to where beastmen get a decent power increase. But evolution only happens in less than 15% of the beastmen population, 20% of the demon population, and 100% of the monster population.]
So...I'm going to get way stronger from evolving?
[Answer: Yes.]
Nice. That will come in handy. Hopefully it also increases my height!
[Answer: you will gain 2 cm of height after evolving.]
Fuck. I guess I really will be short for my entire life. Whatever.
Well, on to the next question. Are there any things that show up on my [Inspect] skill that gives achievements? Like if I were to slay a dragon, I could have an achievement named "Dragon Slayer".
[Answer: Yes. There are titles for achieving certain things. For example you have the title(s); Beginner Mage, Goblin Slayer, Reincarnator, Soul God's Pupil, Champion of The God of Soul Reincarnation.]
Well, that's a handful of them already! I guess I really am a "Goblin Slayer" since I have killed over forty of those green bastards.
I'm getting more bored by the minute... Maybe I can pass the time by randomly inspecting things? I honestly just want something to do at this point.

Huh? "Kitsune"... doesn't that just mean "fox"?
[Answer: Yes, and no. The term "Kitsune" in your old world refers to the Japanese term for foxes and/or a fox spirit. The term "Kitsune" in this world solely refers to the cub of a Fox God or a Fox God itself.]
Wait. Hold on a second! So you're telling me that Nova is part God?
[Affirmative.]
Well, I'll be. Is that why his fur is white?
[Affirmative.]
Then what about the singular orange stripe on his head?
[Answer: When the fur of a Fox God is not unified to be the pure colour white, the fox is deemed to be defective and is cast out of the Realm of Land God's.]
Oh? Tell me more about this "Realm of Land God's". It seems pretty cool just from the name of it!
[The "Realm of Land God's", also know as simply the "Realm", is a separate dimension dedicated for housing Gods and spirits of animals. For example; the current head of the Kitsune is 461 years old and has been on term for the past 247 years. Every 250 years a new candidate is chosen to lead the certain animal group. The Realm also can be visited by humans and demons in very rare cases but it is more likely to be able to go there when you are a beastman due to obvious reasons.]
So I have a chance at meeting even more Gods?
[Yes.]
Okay...that's totally not worrisome at all. For one, I now have a "defective" Kitsune in my hands. And two? I thought I would only have to deal with Kai.
Hopefully if I do meet the Land God's they're not absolute dickheads. That would be not so fun.
So what I've learned so far is that Nova is part God, about the Realm of Land God's, and another thing about evolution.
All in all, I would call it a successful amount of information learned.
I guess all I can really do now is just admire the beauty of nature.

Magueye I'll be taking a prolonged break sooner or later. I will be back one day! Also, I really like the topic of hair colour and how it can change based on my ideas so I was just putting it there to kind of explain something I had been thinking of.
