Kapitel 5: Chapter 5: My First Encounter!
I decided to start my journey to find what is commonly known in an isekai as the "starter town". But in all honesty, I had no fucking idea where I was headed.
I had been walking around aimlessly with no idea where I needed to go so I decided to ask the system. "Hey system? Where is the nearest town or city?" I said.
[Rybim is the nearest city and is quite a popular place for visiting adventurers.] 'There's adventurers? That must mean one thing, AN ADVENTURERS GUILD!' I screamed in my mind with excitement.
"Alright, can you tell me how to get there from my location?" I replied. [Go east.] I looked above me and saw that the sun was rising so I turned right and headed east.
Looking around, I noticed a few birds that didn't exist in my old world. Some had purple feathers, some had pink.
In all honesty? They look cool as hell like that!
-[10 Minutes Later]-
I was walking along when something made a sound in the nearby brush.
I quickly drew my short sword and since it is close to a combat knife, I should be able to use it decently. It is a bit larger, though.
I also took kendo classes during Junior High and Secondary school. It's all finally going to pay off! "Rahh!" A goblin jumped out and yelled.
He landed in front of me and it held what looked like a broken rusty machete. The goblin looked exactly as I thought it would.
The goblin was a small, green-skinned, pointy eared, humanoid monster.
It swung the machete at me but I blocked it with my sword and kicked the goblin's kneecap, making him fall backwards a bit. I took the opportunity that I made and stabbed the goblin in the head.
It died immediately. 'Hmm. This is quite the predicament. This small child's body has decreased my strength more than I thought...' I said in my mind.
[Pearl has killed a goblin. Pearl has gained 10XP.] 'Oh? So that's how it works?' I said in my head. "Hey system? Can I check my stats?" I said. The next thing I know, a panel showed up in front of me and it listen my stats.

[Mana: 100/100]
[XP: 10/20]
[Skills: Otherworldly Luck]
[Strength: 7, Intelligence: 18, Defense: 4, Charisma: 7]
[Status will update with the leveling up and physical growth of Pearl.]
"Ah. My stats are pretty low. Well, I am only five years old." I said gloomily. "Hey system? What is the skill called 'Otherworldly Luck'?" I said to the system.
[Otherworldly Luck is the name of the skill that was granted upon you by the God of Reincarnation. It is customary for a god to give a skill to a reincarnated person or a champion in the makings.] There is something I want to try now.
'I wonder...' I thought. "Hey system? Can I give you a name?" I said. [Yes. What would you like to name me?] Hmm. Oh! I know. How about..."Gem?" I said. "Since my name is Pearl, you can be Gem!"
I said happily. [Name registered. I am now known as "Gem".] I asked Gem, 'And another question. Will I be able to change your name in the future if I want to?'
[Answer: Yes. Every 365 days since naming [System], you can rename the [System] to whatever the User wants.]
Alright! That seems fair. Thank you, Gem.

After this whole ordeal I ran into a few more goblins along the way and I killed them all! I leveled up to level 3 because of it. My strength also had risen to 9 instead of 7 now. I should almost be at Rybim, I think.
Whilst killing more goblins, I had Gem explain to me some of the things inside of Rybim. The first thing I'm doing is applying to be an adventurer, although I may be too young...
Anyways, it also seems like there is some sort of religious activity in a lot of the country I'm in. And it deals against beastmen.
So I might be discriminated but I don't care. I mean, inside I am a 40 year old retired United States marine. So those things won't faze me!
"Oohhh! I can see the walls of Rybim!" I said with excitement. I started to approach the walls and I. saw this line to get inside. It was about 20 metres long! 'Ah, shit. I'm going to be here a while...' I said in my mind.
It took about 30 minutes for my turn and the man at the gate asked me, "Identification card, please." I replied with, "Identification card? What's that? Some kind of ID I would guess?"
The man who asked me that question wasn't really paying attention for the entire time but after he heard my voice, he looked down to see me. A small five year old fox girl with black hair. Oh, and for safety reasons, I stored my wand and short sword in my Storage.
"Oh. Hello little girl. Where are your parents? They have to be here somewhere, right?" said the man. I looked at him but he was pretty suspicious to me so I stayed silent.
The man then looked at me and his facial expression changed as if he understood something.
He knocked on a door that was next to him and whispered something to a woman that came out of that door.
After he was done, the woman who looked to be in her early 20's came over and brought me through the door she came out of. 'Maybe they think I'm a lost child?
Well, I guess I am now, huh?' I said in my mind with zero emotion.
After walking with her for a few minutes we came across another woman at a desk. She looked to be in her mid 40's or so.
The two women talked about something but it was too quiet for me to hear. 'So these big ass ears are basically useless...' I thought.
After that, the older lady at the desk said, "Don't worry, little one. We'll help you find your parents or someone you know!"
The thing is, my parents in my old world died in a plane crash. And in this world I don't have any to begin with. At least to my knowledge.
Well, this is going to be interesting. Let's see where it goes from here.
