What Ash was unable to take from the canine Spirit, the black bandage ended up taking what it could once she had completed all of the conditions of her technique.

It was unknown if Ash would still be able to hold onto the Life Energy through her connection if there was the black bandage Evil Spirit feeding on it too before its death.

It was possible that the black bandage Evil Spirit could end up taking parts of what Ash had been working toward gathering for herself.

Ash did not wish to take the risk of her Life Energy being stolen away when she had worked so hard to get the most out of using her technique.
