I pulled over at the address Louis sent me thirty minutes prior, thankfully Valerie's place was close to the nursing home and wasn't hard to find. It was a wooden bungalow located at a designated area, with not too many other houses around.

It was secluded.

Stepping out of the car, I climbed onto the front porch and pressed the doorbell, which I found out wasn't working. I knocked on the door twice then took a step back. For a while I waited but there was no response, I knocked two more times but the result remained the same.

"Odd." I mouthed taking a whiff of the area, I could clearly pick up her scent and I noticed the lights were still on through the windows. She was home, but not answering.

Something felt off.
