“Who?” I asked, wondering why nobody had told me about some queen living nearby. I never thought that there would come a day when I actually despised being alpha. Sure, there were days I felt inadequate and that I was failing, but I’d grown to love the role as their alpha.

Today, wasn’t one of those days…

Today, I wanted to take Jack back to our bedroom and lock us up there. I wanted to make love to him as many times as I could, making up for all the time we’d lost circling around our feelings.

Last night had been the happiest day of my life!

Jack didn’t just love me back, but he claimed me. Making me his mate, his forever. And he didn’t even hesitate, something I realize now, that Cole always had. Deep down, Cole hadn’t truly believed that I was his mate and he’d held himself away from me.
