Kapitel 12: Regret, distance, return to school

Rumi POV
Light danced on my eye lids causing me to stir. As I began to stretch my body I felt something foreign in my bed. Opening my eyes the half naked body of Gloxinia entered my view and with it the memories of the prior night. Biting my lip I couldn't help but mutter " what did I do?"

For every moment longer I watched his figure regret began to pile on. I may love him but he was still young, I had taken advantage of his naïveté. Standing up I quickly moved towards my dresser to began getting ready for the day. The speeds at which I prepared myself would be considered fast even by all mights standards. Moving down stairs I immediately headed for the door skipping even breakfast. Heading out the door I began to play last nights events in my head yet again, only one option came to my mind.
'I guess it's time for some distance between us'.

Gloxinia POV

"Emmmmm…" with a groggy mumble I opened my eyes. What greeted me was a foreign yet familiar ceiling. It was one I recognised as rumi's yet knew wasn't my own. Sitting up in the bed I couldn't help but recount last nights events. A smile trudged my lips as I made why into the bathroom to begin my day.

Once finished in the bathroom I returned to the bedroom and put on my clothes from the prior night. They where slightly creased but I would have to make do until I return to the orphanage. Fully clothed I made my way into the living room where my phone had been left over night. Turning on my phone what greeted me was a message which made me loose my smile.

[ sender: Rumi
Gloxinia. we need some distance between us]

Looking at the text I couldn't help but let out a sigh. Putting my phone into my pocket I left rumi's house and made my way towards the orphanage.

I didn't bother to fly, I decided to walk. Whilst doing so I had time to air out my thoughts, view things from Rum's perspective.

" To her I'm just a child aren't I. She practically raised me with Sakura before she became a full time hero." Contemplating this situation for awhile longer I came to a conclusion. " Giving her time to think is good. Giving her too long to think will make things awkward."

Continuing my walk back the orphanage took me nearly an hour but once I stood in front of its gates I mumbled to myself. " should I tell her? About my life as the fairy king?" Since awaking the system it's not that I've not only gained his powers but other things as well. As the percentage rises more of Gloxinia bleeds into me. His memories, emotions, personality all of it. This was something I had come to term with and expected long ago.

Walking inside I noticed most common places to be extremely barren, but that was to expect it was a Sunday. Picking up a drink and something to eat I made my way towards my room. Due to my age I was given a personal room so I didn't have to share with others.

Placing my food and drink onto the nightstand I clasped backwards onto my bed looking at the a ceiling for the second today. My feelings a contradiction at how it was before. Despite only being awake for a short time I already felt tired.

Checking my phone one last time I noticed that nothing was new. No new messages or notifications. Today was complicated, emotions that I didn't understand flourished in my mind bringing confusion and doubt. ' The simplicity of high school can be a treat.' That was my only thought. Knowing that the school week was about to begin meant my days would be planned for me. It wouldn't require much to move forward on those days.

~time skip, next day, Monday~

"Beep…beep…beep… bang!" It was early around 6 in the morning. Opening my eyes I looked over towards my alarm clock. In my drowsy state I turns out I smashed it. Sitting up and moving onto the side on my bed I held it in my hands. ' damn now I'll have to buy another…' my thoughts however where interrupted by the sound of heavy footsteps approaching my door. With yet another bang my door flung open.

" Gloxinia! What was that noise are you okay!" Looking at Sakura the matron who was holding a broom like a weapon I couldn't help but smile.

" ah, I'm sorry Sakura. I accidentally smashed my alarm clock." My tone embarrassed I lift said alarm clock so she would cease her worry's. With a relived sigh she quickly composed herself.

"Well Gloxie your back to school after that dreadful incident! Please stay safe and watch the roads on your way. Also theirs some food ready downstairs for you." Sakura was a cheerful person. Even so she was more shaken then I over the USJ incident.

Watching her leave I thought to myself about what I could do ease her worries. 'Winning the sports festival should allow her to see I'm strong. Strong to the point that nearly no one can beat me.' With that I had decided. I was going for first place and I was going to make sure it was a decisive victory!

~ few hours later, class 1 A ~

Gloxinia pov.

Making my way through the ground of UA high i pondered about current and future events. To gain the most from the system I'd need to make changes in the story. The more significant the better. However that comes with risks, those being that I loose my advantage of knowing future events.

Within a short time I arrived at the class room door. Sensing the life signature's around me I could tell I was the last to arrive, bar Aizawa. After taking my seat a silence descended, could see some if not most of my peers blatantly starring at me other did so secretly. However you couldn't blame them, the strength and tactical precision I showed with my abilities was far above their own.

Yet instead of inferiority they eyes held desire, not desire for my power but to improve upon themselves. At this I couldn't help but smile. Not everything appeared as it did in the original.

The sound of a sliding door made them refocus on the front of the class it was our teacher Aizawa Shōta. " everyone quite! Your fights not over yet.." at this their was an audible gasp from some " the UA sports festival is next week so you need to prepare."

At my teacher I couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. Although he appears to be mostly emotionless he definitely enjoys the suffering of others. It might not be to a large degree but it's still there. After the announcement the day continued as normal my classmates though had a new fire ignited in their being.

———————————-

Hey everyone I know it's been awhile since the last chapter and I'm just sitting her at like 6 am. So if theirs gramma issues not my fault it's late. This was the only time I was motivated to finish this chapter. Although I know what imma do for the next chapter don't expect it anytime soon, maybe idk.
